Yes, -250% is in my opinion quite substantial for a temporary power. I wasn't aware of the stats for -regen from that, thanks Sant'.

Quote:It's entirely deducible from your intention with Fire/SD. I've always strongly advocated people with numerous advice especially with Fire/SD. What is your purpose with it, whilst I see you simply wish to progress with it within normal game-play, I'd side with Frosticus:Considering how END heavy the set combo is I want to know, as roughly as necessary, what sort of influence pool I should be looking at before I roll one if I want to make the leveling experience and smooth as enjoyable as it should be.
However, I will inform you this Fire/SD is a pale shadow of what it could be at 50 with very heavy investments. While some will argue anything can be improved with investment I confidently say that the margin between a Fire/SD and for example SO fitted is massive. In spite of almost sounding contradictorily you can still enjoy Fire/SD with SO's, but I'd insist it isn't against high +level foes nor do you attempt taking alphas.
Enjoy it, it's one crazy set.

Quote:Because in my opinion the fact it is assumed unobtainable doesn't really necessitate leaving on a computer every night, to get one measly IO. In fact I find it awfully saddening if someone does take that approach. I may have exaggerated that in comparison to RMT buying, but it's up there.Someone leaving their computer on to farm for IOs which are otherwise realistically unobtainable is worse than botting and sweatshops to sell ingame items for real world currency...how?
Silas, I must point out I have no vindictiveness towards anyone who does carry it out, I simply believe the principle in doing said action is rather peculiar, in defence of offending anyone who does. I just don't see the real-side point of it in comparison to "achieving" something in a virtual world, hence my point.
Fair enough if you disagree, after all it's not absurd both sides, but do you honestly see my point and not understand what I am getting at? That the whole idea of this is to obtain 1 particular item, that isn't even regarded "godly".

Since the thread has been solved, and congratulations by the way, I just want to interject and make a final comment: Whilst I made the argument leaving them on is dear and I mean that loosely, it was more the principle of leaving them on that actually bothered me.
You know, leaving it on 24/7 for an item in a virtual game, it's worse than RMT purchasing..

Quote:AFK PvP farming is quite common, and I didn't doubt it would and hence it leads you into the cycle of make ludicrous money = expend ludicrously = make ludi... etc.I would seriously like to know how people amass 4 billion influence in the first place, some of these prices are just insane. I refuse to pay anything over 100 mil for ANYTHING ingame.
I find it incredibly saddening the lengths people go to achieve things in these games. I mean seriously, if I was a parent of the kid who left his computer on all night to get a measly PvP IO, I would murder them as soon as I read my electric bill.

Well done everyone, I wish all the best! Congratulations on the EU slot, that will home in a lot of players. And a massive thank you to you Avatea.

Quote:You should be a constituent runner for the Tories', your brash blaséness is becoming quite irritating in these conversations. I've lost all credit in reading your comments quite rapidly, your reaching an almost neanderthal simpleness of the current predicament.Yeah, it's interesting how it reflects the small-mindedness of nationalism
Also, you clearly have no understanding of politics and I amusingly suspect you represent the cause of Brighton Pavillion caving to the Green Party.
Back on topic, I have had several thoughts about moving to NA because I really do miss this game when it is bustling with heroes and villains alike. The last time I didn't make an effort to create or join a team in villains was probably around Issue:7 and sadly I really miss it. However, in contemplation of the amount of effort and time I have spent on this side of the border I believe the best option is simply to call it a day, I've played so long and I can't be bothered restarting. Also, theres lots of other games I may draw my attention into.
Also, I really hate the fact when your subscription is up you can't post here anymore - it strikes me very odd.

I'm going to excuse you for that since your Welsh, but why is every time I hear that I hear her voice... It's quite funny!

I absolutely abhor multi-quote responses but I feel I should criticise various points:
Quote:What's the point of merging the server LIST without merging the actual server?
The point of a server list merge advocates several things:- A harmless joining of two communities, with minor sacrifices for either community.
- An option to allow EU to keep their accounts, at the very least, after all the EU will be making the most sacrifices.
- 4 more servers for the NA to play on, which I think will certainly population boom them back into use.
- Actual server merging is extremely difficult and raises a lot of problems, simple and complex: for example which server on NA do you merge with only 4 options from EU; to the problematic name-clashing; even account name clashing.
Quote:that won't make any more villains play (in fact probably less cos nearly everyone would take advantage of the already implemented thing to move servers),
Moving servers, server transfers, would actually increase the amount of activity if they implemented a server list merge or server merge, and allow people to experience different server qualities. Besides, nowadays NA has such a high population that you can start a character on any of the servers and still enjoy the atmosphere, if your in it for the casual gameplay.
Quote:and would still mean you couldn't move supergroups to an active server which is the most important thing since it's the single most thing you can't really ever get back when prestige accumulates so slow and gathers up over years
The problem I foresee in the developers mind is the significance of the EU problem: Spending all this time re-organising and changing hardware/software, etc does not aid the other 95%(NA subscription base, and exaggerated value) whatsoever. I can understandably see the NA base turning around in Issue: 20 EU saying "What do we get, whilst you fix them?". I think the problem has been raised and escalated to the best of our abilities but in face of the effort/time consumption ratio we will succumb to pastures gone.

Quote:You shouldn't have to by now and I most certainly will not opt for paying that, I always refer to GW's as an exemplary MMPORG - not comparitively gaming-wise but the handling of their intricate community. At this point I'd settle for just one fee to access both sides of the pond if the other technical issues are too much for too little gain.
At first you were divided into several "Sub-sections" like America, English-EU, Asia, etc. Then they had several "instances" of particular zones to allow for extreme over-population within said sub-section. At this point in time they had an offer of "5 chances" to change your native server then that was it. Much later on they finally implemented a globalistation of the server "lists" - for lack of a better expression.
I particularly like the window of 5 options to change your native server, and thoroughly advise the devs' to go with that option if they cannot implement some sort of cross-server localisation. However I strongly hold that a server list merge would be the best, even if it means that you have to connect to their NA servers, and vice-versa, I'd probably go renew my subscription.
Frankly I find the fact I have subscribed several accounts to CoH/CoV and have to simply tie them off rather insulting. I've played since CoV came out and excluding the odd break I've subscribed since then. The deterioration could be argued as not exclusively their fault, but its more the fact all my money's commitment to this game has been utterly pointless.

If you have the cash, go with NW, you will not regret it one bit. I have dual build IO'ed NW & Fort' and the NW is literally insane. The attack chain from a ST point of view is really nasty, I have a similar NW build to someone who made an example one in a "NW Guide". I can pretty much contend with the majority of the hardest AV/Hero foes in the game.
Of course on teaming, fighting average mobs the ST isn't really an enthusiastic choice but you will actually destroy most AV's/Heroes. You can't really judge them on team-effective powers since they both generate the same +Team buffs, but the bottom line is AoE - Fort/ ST - NW.
EDIT: I should point out you do have the ability to go for both.

I think Predatoric's post just about sums up my opinion, and the forecast of my own attempt at going to NA servers save the good SG - good luck Predatoric. I think the devs' and anyone with a bleeding pulse should read that post and take in every word.
Last point I make, and in summary to the OP's question, I won't be moving to NA unless it is a secure transfer of my account. I haven't got GR nor will I, unless prior to GR I hear EU will be "saved". After that, my sub is getting cancelled and I leave an entirely affronted player - in regards to customer service and standard. ( Sure, one person won't matter, but I'll know not to delve into EU servers if there is a split server choice next time - and I'll happily advise lots of others too ).

Pred' obviously plays one style of /Traps, whereas there are many ways, hence the debate over power choices. There really is a lot of ways to play traps, before I really got to grips with the powers and the numbers I frequently would lay traps then attack, the simple method of a MM. However, now having achieved softcap DEF, and some reasonable RES, I toebomb which is absolutely wonderful fun. Drop drones into a mob, jump in set up traps and blam blam blam!
It used to widely be regarded quite slow prior to the villain epic pools, because I'm not sure you could softcap - of course remember this is also the pre-invention era. I am happy to rescind if that's incorrect. However, with the ease of softcap- one of my favourite and in my opinion best ways to play /Traps is to toebomb. I'm slightly derailing because this is from a MM perspective, my Sonic/Traps 'fender is more ST-styled so I can't really comment. However, to the OP I'd say Sonic is fantastic. -Res is a wonderful addition to the debuffs traps already offers.

Quote:Actually it is when you believe that such a topic created in this sub-forum does not in any way hint to that particular subject. You are being naive or oblivious to the fact that the other answer to the question is "No I have not, because....." which then leads on to "why...".It isn't naive. It's just asking that this shrieking is kept to the bloody threads where it's relevant, rather than being jolted into every other ******* thread on the EU sub-forum. Well, alright. That's naive given how whiny your lot are. Eh.
For goodness sake, use common sense why would you ask this question here, when you know to expect an answer like that, it's hardly out of context. Especially when within the parameters of this sub-forum, a very large proportion of the posters are EU subscribers?
He is asking about whether or not, simply put, old players now play on NA which is a valid question. However, considering that I know a few of the EU-to-NA transfer people, they will not respond to this thread. Hence the apparent misconception that we are whining or derailing the subject.
As have many pointed out, I have also not moved nor felt any compelling need to since I've put far too much effort into my account to simply revert back to the start again. Although I am sad that good players such as Terror and Carni' moved but c'est la vie.
EDIT: If your debasing the simpleness of our situation like that then your opinion is humorously exact of those that are, again, as I said on the safe side of the barricade.

Quote:Ah yes, the naivety of once again the person who is the on the safe side of the barricade. It's actually a thread asking for players who made the jump, not yet another springboard to make hyperbolic claims of how terrible the EU is being treated, and how much easier the game could be fixed in some hypothetical dreamworld.
But, eh.
Bravo.

To be honest, I can make them out I'm just straining a little. Problem I also have is that, for some odd reason, my internal volume? In BIOS, I think, is really low and so at max volume via User-Interface is still low.
It was only the first "edition", since it had the devs'. Don't worry if it's too much hassle, great piece though!

Another side-affect that was always going to exponentially go crazy with updates and GR. I've made this argument countlessly, I really dislike having to save it, especially when you have to update the CD, ignoring external hard-drives, frequently or make another CD....
This isn't really a complaint I can make in foresight of the other problems but It'd be nice to have a brand new copy. It reminds me of installing Guild Wars with the CD I got the first week it came out, and updating it.... God I abhored that moment of updating, with all 3 campaigns.

Is it possible to get a transcript, or something? I realise that this may be an arduous request because it's 1 hour but I have impaired hearing, and I can't quite make out what some people are saying. I'm not bothered if not! Brilliant feature!
