this board has a lot of rules.

im goin back to fan art

[/ QUOTE ] I'm confused as to why you want these powers nerfed(or herfed).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Most likely had difficulty Assassin Striking some Katana Scrapper in one of the PVP zones. Isn't that the type of situation that usually results in someone coming to the boards and begging for a power to be herfed?

And when did Diving Avalanche get added? Did it replace Divine Avalanche or something?

I'm reminded of a Paper mission that randomly occurs in Sharkhead. "Rob the Chum Bucket", which is a casino owned by Mako. It's always the same building, and it is clearly a casino (If not small and dingy).

    [/ QUOTE ]

And on the hero side of the house, whenever you get that "Stop the Pawn Shop Robbery" radio mission in King's Row, it is always at the PWN Shop not far from Paladin Park.
  3. Hmmm... For starters...

    Polar Peregrine - Desert Raptor
    Twilight Dream - Morning Nightmare
Willie Whompem - Willie Whompem (Hey, works for Infernal)
    Sonnenblume - Lunar Blossom

then theres this red one, not sure if its just the one you buy from the QM in grandville or not...

[/ QUOTE ]The red one is the one you get via game cards/the mini-booster. The one from Grandville/Shadow Shard is just another Raptor Pack.

[/ QUOTE ]And in fact, if you have the raptor pack from the Safeguard/Mayhem, you can't buy the one from the Jet Pack salesman.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And conversely, if you have the raptor pack purchased from the vendor in GV at the time you run the Atlas mayhem for the first time, you do not get awarded the mayhem raptor pack upon completion.

(Which is why if I ran into an AE arc where I easily defeated Hardcase, I'd 1-star the arc on my way out for majorly violating canon.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Eh. If it was an overall decent arc anyway, I would 3 star it, like I do any mission that is equal in quality to a typical paper mission or run of the mill non-arc contact mission.

Then I would just no-prize the ease of defeating him away by figuring Hardcase was replaced with an inflatable Hardcase...filled with Folgers Crystals, and we just didn't notice.
  6. Only reason I have skipped Te,p Invulnerability is because I've never made a /Inv or Inv/ character yet. Briefly considered it for Bow Chicka Bow Wow, but then finally settled on DM/Electric for him after deciding to make him a Stalker.
  7. I can't pick just one. So here are my top selections...

    Willowpaw
    Honey-Bree
    Twilight Vixen
Honeypetal (Reused this one for my Hobbit Minstrel in LOTRO recently, since I couldn't get Honeyrose)
    Stellar Jay
    Sonnenblume
    Miss de Meowner
    Pyrefox
    Polar Peregrine
    Bugalicious
    Twilight Dream
    Never-Moore
    Scuttle-Bot
Impact Event (and Impact-Event on Virtue since the former was taken)
    Autumn Dream
    Melee Dee
    Willie Whompem and Spring Flurrie
    Pyra Painda
    Feisty Fawn
    Rad-Bit
Slithery-Dee (My Ice/Ice Dom. If Winter's Kiss ever becomes available on Freedom, I'm paying to change her name.)
    Screamsicle
Bow Chicka Bow Wow (a white woof, Dark/Electric Armor Stalker)

Farming isn't done by fire/kins, farming is done by various level 8 characters who skipped all their toggles.

    [/ QUOTE ]
But why would I want Temporay Invulnerability? I want to be Invulnerable ALL THE TIME LOL.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Perhaps everyone who skips Temporary Invulnerability is remembering Gauntlet...

"Valkyrie now has Temporary Invulnerability." Watch in horror as your hit points suddenly count down twice as fast while the power is running...
  9. Okay, now I'm getting an idea for a new supergroup that I will probably never get around to doing. All nuns who would be AR/Devices/Munitions Blasters...

    An Army of Nuns.

Some sort of Game Grid Warrior from TRON?
  11. How about crazed lobbyists instead of Congressional pages? Also, the Majority Whip (the tier 3 pet) would need a Moment of Glory type power called Fillibuster.

That guy brought up that in CO you don't have Unique names.

That is a GAME BREAKER for me. I do not want to get on a team and be with...

    Bluntman 420:

What kind of BS is that?

    Seriously. That WOULD SUCK. LRN2YUSTHESAURUS!

    [/ QUOTE ]

And don't forget the exceptionally inane BS that is actually having @<yourglobalname> appended to all your character names.

"Thanks for putting those Nemesis band geeks in their place, PerfectPain@Perfect Pain."

"Did you hear that PerfectPain@NotPerFectPain uncovered a Nemesis Plot?"
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Don't really know what else to add, but maybe even witches need some kind of 'oh crap' thing to whip out when things get tough?

    [/ QUOTE ]

At the tail end of level 40...

"Laugh now, my pretties. You may have shrugged off my mighty powers borne of ancient magic. But the time is drawing nigh when you will regret our foolishness. Mark my words..."

After a little montage to get to 41...

"I'm back! Remember me? And now for a magic of a new and different kind..." (Whips out the rocket launcher and blows the bums away.)
  14. Apparently I got Sonnenblume correct, because a while back someone asked me if I was German. I admitted that I'm not, and just used Babelfish to come up with her name.

I think the count registers if someone kills Rikti inside instanced missions, though...so maybe it would be possible to get a radio mish with Rikti, or maybe do Montague's Midnighter arc or something. Dunno. Never tried that, but it should work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Most of the Rikti in the Midnighter missions do not count. Only the Boss and any summoned by Comm Officers count. All the others seem to count as Lost instead of Rikti (understandable because for lower level heroes, they do spawn as Lost.)
  16. My Plants/Energy Dominator has it pretty easy on his quest for Perma Dom. Once again, that is thanks to having enough powers to where he can get 5 complete K-Crash sets slotted (still need to get that last set, which I'll do when I'm ready to play him again.)

I posted his build a while back elsewhere on these forums (not sure if it's been purged since then), and was told that he is very close to perma now according to his plan. I will need to review it again to see just what final few tweaks need made.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Just to be perfectly clear, if you buy the GvE edition ($20) and then later decide you want one of the goodies from another edition, you can either buy the goodies separately ($10) or buy the edition of the game that they come with and get a month's playtime included ($20 for $10 worth of goodies and $15 worth of subscription time).

Also, be ware of buying anything "used". The game code that comes with the package is only usable once. So if someone bought it, used the code to activate their account, and is now selling the box and disks, you would just be buying the install disks but not the ability to create an account.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At least if you are buying the GvE version "used" or at least opened, you can ask to see the back of the Pocket D VIP card. If the Dreamonium (the silver stuff that is scratched off to reveal the code) is gone, then you would definitely want to pass on that one.

    [ QUOTE ]
GvE for the jump pack is a little bit more helpful, IMO. But, if you know you plan to play for at least two months I would go for both and use the Architect Edition to snag a booster pack (Tech or Magic) that comes with it. Using that edition will give you another free month (worth $15 for only $20 - the booster on its own is $10. Thereby saving you $5 over buying the booster alone).

    --Rad

    [/ QUOTE ]
GvE gives 30 days too (the one in the original post was the full version, not the in-game pack).

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's actually best to buy all three full editions.

Total Cost for Architect Edition is negative $5 (20 minus 15 for time minus 10 for the Booster pack it comes with)
Total Cost for Mac Edition would be $5 (20 minus 15 for time)
Total Cost for GvE depends on where you get it. Could be a net negative cost, or net zero cost, or a fiver).

You would be throwing away otherwise perfectly good moola if you just buy one full edition and then buy the in game packs seperately.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
It's hard to choose. But I am undeniably pleased to have snagged 'Mortal Wombat'

    [/ QUOTE ]

If we could have politicians as Mastermind pets, I would make Mortal Congress.
  20. Would Bow Chicka Bow Wow work as a name, or is it too long?

  22. [ QUOTE ]
I've been making loads of characters over the last couple weeks... by the time I thought of a name I liked and tried it... it was always available!

    [/ QUOTE ]

With one of my most recent characters, it took me seemingly forever to find a good name for him. However, it wasn't due to names I was considering being taken, it was because all of the ones I mentally taste tested just didn't fit him.

This character has two incarnations: Earth/Thermal Controller on Champion, and a Stone/Stone Tanker on Virtue. When I initially came up with his concepts, I was going to call him Pwnhenge (and was surprised that the name was available...though probably won't be now). Then I determined that such a punkish name did not fit him, what with him being a nerdy college student.

Did a couple hours of researching on volcanoes and also meteors to find some terminology that would work for a heroic name, after determining that his powers primarily came from a meteorite that nearly hit him.

After a long time researching, I decided on Impact Event. Got it on Champion, but was surprised to find it already taken on Virtue (and rather disappointed too, considering how much time I put into deciding on the name).

Fortunately, the obvious alternative was available. So on Virtue, he is known as Impact-Event.

but if it ain't baroque, don't fix it.

[/ QUOTE ] Question, anyone know where you can download MP3s of Classical music for free legally? I know the music itself is in the public domain, but the actual recordings may or may not be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't want to be quoted on this yet (since I am now on a quest to find out for sure), but it would seem that if a public domain work is performed without any significant modifications, then that performance most likely would not be protected.

After all, unless there is some meta-data that has not been stripped out of a recording of a performance, how would anyone truly be able to tell whether or not it was performed by generic orchestra A or generic orchestra B, if the performance was note for note as per the original arrangement?

Time to post a question to the U.S. Copyright and Trademarks Office I guess.
