Aparently the Alpha/Beta version of 'Assault Rifle' was just that, according to someone who has been in game that long. You used to have an assault rifle, shotgun, sniper, a flamer...ALL sorts of cool gubbins.

Sadly, like clipping, redraw kills yet another good idea =[

I'm not sure why the expectations were so high for it, or what we could have done differently. From my perspective, we were pretty clear that it wasn't going to be as big as I14 or the GR expansion. It did take a bit longer to birth than anticipated, but ultimately that just pushed it closer to I16 rather than coming right on the heels of I14.
I think, due to the shuffle caused by AE, everyone assumed I15 was 'The Big One', BaB's, not I16.

Personally? I was angry as hell because the MM power didn't work on Reichsman =P That SF was great, BUT: It needed to be clearer what the patron powers did, rather than confusing the hell out of people.

Oh, and let-downs for new costumes. Give Jay a slap and lot's of 'love' from the EU, ta much =P

Edit: Gods damn I got ninja'd XD

At least the US actually GET Closed Beta.
Us in Europe have to wait till Open. It's as if they don't WANT feedback and bug testing...
Oh, maybe thats why Issues come out still riddled with bugs? /sarcasm

  10. I support removing the need to visit a trainer. Why on earth do you need to see someone just to change powers you already know? If it was set change, sure, I could accept that. But IC wise it makes no sense, OOC wise it can be a pain.

Keep the timer, by all means, although if they let you know how long you had to wait it'd be nice.
  11. EU has no Closed Beta?
    Don't think we'll forget this....
OR the last umpteen howevermany times.

In all seriousness, what is up with that? It's as if the Devs dont want feedback. Although, given some of the past Issues to go Live, I wouldnt actaully be too surprised.

((Please note, I still LIKE the issues, and CityOf as a whole. I just occasionally short a cerebro circuit wondering what on earth the Devs are doing =S ))

    Not all of them.
But avoid the 1 vote 5 starers. They tend to be 'Ooo lookit my arcs cool lolololo votemeplzkthx'

What really bugs me is that both my arcs, with a couple of votes each and 5 star totals, are sat way at the back somewhere. While the 1 vote 5 stars are all piled up at the front. Considering I spent a lot of time making those (AND working around the Devs and their goshdamned stealth editing of destructables) I'm quite miffed about that...
  13. Soldiering: Your doing it wrong.

What you need is a VEAT team. Even 2 or 3 other VEATs teamed as one, and you suddenly see just why people like me like them so much.

There are very few things as damaging as a hail of Venom and Frag grenades, topped off by whatever AoE pain can also be dished out.
Also, what do you mean about the backpack? From the sound of it, you've got Wolf and Crab powers in the same character, and expect them to all use the backpack.
Yeah, sadly doesn't happen. Would be nice, but it doesn't. On the plus side, you do get some very natty attacks in the Crab pools.
  14. Ok, problem solved. You really need to download the version from www.cohplanner.com on Titan Network, NOT the one from Mids own site.
Phew, I woulda been in trouble there ^^
  15. If 1.401 is the one that is still on Mids site and all, thats the one I DO have. And my saved builds simply won't load.
If theres a fix, I'd love to know. If not, well, woop de frag...
  16. Alright, major problem here.
Since my laptop had a hardware fail and needed to be rebuilt, I obviously had to re-instal Mids and suchnot.

Now, this version says December 08, as other people have noticed. All well and good.
What ISN'T well and good is that it did update after that, if I remember right. And ALL the builds I managed to save to a HDD will no longer open. The 08 version is also missing a few buttons and stuff that were there before.

Really badly need some help with this...

  18. You'll be back, you know it
Enjoy the break, m'dear, and see you back when the world is in need of some TLC in white haired glory.

There is room for team roles and team dynamics even if players aren't gimped by design.

    Amen to that.
I have to say, my lvl 50 Inv/EM tanker, my first character and 50 and an old warhorse, hasnt been out to pasture for a long, long, long time.

Why? He feels inadequate compared to other ATs. Solo? Sure, if you fancy minimum difficulty and taking it real slow. Teamed? These days everyone can do everything better than you.

Tankers aren't the worst offenders (Kheldians are) when it comes to poor inherents. But I really think that could do with an overhaul.

Still, theres a lot of things I'd love to do to the game, but hey, they don't pay me, so I can't =P

Oh and, seriously? It's still a game. Lighten the hell up people, sheesh.

    Humans...
  20. I'm sorry....what? Why are we talking about WoW?

If they can pull off a proper overhaul of the PvP zones (In CityOf) then things should be better. Fix up the actual PvP system, add in more rewards (not just sets, for the love of pete) and actually put some brainpower into it, and PvP could, as it should, be a great and populated part of the game.
  21. Peacebringer.
'Holy light' blasts. Fly from the get go.
Works fine for me. And the PB sound is a bit like bells, or a somewhat ghostly organ. Quite cool, methinks.
  22. Given the costume creator is one of CoX's biggest and best points, one of the best out there, the Devs really will be shooting themselves in the foot if they say 'Oh, we are limited by such and such.' Upgrade time much? Yes, it's a lot of work most likely. But ya think anyone famous would be where they are if they had said that? Climbed Everest, swum the channel, made a plane?

Sure, this is just a game, so maybe not as a dramatic as all that. But still, why is working for improvement this whole big deal?
  23. /Unsigned

Unneeded dumbing down of sets. The whole POINT of the Defender AT, amongst the others that have buffs, is to be a support class. This is exactly like saying all empathy powers should be AoE, because 'its to annoying to heal everyone one by one'.

Its balanced, it works fine. Leave it alone, for pity sake.

Things like a respec system that is actually user friendly and doesn't force you to redo every single action you've ever taken when leveling your character.
    I agree wholeheartedly there.
Now that the Devs actually DO have no excuse for reading this (ah la EU boards), its time to say this.
    Again.
    And louder.

NEW SHINIES is of no use if the OLD JUNK is still in the game. Eegads, there is a large chunk of the playerbase who could sort that out better than the Devs have so far. Seriously, there has been some great great stuff thats been new (Vanguard, oh I love Vanguard) but the old stuff needs some polish, period. Especially the starting stuff. Ever wonder why a chunk of new players end up prefering farmed missions in AE?

Because the low level content is dull, dull, DULL. Theres no variety, nothing except Hunt X, Rescue Y, Defeat all Z. Boring, repetetive, yawn-inspiring.

Come on, Matt et al. This is a great game that deserves some TLC on the chassis to make sure the rest of it really really shines.
  25. This is either going to be very useful...or very, very bad. Call it a glitching diode, or a squeaky elbow joint.

I take it I16 is on US test, and not EU test?
    Hmph....
