Yeah, the faces were stupid...
But, tbh, the dialogues tyle (note, not the dialogue itself but the style) was fairly close to some of the stuff from the old G1 cartoon. But yes, Bay does go far OTT with the slightly corny American humour. -
Quote:Its quite possibly true...I think Perez Park is thew most likely zone to get a makeover rather than a rebuild - it's similar ot the Hollows, with the same punish-you-for-being-low-level design to it, so a trainer, hospital, repeatable contact and resized mobs would be a good way to make it more user-firednly.
Given I actually forgot Perez existed until just now Oo -
Quote:I would bet heavily on the spinning gunkata to be the nuke. Its too cool to not be, really. The only other possible candidate is the strange 'rain of electric bullets' move, which I would guess to be something else.My current hope/speculation is that the PBAoE effect used there is a mini-nuke. It's far too long of an animation to use in regular play. It looks to be somewhere near Total Focus cast time of over three seconds. It looks cool, surely, but if I'm supposed to execute a power like that as my normal attack chain, that'll kinda suck...
Also note, that in the video, he didn't use Aim. The powers used are apparently Build Up (from secondary), Power Boost (secondary), Conserve Power (secondary; good odds he was using Energy Manip), and the red glow is apparently Ammo Change. From that, we have a few possible solutions:
A) The set has no Aim at all, like Assault Rifle. I hope this isn't the case, since it would mean pairing Pistols/Devices would create another damage boost-less combo, and I don't think people want that. AR and Devices already get a lot of flack for that, and I hope the devs are wise enough to avoid extending the problem, especially with a new set that tons of people are looking forward to.
B) There's no Aim per se, but there is a new Aimlike power that we didn't get to notice. Melee sets have a lot of variety in damage boost powers. Build Up, Rage, Soul Drain, and Follow Up. Personally, I'm hoping for a Follow Up type power where we can get rewarded for rapid-fire DPSing with a steady damage boost. It'd be a unique thing to give the ranged ATs.
C) There's some sort of damage boost like mentioned in A or B, but Posi simply didn't use it for some reason, or he did but we didn't get any good visual cues to signify it.
D) Some fourth option we can't yet fathom. Like maybe we get crits or something.
So, we'll just have to wait and see!
Either way, people suggesting and speculating builds is kinda pointless, given the Devs seem to have the build pretty much done and dusted. -
Heh, all too technical for me. I'll bow out of this one.
I just, y'know, steamroller stuff the usual way
but fair play and good luck with the builds.

Quote:I actaully like the second movie more than the first. The first was just a T&A fest from Miss Fox, idiocy all around and a general lack of character. Oh, and bad camera angles. The only thing I hated is that the DvD I got had a version that was only mostly remastered. The nice crisp animation suddenly drops to the old fuzzy Betamax-grade quality when Wheelie points to the spaceship for the others to use.
And that was one thing I really liked about the 2nd Bayformer movie; Wheelie's remake. I. . . .kinda like him as an RC Truck Decepticon that jumps ship the moment he realizes you can choose who you are.
"Who's a good little Autobot?"
Me: O_O; What the heck?! Why are you. . .doing that. . . do his leg? OMG! That's so much more awesome than the little rhyming version.
It's guilty pleasure of mine for enjoying both live action movies.
RotF felt...well, kinda epic. The battle in Egypt, and especially the Forest battle, actually had me on the edge of my seat. It did help that they made Prime NOT get mauled all over by Megatron. And there was much more canon stuff in there. Even though its still Bayformers, it was at least watchable

Ech...why provoke? Why Acrobatics?
You're a Bots/Traps MM. You have FF gen.
I could post just the standard build I'm using atm. I can't quite solo AVs, but me and a friend blew the bolts out of Posi and Valkyrie at +2. Both Bots/Traps.
Also, go for Scorpion shield. Protector bots + FFgen + Scorpion shield = a ludicrous ammount of defence. And thats just vanilla IO'd. If you add in hover and some good slotting, you can really push the defence numbers into the obscene. -
Quote:Like the guy who was attempting to run a Ship raid on Union with specifically made team builds he had drawn up. As soon as he said 'Who here has a kin?' I knew that it was only going to get worse. You MAY be right, for the very limited amount of content you specified. LRSF, STF, and ITF are pretty much the only times when incoming damage is going to be so significantly high that the bonus health and numbers from a Tank would really be "necessary," depending on your team makeup. When I do those things, I tend to have at least 4 of the team be support such as Corruptors or VEATs, and we have no issues keeping Brutes alive. So me and my friends won't be dropping everything to take a Stone Tank.
Now, there more than likely WILL be SOME people who are calling for Tanks, specifically Stone, for LRSF, STF, and ITF. But the amount of content those things represent is rather tiny. I don't see any people shouting that they have to have a Stone Brute to run newspapers, or to do Ghost Widow's arc, or to run a respec trial. And I seriously doubt that's going to change for the vast majority of people.
Yeah, there will always be people who think it's physically impossible for a team to function without a Stone + Kin, and if they fail it's because they didn't have enough Kin. Or delay starting an ITF for 30 minutes looking for a Stone Tank and ignoring the perfectly capable WP Brute over there. But you can hardly consider those people to be the norm.
So I took over ^^
I've run ship raids before, and that was the first time ever that anyone had come up with that sorta garbage before... -

Urk...Not what I thought this would be about. -
Quote:I don't think there is a typeset to put /SIGNED in big enough...I'm going to keep this post as simple as possible, as it's a simple idea.
Allow players to define parts of the body, or the whole, as ghost / invisible, so that they're no longer visible (A bonus option would be an ethereal look, but that's not the idea for this suggestion)
Allow us to keep armour / clothing intact as we choose. The idea? Ever wanted to play a headless toon? Turn the head display off. Want to play as a floating suit of armour? Hover + ITF armour + invisible body.
Keep everything animated / connected to it for simplicity. This would be a purely cosmetic change. More development / refinement could come later when time and resources are available.
Want. Do really, really want. -
Quote:Speak for yourself.yeah, i figure red will mix stronger. Brutes > Tankers. Corrs > Defenders. EATs bad, VEATs good. It seems that unless you're willing to shell out the influence to get permadom, a controller is better than domi though. And Stalkers and MMs will be left out in the cold with 2 sides not really wanting them for anything much.
You've obviously never seen 2 MMs steamroller +2 Positron and Valkyrie. Or a team with 3+ MMs obliterating absolutely everything stupid enough to get in the way.
Oh, and a Stalker can solo a Ballista. People always poo-poo them for no good reason.
Not everyone is so snarled up in min/max dps and stupid carp like that. -
Quote:Amen. You do realize that people run teams that don't necessarily have copious amounts of AoE damage, debuffs, controls, are fighting AVs/GMs, or have a Tanker trying to keep aggro? Not all teams are looking for utmost efficiency, I'd say most are just looking for fun and XP.
You also realize that knockback, thanks to ragdoll physics, is basically a free 3 second Hold that's far more common than actual Hold powers, right? Not to mention that Bosses can be knocked back in one shot, whereas they generally can't be Held without two applications.
Of course, in the end, the two most common sources of these complaints are from melee players who can't bear the thought of pressing the forward key, and people who are far too concerned with squeezing the maximum XP per second out of their team. Thankfully I'm not obligated to team with either.
Tossing a mob around thanks to my Assault Bots missile racks never fails to make me giggle. -

That is what DP IS. The Devs have nearly finished.
So...be happy with the fact it looks awesome. Im willing to bet it will play awesome too. -
Quote:I still can't believe that's not been fixed...Wait wait wait.... if you're JUMPING.... how are you walking.... like walking in the air or something? Cause if that's what you're talking about, I know a few citizens in the basement of Town Hall that can show you how to do that.
Oh, and the flailing Rikti in the vanguard base on the autopsy tables, broken since I16 I think
heh

God...I still love the G1 Movie. Bayformers ftf, Transformers ftw

Quote:Some players might. It's pretty easy to imagine that the scale of geometry/architecture/mob changes made to RWZ or FL are almost as big a job as creating a whole new zone. But players don't see it as anywhere near the value of a whole new zone...
I can understand that position. It's probably right that the devs don't expend too much energy doing full zone revamps, as they get better bang for their buck elsewhere.
But I don't think that Posi's statements discount zone makeovers akin to the hollows - or maybe even adding a zone arc or two. It's the full zone geometry/architecture work that's wasteful - and I don't think DA or the shadow shards would need a large-scale geometry rethink to make them actually serve a purpose and be visited/used more.
I know I don't, for one.
But yeah, thinks like Astoria and Boomtown HAVE the architechture and everything just fine. Hell, all the 1-25 Blueside zones look fine. What they LACK is content, connected content and ease of getting to that content.
New shinies is NO GOOD if you can't GET to the level you need to be to play it, usually 35+
Sorry, bug-bear of mine...YMMV.
Hollows polishing was awesome, anyway. I wish blueside especially would get some more. -
I am Techbot Alpha.
I approve of this approval.
To CityOf, and a bright future!
('course, that might be because of all the stuff I've set fire too...hey, what'd ya expect? I'm EVIL!) -

Dunno if it's more, but I'll keep campaigning for it anyway;
Revamp the pre-I6 or so CoX zones. Contacts, missions, the works.
Also make the train line a bit more user friendly. Especially putting a station in Faultline.
Aside from that....hmm.
I like your idea, Westley (even if you dont have the same avatar week in - week out
)
General little changes like making the City Information booths do something, costume overhauls for the likes of the Outcasts (boring much?) little things that would probably add some spit and polish.
All I can think of atm, my cerebral core is in the slow lane this morning... -
Short Answer: No
Long Answer: KB is the inegral part of a number of sets. Sure, it can be annoying. That's not the sets fault. Thats the fault of players who...damnit, 'Need to lrn 2 pl4y!1'
-shudder-
Anyway, there have never been, are no, and never will be, any plans to remove/change KB as it is, going by what the Devs have said and an educated guess on how these things work.
Even when playing main tank, KB has never been this huge problem that people claim it is. This is why God gave us Taunt.
"Oi! Get BACK here!"

Quote:Oh no, sometimes it's not even a person.
And then getting pushed off the darn thing 30 seconds later by some random person!
Your character just magically shifts a few inches without anyone touching them.
This happens an awful lot in Pocket D...very, very wierd.
