The Ultimate Team

Since we can make our missions super hard, I think we should have buddies with us.

And don't say make an account lol. I mean make 4-6 other heroes to follow you around.
That is one of the only thing we need! Well and a nemeisis ; )

Marvel Ultimate Alliance can do it, I think we can too! Though it would be pretty laggy : P But that is mostly if you have a team og Masterminds. : P

I know you all going to say it is bad and it never going to happen just like the Powers and Going Rouge lol.

Rogue. I should stop being amazed at how many people still typo that.

I think that probably covers it. You can have buddies with you. Its called teaming. Or being a Mastermind. Although then its less buddies and more 'cannonfodder'.

So...if you know this is going to get a general 'No' stamp from all and sundry...why bother with it?

Power, what the heck is your new avatar?

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

If you want 'pets' with you, make an MA arc or three that includes a lot of pet-class allies that you can put in there, and then you can run around with a full team and get what you want.

As for the real game? No thanks. It's an MMO. Any reason to stop making it worth your while to find other people to play with is a bad idea, IMO.

Looks like the gals from the show "Charmed".

Edit:
This suggestion is one of Power's favorites. Usually it's along the lines of "Hire NPC's to go on missions" or "Have your alts (under AI control) go with you on missions" or some variant thereof.

It is. When one hero dies they can be sent to the hospital until you get there.
If you only have 5 heroes with you then you still need 3 poeple for some of the TFs and many teams for the raids ; )

When you've managed to get on as many ignore lists like Power apparantly has it's understandable why you would want to be able to hire NPC's to go on missions.

I wouldn't hate being able to team up some of my toons in a single mission. Maybe it could be implemented as something for AE, with diminished rewards in place or something?

@craggy see me on Union for TFs, SFs (please!) or just some good ol fashioned teaming.

/hide and /ignore makes Power a lonely player.

Ignore?
Power isn't that bad.
Granted, he posts some bad ides (some of them repetitively), and his grammar is in bad shape, but his spelling has improved noticably since he started posting here. I can read his posts without having to stare at the screen for several minutes.

His posts lack the trollish intent and the level of general hostility and thrown insults that make for a good /ignore candidate in my book.
Maybe I'm just too forgiving, but there are only two people on my forum ignorelist, and three that used to be, but were dropped when the forums moved to this new format.

Never ran into him ingame, though. I have no idea what he is like there.

He's not on my ignore list here either (I don't think we've met in the game), but I do know a lot of people in-game that are a less forgiving. They flat out won't team with people that can't communicate effectively in chat. They won't respond to illegible tells, and if the sender persists they get /ignored.

I've ignored people, or added a note when people have been unable to communicate well. I suppose if we could bring along a few alts as bot-controlled teammates we wouldn't need to worry so much about this. A real team is obviously better, but there are times when I'm happily soloing but get stuck on a mish where I maybe need one or two extra hands to soak up some of the damage/numbers or dish some damage out. I don't think it's a terrible idea, but there'd have to be a bit of planning and restriction to get it working in a way that wouldn't discourage real teams.

Don't forget unbalance the game. Picture a team of MM's complete with henchmen, that has also summoned the max number of temp power pets allowed.

Oh and thanks for confirming that people are choosey about teammates that have poor communication skills.

definitely a possibility without restrictions being placed on such a feature were it to be considered

I'd suggest that the temporary pets reduce the XP/Inf much like "damage caused by a force not on the team" and remove a share of the drops, much like a teammate.
This would reduce how much it is used to make farms super fast and easy, by hopefully reducing the reward by as much as it reduces the time to clear the same area.

Grab the temp pets from either:
A) A roster of the named bosses from the Mayhem/ Safeguard missions. This would also be a good excuse to expand the roster.
or
B) (Maybe, probably a bad idea) A roster of existing NPCs? Want a Malta Gunslinger as your sidekick?
or
C) Your own Alts, but under AI control. Problem: Would allow custom buff-bots, and the AI will be sloppy with using a full builds powersets correctly.

I can see A or maybe B. C would probably never happen just for the reasons you just stated.

Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!

If we are doing some wishful thinking, the pets I'd like to choose from are the ones we unlock with our gladiator badges. This would give the added bonus of giving people another goal to work for when earning those badges. I don't like PvP/Arena but I wouldn't mind having one of those guys as a temp pet in regular missions.

We don't need any villians on our side lol. Or the Longbow : P We should have our own heroes fighting togather. That way poeple who play around 10 PM-3 AM where there is no one on can play with a team. The best part is it is your own team.

It could be like, if you have 8 poeple on your team all your heroes friends go wait in a base so it won't be super laggy. Maybe even make it so you can't do the TFs without players with you.

This could be I19 : P or 18.

In general, I like the notion of having the option to acquire one or more "assistant" toons that could help us from time to time in specially crafted missions. It could be yet another thing in the game that we could do missions to unlock.

We already have a similar mechanic. This would be an adaptation of the typical canon/AE mission trick of having you rescue a pet who then fights with you for the rest of the mission. Or the Amy Jonsson pet temp power from KHTF.

It also resembles the time-honored AD&D game tradition of running content to acquire NPC adventuring buddies.

If we wanted to do it, we'd first create an arc (like the Fusionette arc in Faultline) where you could be introduced to a NPC. Then, in later missions, you might be given a "$NPC" - a variable pet - as an aide or optional aide, probably in missions featuring an EB where you are solo. If you had done the Fusionette arc, Fusionette might be the NPC aide selected for you. Or if you'd done the Eden Trial, then maybe Slate (one of the heroes you rescue) would pop up.

Additionally, if we wanted we could do something similar with foes. Let's say you defeat a named hero/villain in a mayhem/safeguard mission. Well, that same NPC could return in future content to settle the score.

Of course, we wouldn't want to keep running into the same specific foes over and over, or constantly reduce our challenge level by having a helper all the time, but if these ideas were implemented it would give us a tool for partial customization of a player character's storyline.

So you want to get rid of

The Shivan Shards
The War Whistle
Amy's Ward
The Clockwork Connection
The Coral Amulet
Creeper Seeds
The Demon Box
The Arachnos Combat Radio
The Loa Bone
The Rikti Drone
The Summoning Amulet
The Vial of Bees
The Snow Beasts
The Longbow Mech
The Arachnos Mini Blaster
The Vanguard Heavy Power Core

Or you could simply make friends. Join some global chat channels. Form your own teams. You know, stop being lazy and/or anti social.

Westley has posted a challenge more than once on the forums where he is willing to log onto any server at any time, day or night and show people how easy it is to form teams.

No one takes his challange tho. It seems it isn't as hard to find teams as some people want everyone to believe.

No, I love my big blue : p, I just don't care for all the gladiators since most of them are minons, Lts, or Bosses : o I want someone as strong as an Elite. : P It will only splite the xp apart a little bit, it would be just like you are on a team but you made them! : D

Having EB's would be a bit much. I know I just don't need that much help. Watching the purchased pets slaughter everything (and take that big of a cut of the rewards) would get boring for me.
Having Minions, LT's and Bosses sounds right. You could grab one for a minor help, many for a bigger amount of help.
I only see this being useful for my weaker solo'ers in my stable of characters, and they are the ones who would be great buffers/support for these pets. My FF Defender would almost be no different (should she grab pets all the time) than my Bots/FF MM.

First, I'm glad to hear you don't want to get rid of them.

Second, while I understand that you may not like all the gladiators, can you at least recognise that there might be people that like the ones you don't like? I know I personally have my favorites. If we were allowed to choose a gladiator as a temp pet we'd get people choosing some because they were the most powerful and others for purely roleplaying/concept reasons. I'd fall into the latter category.

Finally BBQ's right the devs aren't going to ruin game balance by giving us pets as strong as EB's. Minions, Lt's, and maybe Bosses are the best you'll ever see.
