Thoughts on Wormhole and Purple Stun Set

Currently, I have to grav users (controller and dominator) with a full set of stupefy on wormhole. The proc is wasted on it generally but the 6th set bonus is nice. I've gotten a number of the purple stun set (absolute amazement) in storage and was looking at buying the rest of the sets to slot.

And I've come to realize that most of the stun procs are near useless. Sixth tier bonus for the stun purple? Tox. Useless. Chance for to-hit debuff on the target. Duration is less then the stun, which makes the proc.... Just about useless. Hell, I'd argue that most of the stun procs are kinda useless.

So now I'm thinking... Just five slot it and move the extra slot else where (maybe to something for I19 taking powers)? Frankenslot it? Having some more range on wormhole wouldn't hurt.

Hmmmm.

Just a thought, if you really wanted to slot up the purples do 5, and in the 6th slot put a force feedback chance for recharge. It's a bonus of 100% recharge (pretty damn huge) with a 10% chance of going off.

I guess the big question would be if that chance for recharge is per target hit or per activation (I believe it is per activation).

Wormhole only takes stun, universal travel power, and teleport.

EDIT:
Wait. You're right, it takes kb too. Hmmm. Force feedback proc looks tempting. Going to see what the combined bonuses from the purple set are, see if I need any additional recharge, acc, or range on it. If not, the force feedback proc is an excellent idea.

From what i was told, it has a chance of firing off each target. I put one in Dark Detonation on a Warshade and it fires almost every other shot. I find it to be really helpful.

I like that proc on Hurricane Nice bunch of mobs stuck in a corner and I can spam gale like crazy! Rest of the KB sets are pretty meh to boo.

If you're going for stacking ranged defense, I prefer Stupefy over Absolutes; the chance for KB is a wash and I really don't care for it, but at that point, it's because I'm trying to maxmize the defense. If you are going for stacking recharge, recovery, and accuracy then I'd do 5 absolutes and not the proc.

I've already forgotten about most of you

It is definitely per target. I find it going off about 80% of the time in foot stomp. My Shield/SS tank has something like 60% global recharge, but I usually have permahasten due to this.

Although wormhole's recharge is a lot longer than foot stomp... it might still be worth it though.

Per target but not stackable?

Correct.

I also have it slotted in Fault and Tremor on Ryxx. For those who don't know, Ryxx is a stone/stone tank. He defsies could use the extra recharge anytime.

and only lasts 5 seconds. and, if I remember right, doesn't reapply correctly when still up.

It's only good in powers like Footstomp or wormhold, to be honest - AoEs that pretty much guarantee a proc due to target size.

To Shammy, I'd definitely do the FF proc.

Interesting. Last time I heard people talking about this proc, they thought it sucked over all, as it was only for 5 seconds. Knowing it goes by target does make it more viable in somewhat frequently used powers. My Blasters probably don't need any more recharge, but this could be quite nice on my Khelds if I could fit it in on some of their AOEs.

Clarification.

It's per target in a click power.

In a toggle power it will attempt to go off every 10 seconds. When it attempts to go off, each target stuck has a 10% chance triggering the bonus. This is how all PROCs work in toggles.

This PROC was extremely popular when initially introduced because a bug allowed the PROC to go off 100% of the time. Then the bug was corrected, many players dumped their PROCs. Statements about the PROC "sucking over all" was more about sour grapes then anything else.

My friend told me stories of how Energy and Assault Rifle blasters used to slot the proc in EVERY single power so the recharge was through the roof! ^_^ Then the 5 rule came in to play and they fixed the bug so everyone just tossed them in the trash. =( Would have been awesome to see the crazy recharge on Controllers when they had no limits to the number of pets they could have out. Not sure if that was during the same time. I'm not really an old player so all i get are stories. I believe i began in i12 or just after i13..

Unlimited pets were removed long before Invention enhancements were introduced. Issue 5 (August 31, 2005)

Ah, makes sense. Think I read those without knowing enough about how the proc works.
