AR/Fire Corr.
Most fun Offender style build I've ever made ^^
If you dont want to be buffing, Rad/Rad is also great for mega debuffing. -
Serious Question to any redname that happens to glance this way?
Is this a problem that can be fixed?
Is it being looked into?
It is getting particularly bad. EU side was always a bit temperamental, but never to point of refusing log ins, whole zone crashes and general tom-foolery like this... -
Yeah, you'll need to do something that makes it cost something.
It's a really annoying bug, but since Arachnos costumes dont cost anything to change the cost, it doesn't register as a costume change.
This is PARTICULARLY annoying when the damn thing reverts on its lonesome. It also tends to change your weapons options in alternate costume slots, even the Crab backpack, often resulting in horrible costume costs for simple changes.
/bug it and maybe let Arbiter Kim know. -
Quote:^ This, just slightly Off-topic.Sorry, but you're wrong. Inf is money, however much the devs or anyone else tries to foo-foo it.
You can use it to pay your rent. You use it to buy pretty much ANYTHING in the game. It can be traded, given away, etc. Heck, check the market thread. You can even invest it now.
Inf=Cash. End of. It just is. -
Quote:^ This. But, the ability to ping someone for a duel outside PVP zones is, by its very existence, something that PVPers would be imposing on others. So the requestor is essentially showing anti-PVE (or anti-minding-one's-own-business) sentiment in wanting to do it at all.
I'll go you one better than that -- let's imagine I'm not asking for, but already have the QoL feature of "being free from duel requests," and PVPers came in and asked to remove it, and trashed us for wanting to preserve our currently-existing feature.
The "flag to turn off duel requests" would protect us from being bothered for approximately the length of time it would take an 11-year-old to type "SET FLAG!" into Broadcast.
"SET FLAG!"
"SET FLAG!"
"SET FLAG!"
"SET FLAG!"
"&%$@%! SET FLAG!"
I can just imagine what Pocket D would be like.
I may have to purge my cerebral core.
No. Just plain no. If they can fix up the PvP zones, I'll be more than happy to duke it out with people. But not when I, and others, are trying to get on with what we find fun in-game. -
For Science!
What Science you say?
MAD SCIENCE! BWUAHAHAHAHA!
/ahem
Yeah, very much approved. Welcome to the Dark side, little leaguer

-FKZZZT!-
...
I think my optics just exploded in self-defence...
That, and I'm going to need to replace at least three cerebral coils...
Ow.
Really, really Ow. -
Great work as usual, SteelClaw ^^
This...actually really makes me want to make a proper 'teen-hero/villain'.
We shall have to see...=P -
Quote:You obviously get luck, or have enough of a threat rating that the pumpkin heads will aggro on you just from being there.I don't get why people rag on the guard the magic mushroom exit mission, I can solo it on my MA/Inv (I think he's invulnerable) scrapper. All you do is run back and forth between the two entrances they use and hit them before they get there. You won't get them all but you don't need to.
Most of the time? They simply ignore you and leg it into the gate. This requires AoEs to actually aggro them and, usually on a melee class, thats rather hard.
Hell, even on other classes, its been damn hard. -

Quote:Everyone forgets the SWAT Grenadiers. They also happen to look damn cool.Actually, this is fairly true of VEATs as well. The difference being they're more fleshed out to make them more unique than they originally were.
Normal Fortunatas basically just have psi attacks. They don't have a bunch of team buffs. Neither do Banes and Crabs. Widows just attack with claws and hide, which a Stalker could easily fill. Aside from flashy visuals, Crabs and Huntsmen basically just shoot at you with guns.
Epic PPD could be similar. And they do still have unique things they can do. Ghosts and Equilizers for instance, two very annoying units to fight, which have some unique aspects. Ghosts are a ranged cloak that crits and has mezzes. Psi-division, yes, is basically just psi attacks with some empathy. But that's not to say they can't give them a unique flair like they did with the Tactical Training for VEATs. Power suits can easily be a crab-like character that has good defenses with ranged attacks. And who wouldn't want to be a police drone?! (Okay, that last one is a joke)
Yeah, this and the Rikti AT are the two I keep begging for

Quote:No Face. Want. Do Want. Do want now.Hmm... You know, I think I have to retract my "full transparency" idea and instead replace it with this - aura costume pieces. Not auras ON TOP of costume pieces. Auras INSTEAD OF costume pieces. Like, you have no upper arms at all, just fire where they should have been. Or you have no head, just a glow. That opens up a lot of possibilities.
No legs, no face, hovering limbs (think hollow armour) all those sorts of ideas...so very cool, and would be so awesome to have. -
Or start giving us NPC style parts in game, ah la Vanguard and Romans, although NOT with the silly price tag that VG parts have.
Seriously, I don't get the big deal over not giving us, say, PPD parts on Heroes (or Villains, not biased me) and the like. Nemesis parts is another one, Column and Council...hell, they gave us Arachnos kit (albeit somewhat limitedly).
Why is it such a huge issue? -
Quote:At which point I say;exactly this. "I have a ps3 so I hate Nintendo and Xbox"
"well I have an Xbox360 and I hate Nintendo and Sony"
"well I have a Wii and I hate Sony and Xbox"
*slappy nerd rage ensues*
"I tend to like all of them, but, unlike SOME PEOPLE, I can only afford one."
Before knocking their heads together while they try and fathom that, and steal all the consoles on the way out.
What? I'm a Villain, damnit!

Quote:Greetings: Unhappy Mission Players
Thanks for bringing this up everyone. I originally worked on these missions when I was first brought on to the team way back when. I remember having technical problems with it even back then, but I thought we got everything taken care of, but it doesn't sound like it.
I'm going to look into this mission and see if I can remove the 'stupid' and add in some 'fun'. Look to later patch notes for an update and thanks again for bringing this up.
Following Statements: Preceded by respect
Self bowing: Before the master
As people have mentioned, the spawn rules themselves seem to have been broken sometime in the recent past, wether it was I16 or not is a bit uncertain.
Mobs have been spawning and delivering lines and things like that as soon as the players enter the map. Of particular note are hostages (bar those with scripted cutscenes or things) who deliver their inactive AND active lines at the same time, often before the mobs are aggroed.
On that note as well, the mobs INACTIVE text (e.g. "We're gonna ransom ya for lotsa cash, kid!" "You'll never get away with this!" ) nearly always doesn't play until the player is actually attacking the mob. Which tends to result in wall of text.
Ambushes outta place and the like, you get the idea. Oh, and please, I beg you, fix the lvl 40 spawn in Sister Airla's mish. And give Ghost Widow the right HP and attack power. Or, if she isn't meant to give that mission out until level 40, please fix that instead?
Emotion: Gratitude
Prescence: Honours us
All hail: The Honoree!
((Yeah, I'm after your job

Quote:I nearly facepalmed. I DID grin like an idiot, shaking my head and chuckling at the same time.
I would like the Devs to serioulsy review this option because i have been wanting this for years now.
Sure, I'd love it if I could change some powersets that I might have messed up in the past. Or have my character who is meant to have martial arts, psi blast, empathy and super reflexes all in one bundle.
But it's not possible. So I fudge and compensate and, actually, it's still just as fun. -
Quote:Only the actual PPD officers are so much cooler?Biggest problem with PPD being a HEAT is redundancy.
Want to be SWAT? Roll a AR/Traps Defender or AR/Devices Blaster.
Want to be Psi-Cop? Roll a Psi Blaster or Psi/Emp Defender.
Want to be a Quantum? Roll a Peacebringer.
The only ones you can't already be are Hardsuit or Detective.
SWAT? Impossible to get an accurate look. Grenadiers and Ghosts and Equalisers, all incredibly nasty.
Psi-Cop...myeah, I'll give you that one.
Hardsuits. Want. Now. Please. Come on, especially the Boss level ones. Who doesn't want freaking cool armour and laser blasters?

Quote:^Whereas I ran through ALL of the RWZ arcs on my Brute, on Malicious (as it was back in the day), and got maybe something in the realm of 250-300.
Anyway, time to repost my wonderful list!
Things they need to do with/for Vanguard Merits:
1) Up the drop rate. Not everyone wants to or can ship raid.
2) Give merit bonuses for the RWZ story arcs.
3) Give a merit bonus to the Lady Grey TF.
4) Severely reduce the price of the Vanguard costume parts. (IT COSTS 200 FOR PANTS PEOPLE, 100 FOR A GUN)
5) Allow characters of any level to earn merits.
6) Find some way to allow players to use unlockable costume parts at creation. Account-wide unlocks, redeemable tokens (sort of like Vet rewards), or make the unlocks recipe-based.

All that gets a huge /Signed from me -
Quote:Even then, if you ahve 35 levels of backlogged Merits that you dont use (Like me, for example. I tend not to get enough for anything major) trading them in at 35 for VG Merits would, hopefully, pay for a chunk of the stuff I would be after, mostly the costume parts. When runnign through Techbot Alpha's thread about Vanguard merits, the same thought actually occured to me.
One issue I can see (not insurmountable) is that Vanguard merits are right now 35 and higher.
To keep that if desired, may require some new tech/programming.
Even if you created a autmatic recipe in the invention table that was a level 35 or higher, that doesn't gate anything right now. A level 1 can happily craft (but not use) a level 50 recipe.
I haven't tried this (and have no game access right now), can a lowbie directly purchase a high level recipe from merit vendors ? (I recall what is avaiable being level gated, but haven't really bought a lot with lowbies)
That may be a way to the level gating mechanism. Have a 'recipe' sold by the merit vendors for say 10 merits, that uses no salvage, and just a little inf for the crafting, an gives 50 Vanguard merits.
Idea gets my /signed -
Quote:Niether have I.So I'm deluding myself every time I laugh my backside off at the failures at life who see fit to hurl such verbal abuse my way? Quick, call the funny farm pronto!

My entire school life was spent at the receiving end of bullies. 8 years after leaving, I'm still alive and kicking. I haven't thrown myself into traffic, slit my wrists, hung myself or whatever's the preferred method of topping oneself these days. And I am FAR from delusional.
That doesn't mean I wouldn't go to town on the little bugs who made my school life absolutely bleeding miserable.
You're never going to get any headway on that one with me, CD. Some things you just can't laugh at. -
Quote:Don't give hostages or spawns guarding a killable NPC damage auras.Hey, guess who's back. I was gonna play for a while then start posting after my undeserved overconfidence came back, as I had to take a break, but i'll be damned Sam if you didn't just say the magic words right here.
Yesterday when I was designing my first mission architect arc. I noticed that many, non health bar, triggered events were immediatly initiated when I entered the zone. Events that trigger at a specific object health worked beautifly, but hostage and ally events all initiated immediatly upon entry of the map. I didn't /bug it because I thought that it was just the architect, but if others are noticing this outside the architect then it may actually be a bug.
gl all and have fun
They activate as soon as you are on the map.
It took me a while to realise why one of the hostages in Heart of Steel Pt1 was arriving with no spawn while the NPC lines showed their had been one. Until the time I saw his lightning field killing them all off in short order. -
Before that, they need to start whipping Jay some more until he gives us real tails. None of these belt-slot, string wire stuck on things that look awful.
-
So long as it's after I get my nice new rig sometime this year, then I don't mind

But yeah, upgrading the textures to the level of Vanguard and Cimerorans would be very nice.
Oh, and upgrading some of the older costume pieces. Even running on minimum graphics (Laptop. Thats all Im going to, and should have to, say) the newer costume parts STILL look better quality than the old ones. -
Quote:Tradeable would be nice. Here's the problem - they're not tradable, so even if you have thousands on one character, it doesn't help you any on another. Do people really have the full set of Vanguard armour on many of their characters? Because I have at least 15-20 in range of the pieces, and I don't think I have more than 10 pieces between them. I would be DEAD - literally dead in my swivel chair - if I tried to earn the full set for all of them. At this point, I've all but given up on that set and just make do with the Vanguard weapons where available.
I am very much FOR a reduction in cost and bundling of costume pieces.
*edit*
If you have 1000 Vanguard Merits, isn't that, like, two summons of the HVAS?
It's not like reward merits, where you get something big like IOs. It's costume pieces and small temp powers. Hardly game breaking.
I have one full set of Vanguard armour, on my character who was built as a Vanguard Colonel with a sword and shield. I think I got the weapons ONLY doing regular missions, which nearly killed me. Then I found out that (at the time) ship raids ran every Friday. I ran EVERY raid I could do, and had the costume in no time (I also leveled faster as I was so set on Merits, xp just rocketed while it was ignored)
Without the ship raids, it's nigh impossible to reasonably get a full set. -
Quote:Not to mention the fact they spawn at 40 even if you're level 37 running on +0/x1
Hardest mission I've run into is the one from Sister Airlia where you have to rescue Ghost Widow. A Ballista and about 25 assorted Longbow Lieutenents and Minions vs Boss class GW and a MM. Not pretty.
Glad I'm not the only one to find that bug horrible

Autocomplete you fail Thanks for looking into this Heronee, I mean Hero 1.
