But I'm not looking to turn this topic into a /Rad vs /Kin
both are great it just depends on what you do and how you do.
[/ QUOTE ]
This was never my intention since both are great sets and as I said I'd rather have a full /rad than a full /kin team..
I do however have issues with a bogus "guide" like that which missleads people and written by a guy who obviously haven't got a clue what the kin set is about (and rad it seems aswell).
EDIT: I already have a fire troller so don't think I want to play another one for a while though. Sounds really fun though -
First, I would agree that I'd rather have a full /rad team than a full /kin team but I would much prefer a mix of the 2.
Have to say I strongly disagree with some of points in that Chuck Norris guide.
[ QUOTE ]
As for things dieing too fast at higher levels... Well, probably no other Villain team type is going to GET you to those higher levels than a /rad team.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm guessing it should say "as fast as a /rad team seeing I'm pretty sure other sets than rad have reached 50...this could be a myth though?
[ QUOTE ]
Plus, as a /rad team you'll be fighting purples on relentless at higher levels - And not many 4-6 man teams can keep it together against such odds.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure I've heard stories about other ATs/sets than rad has done this...this, again, could be a myth apparantly.
[ QUOTE ]
All Kinetics really has going for it in this kind of strategy is Siphon power, and all it does is debuff the enemy's attack damage by 15% and increase yours by 15%.
[/ QUOTE ]
Erm....what!?!? Only thing!?!? And it's 20% not 15%.
[ QUOTE ]
Kinetics also uses a point blank AOE, rather than ranged AOE, meaning you have to make yourself vulnerable to alpha strikes before it goes into effect.
[/ QUOTE ]
Rad has to worry about alphas aswell. A controller team shouldn't worry too much about alphas though.
[ QUOTE ]
A radiation Emission team, in contrast, can (at range) debuff an entire group's accuracy, defense, resistance, and damage output down to nothing - And the effect is a constant toggle as opposed to a one shot AOE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah...because the Kin buffs/debuffs only lasts for a second!?!?
[ QUOTE ]
-Siphon Speed is not needed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Erm...what!?!? Agree that stacked AMs are awesome but who wouldn't want extra recharge??
[ QUOTE ]
-Increase density has no use in a /rad team, where you nothing will be able to hit you and you'll kill them the mobs too fast for them to do anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
ID is always nice to have as mez release or before going in to take an alpha...which he seems to believe won't happen for some reason.
[ QUOTE ]
-Speed boost is totally unneeded.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again...what!?!?. I want more recharge dammit!! and all the end i can (try) to chew trough.
[ QUOTE ]
-Inertial Reduction is totally unneeded.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah....why would anyone wish to have unsurpressed vertical movement??
[ QUOTE ]
-Transference is totally unneeded to this style of play.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure....good thing there isn't any mobs in the game that will sap your end...oh wait.
[ QUOTE ]
-Fulcrum Shift. Again, all it does it debuff damage and buff your damage. And do you really want to wait until level 38 to get one of the only three secondary powers that is useful to the /rad team style of play? I don't think so.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes...who would anyone want one of the absolute best powers in the game
[ QUOTE ]
-EM Pulse. Again it fits the mass AOE theme of /rad well, but ultimately isn't required when you consider how powerful your massed toggles already are.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah...a fantastic AoE hold...why would anyone want that!?!?
[ QUOTE ]
-Lingering Radiation. PBAOE with 25 radius. Decreases the attack speed and movement speed of all effected enemies for 30 seconds. Not essential if you've got the other two debuff toggles running, but it still fits the /rad team theme well and is useful against tougher foes like Heros or Giant Monsters
[/ QUOTE ]
Should say that it has a big -regen. This is one of the absolute best powers in the set. This power makes a 5 minute AV fight into a 20 second fight but I guess that wasn't worth to mention. Oh...and it's AoE not PBAoE.
[ QUOTE ]
Conclusion: The vast majority of the Kinetics line is useless to the /rad style of team warfare.
Just about every /rad power IS useful to this style of warfare, even if a few of those powers aren't actually required because the ones you already have are SO powerful that anything more would be overkill.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well....just can't take this seriously... -
Im game on the heroside (seeing I havent got any decent lvl villains...PL me goddammit!! )
Either with:
Arch Nemesis, ill/rad troller
Arch Chavriel, earth/kin troller
Arch Ned, grav/emp troller
Arch Jackson, fire/kin troller
Arch Sector, ice/storm troller
Bad Sector, kin/dark def
Chav, invul/ss tank -
oh dear....I must've had a brain meltdown at that hour...sorry.
-
AFAIK range enhancements only affects the range at which you can summon the Lightning Storm.

[ QUOTE ]
Naaah, Archy... Trollers suck, that's why I would never ever play one
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, and they are under-powered and need some love, right gang?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah.....why wont anyone think of the trollers!!!! -
Hurrah! another one has turned to the dark side!! err...or the good side....some side....whatever....
But yeah.....trollers rock!!! -
Fire/Dark.
Have solo'd mine to lvl 28 now with no problems at all. I use Darkest Night to herd back onto Tar Patch and blasts them with Fire Ball and Fire Breath....works wonders.
Only times I get killed is when i get knocked down/back
(knew I should've taken the leaping pool before the speed pool )
+ you will still be very very good in teams. -
There's basically 2 reasons why corrupters are typically being singled out to take down first:
1: Their secondaries helps their team with buffs/debuffs thus making it harder for the heroes to take down the villains.
2: The fact that they have lower/no resistances/defense/hps than most other ATs (much like controllers/defenders/blasters on the hero side)
Corrupters are basically monsters in PvP...especially when they get your hps below 50% -
Glad to hear customer support have acted swiftly here
Guess that means we can start planning our next raid.
I'll have a chat with the other raid leaders about a time and date -
That felt damn good
I'm truly sorry some didnt get the HO reward for all the hard work.
We will see if we can tweak the strategy when we figure out what's causing it.
Thanks to Generalissmo 2 for doing the PA tests with me and all the PA droppers....did a spiffing job -
hmm, I would say Warburg since it's the most balanced zone powerwise but Siren's is just a better built zone....especially with the rewards and temp powers.
-

[ QUOTE ]
This means we wont have Perma PAs like on previous raids but we will try to get some flying kinetics to buff us in the air.
[/ QUOTE ]
Another Kin Defender stepping forward for SBing the PA droppers, if u need me, drop me a msg. @Funky see you all there
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice one....send me a tell @archy and I will set you up for the PA team(s) -
Grats Psy....well deserved as always I presume?
-
grats Gonkeh

[ QUOTE ]
I will be there.
I won't be doing the 'everyone get out of bubble after mitos stage and stand around while there is general confusion about what is going on' stage.
I plan just to start the hold phase while non-holders just clock up 1 hit then move out of the bubble.
There is no chance of getting Hami down to 75% point while this take splace and its unneccessary and confusing to people.
[/ QUOTE ]
The reason we're doing the "everyone out of the bubble" thing is remove every possible additions to lag in the jelly while the holding team is going at it. That's why Novocaine runs around killing everyone with Hami's AoE who may have lagged out or something else.
Please follow the raid plan....makes it easier on everyone -
right...I totally lost track of time so we better do this.
We will do this:
Sunday the 6th of August at 6pm (1 hour before the actual raid meet begins.)
Send a tell to me @archy
I hope it's because of people not reading the forum that theres not more interested in doing this so if you know some of the other usual PA droppers please let them know -

Also take into consideration that Heroes already got tons of HOs and already has their share of spec Hamidon-chars
[/ QUOTE ]
HO's on CoH Union are still VERY rare as Hamidon has only ever been taken down 3 times on here. There are one or two fully HO'd PvP toons out there who transferred over from the US servers but other than those, Bludd will probably already have more HO's than any other hero on Union.
Main reason is that while Xanthus runs Hami farming sessions on Defiant...
[/ QUOTE ]
Tons??? There have been 8 succesful raids on Defiant since launch...thats hardly tons.
Xanthus has lead 3 raids succesfully before i7 and 1 failed after i7 over a course of 4 months.....hardly farming
Personally I've got 5 Hami-Os which I have accumulated over the last 17 months...Bludd has gotten 5 in 2 months...anyone but me see a small imbalance here? -
Hey Guys
Seeing as Generalissimo 2 and myself have done a lot of testing with PAs over Hamidon I would really like to see how it'll work with more than just the 2 of us in there.
call it practise before the actual raid next sunday.
Anyone interested in do a bit of testing?
I'll wait a bit before posting a date/time for this.
so far:
1: myself (Arch Nemesis)
2: Ruby Dragon
3: Righteous Bob (I'm guessing )
4:... -
[ QUOTE ]
You never know when that extra 3.5% could save your life
[/ QUOTE ]
about 3.5% of the time? -
It didnt use to be capped at 5. Prior to issue 5 (i think?) there was no AoE cap on it...thus making it silly overpowered....ah how I miss those days

Healing Aura and Radiant Aura heals more or less the same amount of hp
[/ QUOTE ]I'm quite sure healing aura is more powerful.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I'm quite sure the difference is neglible. -
Healing Aura and Radiant Aura heals more or less the same amount of hp and rad offers much more protection and damage potential with the debuffs....but hey...if it floats your boat
