  1. OP:

No, we just don't want to team with jerks like yourself - because if this is the way you behave here where you're expected to be reasonably civil (since of course, this is a somewhat permanent record unlike chat) I'm sure that your behavior in the game is far worse and hardly even warrants the polite responses you've gotten to turn your team offers down.

I don't team often. But when I do, it's with a group of people that I enjoy playing with. I'm on a global channel that really is amazing, and while most of us *do solo*, we immediately come to the aid of those in need. Why?

Because we're friendly, nice, and polite. We dont' make demands like "better be here on time or else" and "you're a dirtbag liar because you declined my team invite".

It's just you. Everyone else in the game is teaming. They just won't team with YOU.
  2. For you maybe. Many others disagree heartily, myself included. I didn't play it, but the videos I've seen just... *ugh*.

But again: I don't want to have new stuff because some other game has it. Seriously. I'd like to have improvements and revamps here, though.
  3. So.... kin+emp+stuff we can't do here... got it.
  4. I would absolutely love to just be able to customize what the flight/jumping/speed whatnot powers *look like* while they're on. With the bulk of the customization having already been done for the last year by the new peons in the studio, hopefully they'll be tackling the power pools and others which haven't been altered much / any.

From what I've heard about CO's "different powers" they're essentially flight - with auras and other stuff. So... most of our powers DO have some form of (faintly or otherwise) visible components... Make them more obvious and make them something we choose per costume.

Burning aura trail behind you? Check. Hot-foot foot prints? Check. The same things with the prestige sprints may be workable (if not immediately customizable). I'd far rather see spiffy new uses for the existing stuff we have, working within the structure available, than try and force a power set to "fit" with what we've got and not throw all manner of bugs into the mix.

No, they expect to be powerleveled. Or, perhaps, their cat is on fire and they have had to go afk.

    For fun?

    This is actually fairly true

And indeed: if you weren't there, it's a little late to "help". And as I said before, down here in For Fun it means that things should be taken a little LESS seriously.

If you have a really good suggestion, and it survives the trial by fire that is this section *at all*, it belongs IN A PM to a DEV after careful consideration and work.
  7. So what about the RMT people's spam, QJ?

I can't afford IT either. How does that enter your equation? If I want something spiffy to help me with my character's performance, I can earn it in the game just as easily as ever. If I want something extra to make a costume look just perfect - I can save up and every few months get a new doodad for that. It does not affect the performance of the game/character.

RMT still requires "rm" ... you do know that means "real money" right? A lot of us are sadly lacking in this economy, and I'm glad I paid for a full year of sub for this game when I still HAD that money. If it comes down to it, I would imagine more people would spend their 15 bucks for another month of play time, rather than fitting one character with however much influence *and then not being able to play the game*...
  8. And: this isn't CO. You want those powers, play it. Our powers are fine - swinging looks *stupid*.
  9. Back in COV beta there was one door you got sent to that would screw everything up, I managed to get into it, but then...

Also in COV beta, the two-floor rooms were still buggy as heck, they were for whatever reason displaced or moved a little so you couldn't see them except for what was IN them ...

And I know this is very old, but I don't know whether they ever fixed it:

    We live on Bizarro Earth.

  10. I soloed my emp/dark defender before there was difficulty levels, I did have to break from her for a while before the EB/AV code went in, and I did still have to team a little up in the high 40s to get those EBs down to size. But yes, the point of the game isn't to rush, it's to play - so it's all designed around playing the way you want to. There will be new difficulty levels soon so it's kind of moot anyway.
  11. I liked both those kicks quite a bit, actually. Except the discoball effect, but still.

  13. Anything that pits my money versus someone else's money is bad. I have no money = I can't get better perks? No thanks.

I can scrape together enough to pick up the occasional booster which is fluff - because I *like* the fluff. Everything else I earn in the game, thanks. I have an even chance with that stuff. Purchase it? I can't. Everyone who can, therefore, "wins" over me. Sorry, but it's a terrible idea all around.

Buy fluff, it's optional. Earn ingame abilities, it's equally earnable.

  15. I *think* what you're asking for is "use the same treatment for auras that we get in powers"... which was suggested a couple weeks back in so many words.

Agreed though, some of the light-dark shifts are pretty neat.

    For fun?

It was pointed out to us that the devs would listen to well-thought-out arguments - not petty mudslinging.

And it was far from "just a little out of hand" really, it was a MESS. I don't mind it down here, because in the For Fun section you can get and justify joke threads too. Up in the omg seriousness area, you'd get flamed just for that.
  17. They could just use the phone booths? Unless there aren't any in normal villain zones, I know they're in the pvp zones.

It's a good idea. I hate how hero side you use them once or maybe twice in your entire career, it'd be great if they could DO something.

Right, I know that. If they HAD the rights, I'd want to play it

Have you tried the wayback.com thing? if you know where the pages WERE they may be archived.

Exactly - why they didn't actually TRY using the system that the damn game's based on, arg. If they had, I might even be wanting to play it. But noooo- crappy IP world I never wanted to play in, sure. Leftover development from Marvel, sure. Bleah.

For me, I like having the *structure* of at's and powersets, and within those you have such a huge variety of possibilities with enhancements and sets... and now colors, hey.
  21. Can I just /jranger this? I mean... it really is warranted, right? Please? Ocho? Can I just this once?

There are so many, many things wrong with the entire argument that the OP gives. So. Many.

Yes: CO comes into play here because it's trying (lamely) to reproduce the pre-alpha game which this one GAVE UP ON because it was hopelessly hard to balance and impossible to prevent people from being Ubar- or Gimp-man.

The game you want is Freedom Force or HeroX. Go find em, you'll see wheeee! you can change the animations, and give yourself whatever...

And then get bored as hell and play something better - like this game - again.

Any use of those is an abuse.
I beg to differ. They look awesome on some characters, but you have to do it right.

This, and my idea on protector, which if I get rolling there will be plenty of screenshots - even if we don't use that server OR continue, it'll be ... heeehehehe fun. No I'm not saying what.
