We need New zones with New stuff to do. Period. I would be happy if some world event happeneds and IP got sucked into a black hole... and then could suck Boomtown into that same hole... and maybe half of the Shard...
It's not the nth time for new players.

And, if it go a revamp so it wasn't all fail, then it WOULD be new for old players anyway.
I haven't done most of the blueside missions, simply cos it's mind numbingly boring trying to get to them.
I remember the one time I managed to do the Striga arcs, and they were actually good fun. Getting to them was what made it nor worth it.
  4. Just...just...!

    WANT!
I'm going to get that new rig if I have to kill someone! Gods DAMN!
Keep it coming, P_P. Gods damn not being able to go to the US. DamndamnDAMN!
  5. Pick something you like the look of, find a dencent concept, ignore what other people play.

I find it helps more to play things you find fun. Me, for example, I just can't get into controllers or doms. Im a damage person. That said, I still enjoy my old main and tanker, even though I've never made another. Possibly because he's so hard to trump

As for powersets...hmmph. Not sure, tbh.

Any other mob thats not a ToT mob usually goes for the minions first unless I aggroed them first. Even then however they switch target to one of my minions instead of me but not ToT mobs, oh no. They are dead-set on removing my head from my shoulders. I could put my minions right on the door and put them on agressive, click the door and run a good 20 meters away.

The ToT mobs will push through my minions (even though they are damaging them like crazy) and head straight for me. This seems like a huge bug with the mob AI.
Just tested 3 times, I went as far as I could while the door was still opening and with 6 minions all firing, the mob was chasing ME down the street.
As the others said, sounds like ambush coding.
The sort that, y'know, ignores [Hide] as well?
    God I hate that coding...

Still. They die the same as everything else. Fill the buggers full of lead.

Or on laptops which are only about three years old.
Some people just can't afford decent rigs. At least now I can build one with the help of Uni friends that will be decent spec for decent price.

First was Faultline, then Hollows, and those turned out pretty well on the mission progression front. We also know Baumtown is on the list of zones to revamp.

However, revamping missions, and redirecting storylines, takes time and resources. Time that the developers haven't had in the past. As I understand it, Miss Melissa (War Witch) was pretty much solely responsibly for the Hollows rework... and that took how long?

For the most part, the CoH devs simply haven't had the resources to go through and do a comprehensive review and reassignment of low-level missions. We do know that Going Rogue is intended to provide a new introductory zone to get players up to speed on the game basics. We also know that a large portion of the development team is doing nothing but working on Going Rogue.

We've had a steady trickle of new developers showing up on the forums. Arbiter Kim and Dr. Aeon come to mind. We're started to see the studio expansion take shape and produce results.

So yes, this probably is a good time to start poking the developers to schedule for early hero content revamp. However, I don't think we should actually expect anything to be done until after Going Rogue launches and developers are available to review and modify the older content.
    Not before GR, certainly.

But saying people should plan ahead for this?
You shouldn't have to plan ahead in a game unless you want to. I dont mean tactics and stuff, I mean picking up missions. Sure, you can carefully plot which arcs you do, min/max the rewards and all that, get certain temp powers and unlock different contact streams.

That shouldnt be mandatory. Not by a long shot.
And given the Devs have in fact made a new, and better contact system (The window pop-ups for the Cim contacts, Megs Mason, Ashley Mcknight etc) we KNOW that it is possible. Yes, it will take time, but whoever got anything worthwhile without spending time on it?

They should make the Security Chiefs actual, decent contacts. They give you one hunt mission or something piddly. Include more about the zones they are in, the groups you are fighting, stuff to really get your teeth into. The Petrovic Brothers, the Hellions and their obsession with Satanism, The Family and their Supradine ring and stuff. It could be fantastic...but all the old content is lacking in comparison to the new stuff.

I'm happy to follow bracketed notes, even.

If I see another half vampire half werewolf half demon with faerie blood and cat ears who's immune to psychic powers with a mysterious past as an assassin, I'm going to puke.

    Edit: Oh, and part dragon.
'Immune to Psychic powers' usually, on Union anyway, comes from people being sick of people reading their characters minds without permissions. It just becomes a reflex to come up with a reason after a while, to save yourself the hassle later.

The stupid hybrid characters though, yeah...we have out fair share of them, too. I should make a Hybrid-Hunter character Just for laughs.

Also, on the note of registering, Villains I see as less likely to be registered. The registering and such is a game mechanic. As is the stuns and stuff from Lost and whatnot. You just have to handwave some of it.

Example; Lord Atom is an irradiated mad scientist who wants nothing more than to set the world aflame. Arachnos probably don't like him, not after the third irradiated base and all. I dont really want him registered, but that doesn't mean I should have to kill him off when I happen to lose a mission, does it? That detracts from the fun. So, given hes a something of a mad genius, I figured he could hack into the teleport network for short bursts, just enough to get him out and patched up. If Arachnos send people after him, well, their loss

Game mechanics are sometimes maleable. Else they quickly get too restrictive.
  11. Fully agree with ya Sam.

This is why I keep facepalming when Posi goes on about 'New Content over Revamps'...
Has he PLAYED some of the old carp blue side? Its bad. No, its not just bad, it sucks worse than Lusca trying to take someones face off after the big girls been on lemons for a few weeks.

Hunts are BORING. Talking to PvP contacts and Security Chiefs is BORING. This is Emmert Legacy, back when people were expected to street-sweep to level up and suchnot.

Posi, guys, I emplore you. I17, I18, whichever one, someone take out the garbage and give the game a much deserved revamp in the missions department.

I don't remember what level he was, if he was under 35 or not, but just want to remind folks, you don't have to have the badge to start collecting Vanguard Merits.
    That shouldn't be happening.
Also, if you got 13 Merits on a Ship Raid and you were teamed, you should be able to sue for utter fail.
Ship Raid = about 400+ merits, on a mediocre run. A good run can be upwards of 500+.

So, you DO need the badge. Anything else is a bug.
Doesn't mean I LIKE it...Access from level 1 would be much prefered.

    Y'know, this always puzzles me.
Despite the game being set in a world very similar to our own, in a timeframe identical to our own...

Why are the cellphones bricks? Why is some of the architecture so out of whack? It feels, at times, like we stepped into a comic from the 80s, not the 21st Century.
One of those little things that really, really bugs me. Yeah, its somewhat trifling, but I do hope that the look becomes a bit less 'Retro' at some point in the future.

    Problems: Listing
Late Addition: Hard to get close
Low level character: Liklihood of dying: Have to run back from hospital
Playing on slower/older computer: Large build up of lag

    List: Potentially longer

I have a serious question. Does anyone actually find Hunts fun? At all?

All hunt missions seem like the one step up from 'Talk to the PvP Information person' missions, and suchnot.
Maybe it is just me, and I need to go log a charge-up cycle....but hey.

The 'Rude' was more aimed at the people who basically told me to naff off during the invasion. Yes, that paraphrasing.

    No, not really.
    I shouldn't actually be surprised.

I guess this is why people who actaully have small ideas that might actually make a little but nice QoL change give up and stop posting.

It's either so big that it gets labeled as game breaking, or so small that its not worth the time. Or simply a silly/troll idea anyway.
  25. Customised standard groups end up with their level ranges all out of whack.

So, a mob that is meant to only spawn from 30-34 might end up spawning from 32-54...
    Very, very wierd.

At least I fixed up my arc (Heart of Steel, see Sig) so it works fairly well.
Wish they would just let us fully customise standard mobs, but there you go.
