    I'm with you on that. ^_^ I go in to zones/arena on PvE builds for a sonic/rad corr or a storm/dark defender. The way i offset the mez they put on me is to apply mez to them. It usually gives me the time i need to retoggle or back away and rethink things.

    Dark - ToHit Debuff, Cone Immobilize, AoE Disorient, Self Heal
    Elec - Recov Debuff, End Drain, Hold
    Archery - No Debuff, Disorient, No Crash Cuke
    Dual Pistols - Def Debuff (lost when ammo is changed), Res Debuff (lost when ammo is changed), Disorient, Slows (Cryo Ammo), Dmg Debuff (Chemical Ammo)

    Didn't touch Energy or AR. Never tried them.

    If it's between Psy and Rad, i would personally go Psy. The knockup is a pretty quick recharge and you can make the mob look like popcorn on your tar patch.

    I have a dark/sonic i love however it has no real "control" when taking on a mob but the resistance debuff makes up for it. Dual Pistol/Dark is pretty effective too if you swap out the ammo. The KnockBack in the normal ammo messes up a tar patch strategy.

  4. If i recall correctly, a player from Pinnacle (?) came all the way to Guardian to attend the raids b/c they heard about them (maybe). I dont recall what what their level was but here is the chat:

  7. Not sure if you are aware, but if you put the recipe in to WW/BM there is a button under the recipe that says "Search for Salvage used in this recipe." It will pull up all the salvage for the recipe on the same page. Just pay attention when you go to the next recipe and it happens to use the same salvage piece. x_X
  8. From what i was told, it has a chance of firing off each target. I put one in Dark Detonation on a Warshade and it fires almost every other shot. I find it to be really helpful.
  9. I just wanted to add some things. Last Saturday i was given the task of leading a team for the CoP trial and the RWZ raid. I have done the trial in many ways without completion. Yes, with good balancing on the teams it can be very quick to just plow right thru (witnessed an Omega attempt). But doing the % method can be just as effective if ALL players listen (TA's first success used this method/first CoP trial completed on Guardian). We are not going for any speed records so we dont NEED to pull out and resync everytime there is a hiccup. Sure it might help but isn't a "have to" thing. However, i do believe that the trials need to have the goal of getting it done in the first half hour and proceed to call it if not done. Yeah it may still be possible but most players become unfocused and anxious leading to the obelisks constantly going down.

    As for the RWZ raid. Almost everyone that comes to the raid know what is going on. The ones that dont will ask their team lead or a sponsor what they need to do. Now that is pretty darn simple to explain. The grates are chosen by the team lead and was stated. The fact you didnt choose one is your own fault and cannot be pinned on EE. The instructions were all in request and all players had to do was read them and follow them. Everything was right there. I had a team member who just came back from a big break from CoH. He/she started out confused and was the one in broadcast saying that the pylons needed to be called. I corrected this issue by telling him to open request which was stated numerous times in team chat and broadcast. I did even more when i started calling out the pylon in team chat for my team. The player mentioned above even corrected me when i called out the wrong pylon b/c i was dealing with other issues. After awhile i stopped calling out pylons and watched my team on the map. They went directly to each new target without any hesitation. I had several players asking when the next raids will take place b/c they LOVED teaming it and how EE played. Also had 2 people (both on my team <3) hit 50 during the second raid.

    I know you as a player, slightly. I have done many TF's with you and you are/can be good. But quitting something you start just b/c it is going wrong or you want training wheels through the entire thing will give people the wrong ideas about you, whether you care or not.

    We all get frustrated and we all hate to fail but it does happen and we just need to realize it is just a game (cant believe i said those words). We're learning as we go.

    Note: I've had only a few hours of sleep after a night of overtime and i have another night of overtime to look forward to tonight. I'm NOT the greatest with words nor do i care at this point. The issues above went farther then they should have and will eventually die out. I just wanted to add my few cents.

  11. I am in no way an expert PvP'er. But... I do have a Sonic/Rad Corr that i use for PvP. Mine however is slotted for PvE so it's slotted for mainly recharge so i have Perma Hasten/AM in PvE. Since PvP has DR in place i dont see it possible to get it perma without some help. I could be wrong though so dont get discourage if thats what you want.

    Ok i just openned your build and first thing i notice is you are over cap on 2.5% recovery. You can only have 5 of 1 bonus so think about replacing it with another set bonus if possible. Besides that i dont see anything else as being capped. To check it:

    Second thing i see is the nuke. Great in PvE but maybe not so great in PvP. I've seen them used yes.. But it can be embarrasing if you nuke and the opponent is still standing and able to wail on your defensive body... I just asked in a channel with some hardcore PvP'ers and they question the point of a nuke in PvP as well. So consider it replaceable if you desire.. hit "Window" "Sets and Bonuses" and in the right pane under "Effect Breakdown" there is red letters saying "-Cap" if you have too many.

    That's what stands out from looking over it. Since i dont know a whole lot i wont go too much in to critiquing your build. Sorry. =/

    But i will say alot of PvP'ers rock out with SS and SJ combo b/c they take acrobatics for some mez resist. It is very possible to do without. You will also find them with leadership in their build. Assault and Tactics i think. Not all do that though. But it's a quick way to see the pesky blasters and what not.

    Hope i gave you something to think about and maybe useful. Sorry i cant be of more use but i'm still learning PvP. =D
  12. I agree with those before me..

    If it can be pulled off, Kin/Archery would be one of the best if not the very best. With fulcrum shift, BU, and great slotting i believe its possible to get RoA hitting at cap dmg. So thats around 730. Follow that with a jump out of the mob for a cone attack or explosive arrow and it should wipe all minions and LT's atleast at your current lvl. Atleast that's how i dream it. =D
    For mastery you could go Electric and take thunder strike for a melee AoE.. OR you could go Soul and use soul drain or dark consumption as an extra AoE after you fulcrum shift...

    First setup that comes to mind is..
    Primary: Kinetics
    Secondary: Archery
    Side PoolA: Fitness
    Side PoolB: Leaping
    Side PoolC: Speed
    Side PoolD: Stealth
    Mastery: Soul

    For the crazy hardcore people, i'm sure it's possible to do it without Fitness or Speed pools but to be safe that's what i came up with. I actually had a build around somewhere but i cant find it. =/
  13. The only real negative thing about travel suppression is the -regen it puts on the player. The fact it slows you everytime you do something is just not fun but it happens in PvE.. Just doesnt happen with every move like in PvP..

I dont PvP on much but i know the basics and i have my moments. ;D
  15. Wrote a big post then deleted it. Didnt like it. Wanted it more simple.

    I have a lvl 50 empath. Its all buffs/heals at the moment. I didnt get CM or Fort until 20's. I have had NO complaints about my play style to this day. My reason for slotting like i did is this: Fort is good yes, but not NEEDED in low lvls. Heals SHOULD be enough to keep any team alive and help out. As for CM, rarely in low lvls do you come across someone that can mez. One breakfree and possibly a wakie should be carried by ALL characters for emergencies because you never know what will happen. Also consider that ALL empaths/etc. will be the same and may not have ally mez protection powers at that lvl you are at... 7am and i've had no sleep. XD Wish i could get more in to this toppic but my brain says no right now. Just dont depend on a support toon for everything.. o_o I thin ki'm bias though as i play majority defenders,trollers, and corrs. All support toons really. And i despise when a team is so dependent on buffs that they wont move until everyone of them has them. We make mistakes. We forget buffs here and there. >_> The most popular saying "SB plz"... If you know your end is bad, SLOT better. Stamina 3 slotted with end mod is usually good as long as you have 1 end redux in powers and possibly 2 in toggles. OR if you are a tank/scrapper, run the NEEDED toggles for the mission you are in and dont waste end using the others. Not all missions require a tank/scrapper to use all their armor... And the biggy. SPRINT can be an end hog. So can the other travels... ;D

    Out of my parents growing up, my mom was always the smart one. My dad was all machines and stuff. I had to teach him stuff for him to get a certificate in something.. x.x And i did.. When she got off work she had a bowl of ice cream waiting for her.. ^_^ Oh and i never spoke to her again about this.. :P She is happpy i havent.. ^_^

    Yes you are correct. However the player is Auto-Sk'd one level lower then the range. So anything below 50 will be 49. A 50 remains a fifty since the max of the range is not less then 50..

    As for finding teams to do other things... Be the leader of the team and let them know what you want to do.. If they dont like it, they will leave and you can find more. If they dont mind, then they'll stay. There is ALWAYS people out there willing to team for stuff their lvl. You just have to find some. Use the request channel in game if you cant get people from broadcast. That is what it is for. Also there are server wide global channels you can join. As well as channels that go over more then one server... If all else fails post in the forums under the server you are on and see if that helps. =D There are more people out there looking for the same as you. I promise.. ^_^ Just be sure not to send blind invites.. ALWAYS ASK FIRST! It's polite..
  20. Ok so this has plagued me for the last time.. I'm coming to everyone for their theories and ideas to get to the bottom of things.. Heck.. It could have already been stated somewhere but i'm too lazy to look.. I even had my mom going over this with me.. O_O She wanted to strangle me b/c i confused her.. Now to get to the point:

    For hasten that is not perma, does the gap between each "tick" grow in size due to the excess time?

    My theory is that for however much excess time, it will lengthen the recharge bit by bit to a certain point before it goes back to its said recharge.. I know none of this may make sense. I probably sound crazy. I just hope SOMEONE can find an answer before i pull my hair out.. Back to topic.. I use MID's and the recharge it predicts is say 124 (70% hasten and about 80%or so global).. I always thought MID's took the recharge as if hasten was perma.. So in my opinion the 4 seconds it is off and down to 80% rech would have SOME effect on the next recharge time.. I could be COMPLETELY wrong about all of this but it is bugging me.. I am currently questioning myself right now as to whether i am wrong..

    Reason is bugs me so bad: i want to have perma dom and of course perma hasten would make for sure that i have it.

    Posting this.. I hope SOMEONE understands me.. If not i can try to find examples.. The only one i can think of would be leap year.. Every three years we have 365 days plus a bit extra.. And on the fourth year the extra is used.. Mom came up with that one.. o.o Posting.. Head hurts..

I would like advice/pointers on what YOU (the readers/smart people) think would be useful in my build.. I listen to ALL advice and choose what i will use if i see it works with my style of play.. IF any of you have a build and think its awesome and wish to show me, then do so.. XD I will not "steal" a build as i will want my own bit of "flavor" in it.. Ok.. I'm done talking now.. Be glad.. XD Cant wait to see what you all come with! And PLEASE refrain from breaking out in war.. Remember it is all OPINIONS and if you dont like someone's then shush and dont try to force yours on them..     [/ QUOTE ] That is an false statement.. It is neither one nor the other.. It is a combination of both.. If you take two people give them the exact same build i know for a fact someone could take one down but not the other if anything.. Reason is b/c a player is in control and has to choose what to do in any given situtation.. Slightest mistake could be your last type thing.. Example: Hitting a heal too late or choosing an long activation power over a quick shot.. Easily that could turn a battle in your favor or against (depending on who made the mistake).. I've watched countless duels (NOT SAYING YOU HAVENT) and noticed things that the person may have been able to do to last longer or actually turn the war completely in their favor.. So all in all.. It is NOT all about the sets nor is it ALL about the skills.. It takes BOTH to be good.. That also applies in PvE.... You may rebutle and i will listen to your view (if i sift thru all the threads again.. O_O there are soooo many).. Just stated mine is all.. =)
