As a brute I liked playing DB/WP, after you get your combos its relitivly fast action. Bad thing is its damage type is resisted on quite a few mobs and it sucks for pvp. But it is fun to play.

I like my blasters as is really. As far as Im concerned they are one of this games best classes. Im not sure why some one would compair the damage of a scrapper (a melee class who is always in the thick of it) to a Ranged class (Stand way back and shoot!). They dont have the survivability of a Scrapper/Tank because simply they are NOT either of those classes, even so a Blaster has some nice survivability considering. I dont think this game was intended for every class to solo every aspect of this game, if you want that dont play the games 'Glass cannon"
Note: this is also coming from a guy who's mains are a blaster and a brute if that lends itself to anything. -
Quote:This, however I think this "wish list" is the Devs circular 'out file' kinda like those suggestion boxes at work or the 'How are we doing?" boxes at the store. people fill em but no one ever looks at them.Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, Fix defense, ummm....oh yeah and they should also fix the defense.

Quote:The easiest way to prevent somthing like that is not to have it. seriously, there is no reason for it to begin with as this is exactly what it would be used for and no way to block it.
There is one SERIOUS issue with this, and it is an issue. They would need to come up with some way to ensure that someone could not be connected from both the game client and the PvP viewer--other than IP address--at the same time. Otherwise, people would use it for rampant cheating. In WSG and can't find the flag carrier, open up the PvP viewer and just tab to the flag carrier's point of view. "Oh! There she is! Quick guys, over here! She's by herself!"
Back on the topic for PvP for CoX though, that needs to be done is to have skills revamped (all the way to the core) and to have 2 diffrent functions. One for PvE and one for PvP. For example a self heal in PvE would heal for its full amount in PvE but in PvP it would heal less but have some secondary benifit like increase regen for a bit. Also melee would need a reason to be out in those PvP zones, sadly this game seems heavy on the 'ranged' aspect of pvp unless your a stalker. Tanks have no role so to speak in pvp for example. When was the last time you saw somone fight the tank over a nice tasty squishy in a pvp zone? That tank should be able to do somthing about that at least. -
You could always add in Teleport Foe and use it to pull him away from his pets, and its not a travel power per say. I find it helpful for this sort of thing.

I was mostly wondering because Im going to level a character to strictly do pvp and I didnt want to spend so much time on a character who's main for of defence was countered by just popping a yellow or one button, which it was made to sound like a defence based character was. Also if the happy 'medium' is a set based on both def and res why do people say to steer away from /WP? it's both def and res isnt it? again I will be using it to face other players =)
PS: Smeghead love the picture of the Red Dwarf crew there, one of my favorite shows that use to come up on public TV here, never get tired of watching it =) -
Which is better for pvp? i remember reading that in PvP def was useless due to a player being able to pop a couple of insperations and build up/aim. If you have a choice between def or resistance what would it be?

Quote:There are a few modes to respec available, though mission wise Im not sure what those are Red side. I do know the two easiest ways are 1) go to the NC store and buy one for about 10 bucks or 2) get a respec recipe off the market. So I just completed the Arbitor Rein Arc and got my respec. In doing so, I picked up the Mace Mastery set. In duplicating pretty much what I had before, I inadvertently left out Mental Training. Not being able to plow through my melee attacks as fast has caught me off guard a few times. Now, I am at level 48 with two to go. I think I can still pick this up at 50. With that being said, any word that we will get a free respec for i16?

Quote:Wait they sleep? I dont ever remember seeing any beds..prehaps they just spin a web and hang from it?You would think that Arachnos engineers would have a modular neural interface and mounting points for those claws, not only to facilitate repair and replacement, but also so that soldiers could, you know, sleep at night on their backs
But alas, Lord Recluse's deprivations know no ends, including the welfare of his troops. Darwinism and all that.
(The only thing keeping me from trying a Huntsman build on my Crab are those Crab legs). -
Quote:Im not sure if it would be game breaking or not, but wouldent this make power leveling in boss farms in AE even quicker than it is now? Just gather a map, make sure you got heals incoming, set blasters to nuke nuke nuke, move to next map.I'm still waiting for a "game breaking" reason why herding is bad in today's game. So far all I've heard was "I don't like it ... it's boring" which you can certainly choose not to do with the agro cap lifted.
Im not saying that herding is a good/bad thing not being somone who actually does it, but this is what it sounds like it would be used for if the cap was taken off or raised. -
it needs a toggle, 'Bullet Time' +5% ranged def +2% Lethal damage -2% recharge
or something like that :P -
I use to group with a blaster who did tons of KB while playing my tanker, most of the time he would blast them to me and i would pick em up which made me happy to no end. If you can control where you do you knock back and how you do it you will be a great asset to any group. Only people who have no idea that KB can be GOOD boot them out. Most of the time I have more problems with MM's robots than I would a blasters KB. Normally i give them a chance, but if they DO keep blasting my groups every which way and aggroing the next group constantly I will boot them.

I would settle for it being a toggle and floating around like the drone does.

Im not Luminara, but I can tell you a few things about /devices, mostly that unlike alot of the other secondary sets /Devices seems more based around preference than anything eles, and allows one to solo alot better than most sets. Most of the power choices in there you cant really go wrong with, such as caltrops, targeting drone, stealth drone, and trip mine which really are the staples of the set. Slotting is entirely based on prefrence. Personally I 6 slotted trip mine (I only use it really for boss battles but the set bonuses i put in there are nice) and 4 slotted targeting drone with a 4 banger of adjusted targeting (for set bonus) Im debating slotting caltrops more since i get heavy use out of it (It can really save your butt). Travel pool for me was Super Jump so i could get Combat Jumping and 2 slot it (with a -KB IO, later with a LoTG recharge) also this was a concept build (natural origin) so it was the one that fit the best for me, also Super Jump to me is an amazing travel ability. again YMMV but there is enough room in Devices to do alot of things. The only BAD thing about /Devices is its not a very group friendly set, its not to say its not useful but just not as useful in groups like some of the others. after all no one is going to wanna wait for several minutes while you set up all your trip mines :P

Cant seem to find one that dosent give me a 404 error. anyone know of a guide thats current or have a solo build I can look at? :P
-
-
It seems the old guides for this give me 404 errors and havent been updated for some time. anyone have a guide or soloing builds for this? also does it pvp decently?
-
-
-
This seems to be happening as of recently on my /WP brute. I enter a new zone and all my toggles shut off. Dosent happen all the time but it happens enough to be annoying.
-
You might be surprised at what can set people off the hook sometimes. I could say "Cake>Pie" and I could get 100 people clicking the neg rep button. I think the point mainly is just ignore it (dosent mean go all out to insult people or anything). I like the idea of people being able to rate how helpful a post its but in all honesty a system like that normally dosent account for people just wanting to bring a persons rep down.

Quote:Im not the best with spelling, never have been, this along with the muscles in my hands wasting away make for some interesting typos most of the time =)You forgot "somone".
The correct text (for somebody with a base) is:
When I did the log out option it wouldent log me out for what ever reason because of the LCTM and I had to 'Force" the program to quit. Was amusing to say the least but also very annoying -

If you keep in mind AE will be there when you hit 50 still your in good shape. many of the original content gives badges and cannot be redone without having to go back through the flash back missions (which are a pain since they delevel you temporarily to do them). The newspaper missions lead up to bank missions which can be tons of fun (Red side its "SMASH EVERYTHING!!!!" how can you NOT like that? :P) and can level you quickly. another way is to (as mentioned) join a SG and go grouping with them (Sg's being like guilds if you didnt know) and that can get you decent exp.
First character however i would suggest not power leveling, though there is nothing wrong with AE content (Some of the developers choice ones are fun) and it can net you tickets to get recipes to sell or use. Nice for those 'akward' level gaps or when you wanna try something eles. I just wouldent use it to P-level since you wont really learn a thing about how to play your character -
Quote:i wouldent worry about it, not everyones gonna agree with everything a person says and some people will just give neg rep just because it gives em a power trip. I mean, I have -4 rep and Im not even sure where its from lol. I think you can disable it though. Im just too lazy to do so.I know this is kind of an odd question, but how do you (generic) deal with people who give negative rep without signing their name?
Just today, for example, I had a positive reputation from someone who signed their name (thank you), and a negative reputation for THE EXACT SAME THING, with no name.
It bothers me because I feel like it's an attack I can't defend against.
How should I deal with it? Ignore it entirely? Change what they didn't like so I don't get further negative rep? Do what they suggest in hopes they will come back and give me positive rep?
