Yup, the trial is set up so that when you or your teammates complete badge requirements, everyone on the team earns the badge.

Quote:The other downside to the munitions pool as a whole is that the lethal/smashing shield is an Auto power and thus -severely- reduced in strength. I think it starts at 7.5 resistance to both? Low enough to the point it just doesn't make enough of a difference in survivability, versus the toggle armors.Besides Bonfire and Snow Storm which have already been mentioned, there's also LRM in Munitions. Its a sniper ranged AoE attack. If you like attacking from range, this might be an interesting opener option. It hits pretty hard (slightly less than a normal snipe) with a wider radius than Explosive blast and strikes up to 16 targets. In fact, it deals slightly more than half the average damage of Nova, but with no crash.
The only downside is its recharge is long: 240s. That means even fully slotted you're only going to be using it maybe once every two minutes. But on the other hand, slotted and with BU stacked on it LRM will kill even minions outright. -
At 20 you get the option of leaving Praetoria to go to Paragon or the Rogue isles, but it changes your alignment to Hero/Villain. But with First Ward you can choose to stay Resistance/Loyalist and keep playing. But you still don't have access to anything but Praetorian Zones and pocket D
-
Quote:He's Praetorian, without going to Primal yet, so he's locked to just Nova Praetoria, Imperial City, Neutropolis, Pocket D, First Ward, and Night Ward.If you're 24, freeze your XP, run Stephanie's arc in Striga, get the ring, unfeeze your XP, run the Hanson Brothers arcs till you get to 30. Or, as an alternate after Stephanie, run the Croatoa arcs. The Croatoa arcs unlock the Katie Hannon TF, and the Hanson brothers unlock Ernesto Hess. Always nice to be able to run those TFs. Both routes should get ya to 30 to start Night Ward.
-
Yes, there will be other ways of unlocking Hybird eventually.
it's no different than when the initial slots were opened and we just had Baf/Lambda. Future trials will have future iXP and there'll eventually be a solo option ala Dark Astoria.
It's just going to take time. -
Night Ward's frankly isn't much better. It feels like it's got a better end but it's missing a lot in the middle. Probably because it's half the contact chain size as First Ward.

Quote:Actually doing it perfectly minimizes the size of the battles. Royally screw up and you fight a lot more minions.
I like the idea of this event but the Heist portion needs a little more time in the oven. Mostly I just find the fights you have to deal with to be out of place. The whole idea of the heist is to pull it off perfectly without being found out, but you're forced to fight 2 battles after being tracked to your hideout. It would be nice if doing it perfectly prevented the battles. The first few times I played this I thought that the team had screwed up somehow.
Quote:The strict time-limits don't really give you time to relax and enjoy the heist because you have that pressure to do everything correctly. Also, the Thief job requires you to do absolutely nothing besides click on glowies and walk down a hallway. There's no challenge there. -
Oh, probably want to switch it over to a Thread drop event too. Or maybe keep it shards -and- include threads, as the only hybrid style event in the game atm.
The sewer trial wouldn't be a bad idea too, breath some old life into it.
Actually I'd love to see a Dark Astoria based TF too. Or at least some kind of zone event ala Adamastor, etc. -
Yeah, recall that too, which is just absurd at this point. A single Emp for the reward would hardly break the bank and you could just as easily form a full team and do Dark Astoria missions, even repeatables, to farm both kinds of iXP in comparable quantities.
It simply isn't a valid reason anymore considering how the incarnate system has grown. And I just want to see more incarnate level task forces in addition to new trials and solo content, Apex and Tin mage are the first and last 50 only TFs in the game so far. That just doesn't seem right. -
Just some idle thinking earlier. The Apex and Tin Mage taskforces are currently the only non-trial Team incarnate content but at the same time, they're not. They came out so early that they just aren't up to date with 'modern' incarnate goodies and they really didn't come out that long ago.
They were designed at a time when just the Alpha was out, so for instance you get the Alpha level shift and you have access to any higher incarnate slots but you get no Incarnate shifts from your T3 Lore/Destiny slots. The enemies are all Level 54 and, as far as I'm aware, award no iXP of any kind.
And the reward? A single Astral or a chunk of reward merits for something that's as long as a BAF/Lambda run. (Sometimes even longer depending how fast your server does SLAMs)
So as the 'initial Alpha Strike' these Taskforces just have not aged well in light of the trials and Dark Astoria and they're not even that old. As it is they're just kind of the fairly unloved middle stepchild of the lot, pretty much run -solely- when they're the Weekly Strike Target for a Notice of the Well. That just seems wrong for 'incarnate' taskforces.
So, what should be done? Well, the mobs are already the appropriate level, I don't know if they have the increased ToHit of standard Incarnate mobs but they could at least drop iXP for the trouble, maybe just one type per Task Force?
And bump the reward from one Astral to an Empyreal merit. Maybe set it up like the trials so doing badge requirements awards an astral? (even if you've got the badge). That last could be too much, but then Astrals already drop like candy these days, a few more I don't think are going to break the bank.
Though for level shifts, I could see a case for continuing to only allow the Alpha shift. I mean let's face it, the Task Forces aren't exactly hard and a full team of eight 50+3s could probably steamroll it harder than it already is. Then again, they'd probably just run a BAF/Lambda anyway >>
Just some food for thought. It just seems a shame that these two rather well done and fun task forces are kind of wedged into this limbo of 'incarnate but not really' content and could offer up a small team option for folks that want a lil more than Dark Astoria but a little less than a full on trial.
And just as a comparison, the rewards for every other end game task force award a common Shard component (worth FOUR astrals) or merits or the Synthetic Hami-O in the case of the Statesman/Recluse TFs, and for the most part those TFs all spawn 50-51 mobs (again, Statesman and Recluse the exceptions, without bumped difficulty settings). -
That's probably Praetoria's greatest sin. It's hard, but not so hard that teaming wouldn't solve it, but you don't want to team because then you shoot past the arcs too fast. It's a handy little paradox that has just pushed greyside empty among all its other problems.

Quote:No one said they had to, but there's a specific in game reference to this particular one.I am more curious why everyone has to have an praetorian counterpart.
And there are plenty of characters that don't have praetorian counterparts and vice versa. As far as we know, there's no Primal Katie Douglass or Nadia. Nor Praetorian Maria Jenkins or Blue Steel. -
I've so far run Scirroco's and Black Scorpion's.
Of the two, I'd definitely say BS's was the easier. Mostly because of the Elite Boss at the end. Serafina is a -pain- to fight. -
Well you'll still get access to Soul mastery once you complete his arc anyhow.
-
-
Well, that's okay! It's why we have the choices in the game. If it's not your thing, it's not your thing.

Yeah Vanessa's is the end of the First Ward string, night Ward starts separately with Mistress Maria.
I'd run the repeatables ad nauseum. Vickers (everyone), Road Flare(Resistance/hero), Mr Caldoun(Villain/Loyalist), Trina Furst(hero/resistance) and Angela Hu(villain/loyalist). At least 3 will give you missions. A pretty good variety too.
And as a point of note, Mistress Maria starts at 30, but the follow on contact (no spoilers) is locked at 31 :P And Maria's arc is short, to the point you likely won't pop up a level completing it.
Luckily, there is also Fireball, Trilogy, and the 2 Night Ward Repeatables Sir Lionel and Atherton Cromwell, all 4 of whom are open to everyone. -
No missions isn't the same as no arcs. You don't have to have missions active and chosen for the arcs to be open. Browse your Active list and see how many contacts have book icons by their portaits. If they've got books, you may have too many open arcs and will have to finish them. I -believe- it's books with a blue bookmark, green bookmark is a separate category.

Quote:Potentially something you won't have to deal with in the future, if pool customization is indeed part of the 'pool party'.Do you also avoid the use of inspirations unless your character's head glows different colours as part of their concept?
I'm happy treating the Hasten glow as an in-game effect not visible in the character's world. I'd much prefer it not to be there, but its not a game breaker for me.
People who point it out in-character on the other hand can be really annoying
As for Hasten, if I feel the character needs it, they take it. I don't often feel they -need- it. So far just my dominator and illusion controller have it. it's certainly nice to have, but I haven't felt it would be the difference between a bad character and a good character or even a good and a great. Perhaps I'm wrong, I've still got plenty of high level characters I have a lot of fun playing and generally don't have a lot of trouble pushing through content. -
Mmm, could it be you have too many missions/arcs open atm? Might prevent him from giving you access
-
No one is touching hasten
We don't know what the plans are for power pools but they hinted at customization for the graphics and adding 5th powers (to which, we don't know, possibly all remaining pools). That's all that's been said, there hasn't been so much as a hint about anything happening with hasten. -
Always been curious what Dream Doctor meant by the Mender Silos from Faathim's reality.

Quote:You.. mean like they did with Dark Astoria? And the Signature Story Arcs? The game has been pushing along non-Praetorian story elements for a while. Praetoria has been 'the star' with the Incarnate Trials and new zones, but it's hardly the only show in town.This. Let's see Recluse, Nemesis, Countess Crey, Requiem and his lieutenants, The Center, Malta, Circle of Thorns, Freakshow, Primal's Devouring Earth, Vanessa DeVore and her Carnival, Clockwork King, the Coralax and their Leviathan, Emil Marcone, King Midas, Rularuu, or the Skulls and Hellions be relevant and at the front of a story again.

Virtue definitely has no problems using the LFG to jump in without pre-forming. Victory... has been a bit hit or miss, without some prodding via channels anyhow.
