My method requires no knowledge of the market other than how to follow the 'last 5' on a transaction. I employ this method on a lvl 50 character, but I think it would work about as well on anything that is lvl 30+. I have a PB that has almost hit 30 and could try it on that toon as soon as I ding to see how lucrative it is. For the time being, assume the toon is 50.
I like to run solo Lt farms. Of course, with the changes in I16, it will take some tweaking, but let's just assume that you're running AE missions and earning close to the ticket cap on each mission, if you aren't exceeding it. I use my tickets to by 35-39 silver recipe rolls. This gives you enough recipes that normally sell for at least 1 Million, that it is worth the salvage investment. Don't worry about trashing anything unless you really want to and just buy the salvage you need. Then simply craft and sell. Along with normal game play, this method has always left me with more influence over the long haul. -

Quote:Actually, base building as a soloist depends greatly on how quickly you can produce influence. I have a bunch of Alts and a second account so all I did was to build the group at lvl 10, invite one of the characters on my second account and then invited a bunch of alts to the group. This provided some nice starting funds.I would add that building your own base will be kinda hard if your the only member of said group.
You have to earn Prestige by playing in SG mode, then use the Prestige to buy your base and edit it. This can get kinda expensive and time consuming if you want a fully functional base.
I have since hit 50, always playing in SG mode. I also use the market heavily to sell drops earned from playing, I run TFs as much as possible, resorting to AE when teams don't pan out. This way I am earning either tickets or merits so I can buy and craft recipes. Selling these on the market can be an excellent source for generating influence.
Then all I do is with every 100 mil of influence generated, go and turn it into Prestige in Galaxy City. I never worry about prestige because I am earning prestige faster than I can spend it on base items. -
Uncommons are gold, but another great way for quick influence is rare salvage via tickets. Though in this case, the subject of the thread might have to change to "Stop me From Becoming a Ticket Farmer!" At least with flipping, you don't have to be logged in to do it.

Very true. Anybody who plays the market long enough is bound to see it either in their buying and their selling. In this case I saw both in the short space of maybe 10 hours; though my net gain was certainly greater than my loss.

Very interesting. This should be just the shakeup AE needs to move more folks out into the "real world" of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. The AE dynamic is changing, and for the better I think. Very interesting indeed!

It could have been more, but it more than makes up for my overbid last night of 910,000 for a lvl 30 End Mod IO instead of 91,000. Not a bad way to start the day on my lowbie PB.

Quote:I do this too...of note is the price of respec recipes. They went from around 35 million about a month before 2XP and have now skyrocketed to around 200 Million as of my last check last night. And to think I was holding them to sell at 100 Million.A behavior that might also be of note--I don't know if other people do this--but even when I'm not actively playing the market, I keep an eye on it, just 'cuz I find it interesting. There are a lot of items I routinely check on, even when I'm not doing anything with 'em.

Now you've gone and reminded me of a Russian Jew named Tevye and his monologues when confronted with his daughters' choice of husbands.

Quote:I certainly agree and said that I will be minimally surprised at any tweaks the devs put on the difficulty system. I'm still excited for the change and for the Going Rogue expansion. I was a little miffed with the AE nerfs, but I've come to modify my play style so that it isn't as big a deal.I agree but the Devs have done far worse to deter the farmers/PL'ers. Mission Timers, E.D., Aggro/Attack limits... the list goes on and on. Don't put anything past them. It is their game and they have proven time and time again they will do what they want with it. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best! I still LOVE this game and just like we've done for 14 updates WE WILL ADAPT AND CONQUER!
I enjoy the overall game and the community within it too much to let a little thing like the difficulty system modifications to get me to leave it. Adapt and conquer we shall! -
It's already been said (by who, I can't remember and I don't have the inclination to go back through thread and check) that expansion of the genre increases the visibility of other games within it. In short, what's to say that the release of Champions couldn't be a bit of a draw to the Superhero genre and more players to CoX? I guess it's just a matter of if there are more people drawn to CoX than leave it.
It also seems like there is a good amount of publicity being put into the release of the power customization in I16 and little bits here and there about the Going Rogue expansion. It's just a matter of maneuvering and continuing to expand and improve the game to keep people in it and I think the folks at NCSoft are doing a pretty good job at that. I know I'm not going anywhere, and from what I hear in the SGs I am a part of, very few of them are either. -
My first AV (after first taking out a few pylons) was Infernal. That was a fun night.

I know I like to run and kill RWZ spawns with my /WP build when there isn't much else to do. I never worry about what I target except for the Guardians. It's just kind of annoying if a baddie gets double-bubbled and I start missing. Otherwise it's a great free-for all and sometimes, If I'm feeling particularly daring, I'll pull a few groups under a pylon and see if I can survive.
-
But it seems like that would completely screw up the risk vs. rewards equation. Here's hoping such a decision isn't made, but I've learned not to put anything out of the reach of the development team. We'll see what happens.

It means that you have to pay 500,000 inf in membership fees to each preceding member of the group. Or if that doesn't seem reasonable, start using your rep granting skills Once that has been done, we'll flip you in order to drive up the cost of admission into the group.

I'll bite and say that I think the store prices are set to encourage you to sell on the market rather than at the store. If you don't want to use the market, I'll buy yours from you for 5 Mil a piece so I can store them in my SG.

Yes! Now that is just the kind of image that gets hit with my AdBlock stick.

Just wondering what you mean by 'checked out the CO beta'. Did you actually play the game and poll those you came across or did you just check out the forums or what? I'm just wondering how empirical you were about this little bit of research.

First of all, Gratz on joining the club. Second your banner would certainly be more of an eyesore if it were flashing, in which case I know I would have to AdBlock it.

Just tired out my Pocket D TP and it still stutters. It is rather annoying as is the lag that seems to have been around since shortly after I15 was released. Not sure what's going on, but I am pretty sure it isn't my system.

I suppose yesterday was a good day for the RNG because I got a purple drop while running Tina's arc with some friends. The last time I got a purple drop was actually a double drop while farming a BM map before I14. I'm always happy to receive a little love from the RNG.
