Quote:Fix'tMy best estimate is that City of Heroes shut down their servers back in 2008 when the last three subscribers died of bird flu.
I don't know why people are so anxious to know more about Going Rouge. I mean, there's the two new powersets: Dual Pistol and Adolescent boy Summoning. There's that new zone where everything is clean and crime is severely punished: Singaporia. And side-switching, where people can now play for the other team. Do you really need to know how high ninja run leaps in the Moon Base, or which Praetorian Clockwork transform into jetbikes, or how many nipples the new ultra mode body sliders will max out at? I actually envy you guys, who don't know all these things yet, and can still be surprised by x-ray vision and that new emote BaB made for Dominatrix with the Cheeze Whiz and the velcro (that might not make it to the live build, so test the 3D task force with the special glasses *as soon* as you get into the beta).
Arcana is made of win, as ever. -

Meh. Never really had any problem of that on Union, which is the unofficial RP server EU side. Once or twice had people doing something in local in PD, once in Cap while trying to RP with two friends, IC supergroup invite. The two in Cap were just people getting a kick out of ruining other peoples fun, so we simply moved. Problem solved.
I will say it does seem there is far less tolerance of...well, anything in the US. Which amuses me for a number of reasons, none of which I till touch on because I don't want to get a Rikti Mob throwing me into a Riktification Pod (Actually...I wouldnt say no. All your base: Belong to us)
As for it being 'creepy'...well, so are many things in life. So are people, right off the bat. Its like, omg it's teh interwebs, our kiddies will get raeped!' Worse things happen. Every single day.
Yes, you do get some stuff that is probably fairly 'Meh', on any scale. Then there is stuff which you might expect to find in a slightly more mature novel. Its like any RP, you get the dross, and then you get the quality stuff. -

Dub Step sounds like a much cooler name.
Wish I coulda thought of something like that. If I had any character slots I hadn't used/reserved, that is >_> -
Quote:^ This gets my /signed every time.I agree with them to a certain extent, and I know they've said this before. But they've had two successful revamps in the past, being Faultline and RWZ. They've also had very unsuccessful new zones, like Shadow Shard and Croatoa. There are examples in favor of and against revamps and making new zones.
I can see from one standpoint that they'd prefer to come up with new stuff rather than redo old stuff. So while I agree that that's a decent standpoint, I don't think this was a definitive answer meant to mean they'll never bother updating stuff again. Because some new zones fail, and at some point we'll have more zones than we know what to do with (blueside already does), and over half of them will be total ghost towns (blueside again). A healthy mix of revamps and new zones is the best way to go in my opinion.
Or, from another viewpoint, would you rather have 50 zones where 5 are used, or 20 zones where 15 are used? Of course, the optimist in us wants to say 50 zones where 50 are used, but there's no way people could divide their attention between that many zones. I also personally feel it's sloppy to have a dozen or more zones that nobody goes to as well. Or even zones that people only go to for one reason, such as Cim.
RWZ is basically one of my favorite zones, since it has content for both heroes and villains, a task force, a zone event, and plenty of story arcs to do for a wide range of people. It's an example of a great overhaul that went over really well, and the model to which future revamps should be done.
The Shadow Shard should be the next revamp, done in the same way. Give stuff for everyone to do, give some nice and friendly (and SHORT) task forces, with zone events and other things to do. The zone has a tone of potential and lore that were never finished. Now's a good time. Oh, and let villains in too.

Quote:Yes, I recently got the vet pet. It's small, its out of way, untargettable and has no attacks. It, in effect, does nothing.1. We don't get vet pets already. You do. And people with a lot more time than I have do. Not everyone does.
2. It doesn't do nothing. It spams attacks. Useless attacks, granted, but do you want to see 8 of these on every team? Maybe cut the cost some, but keep it high enough that most people only get it on one or two characters.
Those who want the badges from raiding have to do 10 raids minimum, earning (from my experience) 200-400 Merits per raid. So that's 3000 or average by the time you've got the badge. A full suit of armor (minus shield and/or weapon) is just over 1000 merits, and the salvage sack is 500. Perhaps 1500 or even 2500 Vanguard Merits for the pet instead?
As far as the transform goes, I'm not so sure. If that adds to your character, like Granite does, it seems too much to include attacks. If it replaces your character, well, I've never been a fan of that form of transforms. Plus, those powers make it look better than either Kheld form. It would have to be a single use click with a set effect time, or a toggle with a duration. Way too powerful for a permanent power.
Why would you want to go to all the trouble of getting 9999 VG Merits for a pet that has attacks that does...nothing? Maybe pay 25 merits for a mini-HVAS model that follows you around like the vet ones. Maybe a few little ones, like a mini-Rikti Chief or something. Monkey sized.
Also, Yes, I did mean a form that replaces your current attacks and all that.
Hell, make it a power that you can toggle on and off, but it (the suits) health bar stays the same. That probably screws with Standard Code Rant and such, and would be a nightmare to code. So maybe just a stick a timer on how long you can use it. And then you can 'buy' more time with it, that sort of thing. -
...for 9999? I don't think so...
What'd be nice is to have a wearable VAS.
Now, I know Vehicles as, say, travel powers are technically impossible as of right now.
However, Shape-shifting is not. And my proposal for that'd be thus;
The LVAS would be a scalled down, stripped down version of the HVAS, maybe without the frontal armour and, essentially, having a cockpit area. So, slightly larger than Granite Armour or Dwarf Form, but still small enough to fit through doors and such. (Maybe with a tad of clipping. It doesnt kill anyone!)
The LVAS would be be either a self-contained toggle-power, or a clicky transform power. Either version would be unslottable.
The LVAS would either have all the HVAS powers with a slight scale down on power, or slightly different power selections.
For now;
Light Vanguard Assault Rig
Set ammount of HP, Regen, Recovery and Res. Exclusive to other armours
Plasma Blast: Moderate damage (Energy). A single shot with one of the rigs arm mounted Plasma Cannons.
Plasma Barrage: High Damage (Energy), - Regen. A high powered volley of Plasma fire, that deals high damage and slows regeneration.
Frag Grenade: Moderate Damage AoE (Smash/Fire), Knockback. A standard MkIII Frag from the Grenade launcher mounted on the back of the LVAR.
Seeker Drones: Disorient, -DMG, -ACC, -Perception, Low DMG(Energy). Two seeker drones deployed from the back-mounted rack.
Air-Bomb: High Damage (Fire) DoT, Knockback. A large explosive round fired from the back-mounted launcher. Slow recharge but good damage.
So. Just my idea. Would need building and animating and all that schtick. But more useful than a 9999 cost pet that does nothing. We get them for free with vet rewards. -
Quote:^ this always bugs me. Sometimes it'd be nice to have variants to make the line a bit less clear cut, especially if you want to make a characters that isn't actually either (robot, demon, etc)I actually wouldn't mind the abiltiy to switch geneders on costume parts. Specifically I'd love to be able to use female heads on male bodies. I have a female character who uses the male body for her power armor because I don't like the armored female costumes (especialyl the fact that they have a bullet trap on their center fo mass). However because it's a male body I can't do a power armor without helmet costume, I have to either go fully armored or fully unarmored.
Would like:
-Kadabara Kills cigarette, on both men and women
-Skull mask from magic pack for Females. AND the jackets, hats, etc.
-More Female sit emotes! About 6 of them are the same! ALL of them! Thats criminal. And the bench sit with arms over the back of the bench.
-Some decent, casual t-shirts and stuff that aren't skin tight on both male and female.
Theres more. I need to make a list. See how much space on my hard drive I fill up... -
/No to the combination. Having /Trick Arrow as a seconday for Blasters would be quite cool, but having a combination where it'd be possible to have a weapon, 2nd weapon and othe re-draw stuff (MA) then...bah. No.
Do want more Blaster secondaries though. -
I'd say both Ninja's and Mercs need some work on them, mostly due to the Stealting Tier 2 pets, Spec Ops and Mk 2 Ninjas (Cant remember the name
)
The idea behind them is good, just a bit clunky, especially given how...uhm...'dumb' the A.I in game can be (I wont use a ruder word
I get sick of my bots doing things like running up and punching AVs in the face)
Overall, taking time to work on Pet A.I. would probably solve a few problems, but that'd also be rather labour intensive, by my reckoning. (Somewhat ignorant, make that) -

Quote:So? Villains get the Vergil Tarikos SFI have no problem with having villain-friendly ways to unlock emotes and costume pieces, but I'd like to second the notion of a Hess SF. Villains need a lot of SF love (although I realize GR is the priority, just mentioning this for the future), and taking the time to add SFs will make more sense once GR is with us, since at that point side-specific missions will theoretically be able to done by anyone.
But mainly I mention the idea of a Hess SF since that actually makes more sense than the current one where you have heroes working for Arachnos.
...what, you didn't know that you were working for Arachnos in that TF? Read carefully next time
Where you end up wanting to throttle the little old...watsit.
-
There's no level requirement or anything, RP (good initials, I approve
), nor AT restraints. KG is open to any good RP with a character that could work within the rules of the Regiment. (See the handbook page) Even then, they can always be Arachnos units from other groups, auxiliary units or similpy affiliated with any of the other groups that will (hopefully) be taking part as well.

Maybe make Hamidon require better tactics than simply wailing on a massive sack of HP with the Ubercheat of all attacks? (Untyped damage, you glutinous ****!)
Like, Hamidon itself does middling damage itself, but at increments (3/4, 1/2, 1/4 the usual) summons the Giant Monsters around the Abyss/Hive to come help? Makes a change of pace from the Cheatcell. -
In this weather?
You ARE off your trolley! Oo -
Dynamic music for in-game first, please. Running your own music is easy enough already.

Quote:Make it so that, if pushed too many times, Civilians run away. Getting jostled by anyone, super or not, hero or villain, will cause most people to get the heck away from them, whatever the heck they are tryingYou know, it never, ever occurred to me to "grief" the NPCs. Until you mentioned it. And I have to admit it would be tempting . . . .
Keep the waiting ones down to 2-3, regardless of zone. Some people don't realize you can click on the upper part of the door, too.

Ok, good to know.
There did seem to be a phase (pun not intended) where Hide DIDNT stack with temp stealths. Which probably means I deleted them all off my stalker. Ah well.
I'll get a stealth IO one day anyway, just to beat those peasky Rikti Drones and KoAs! >_< Evil. -
Veruca Salt from the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, correct?
