Quote:1. I'll be honest, I think that merits are best collected in batches of 50 and converted to A-merits. I haven't run the numbers to see if there is any arbitrage, but I kind of doubt you are going to get a sweeter deal from regular merits.Ive been, sort of, away from the game for a while, and now that Im back Im trying to adjust to this bold new world, and am looking to liquefy some of my assets.
Consequently I have a few questions for the Masters of Marketeering, the Cardinals of Currency, the Gurus of the Green, the Pontiffs of Profit, in short; the Market Forum Regulars.
Question 1 What is the current effective inf value of a Merit (conventional Merit, not Alignment Merit)?
Question 2 If I have a large bundle of Merits, what is the best way to spend them if all I want is wealth? Is it more cost effective to do a collection of random rolls or just by up a premium recipe (craft it?) and sell that on the Market?
Question 3 What is the current effective inf value of AE Tickets?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
(PS: I apologise to anyone who looked at the thread title and was expecting a hilarious, deranged rant.)
2. Assuming wealth in in terms of inf, convert convert convert! I like the random rolls personally, but others swear by picking and choosing.
3. Not sure. The money in AE tickets has historically been in bronze rolls, but I stopped doing that a long time ago because choosing and crafting took a lot more effort than I was willing to give. Prices dropped a lot on most of these items, which partially explains my lethargy. -

You might want to consider joining the market channel and asking there (named shockingly enough TheMarket). There are probably a few people who may be interested.
You might also want to run some searches on this forum to see who has bought 51 and up HOs. It's a fair amount of work, but you might be surprised if you sent someone a tell and you have exactly what they are looking for.
You have a rare item, but one that is really not that useful to many who frequent this forum, IMHO. A level 53 Enzyme would have them knocking down your doors. And we are snarky. It's in the by-laws. But don't let that bother you and good luck with your sale! -
I won't outbid Organica by 1 (this time...) but your worst case scenario is to roll a lvl 10 3% def (easily sold for 1.8bn net on the market, much higher elsewhere) and then either random roll or pick a few choice spots. The downside for rolling the high priced items is that you have to sell them off market which is kind of a PITA in my experience.
Your initial price point at 3bn was in my opinion a good starting point, but also keep in mind that many people (myself included) on this forum are looking for a bargain.
I'll give Organica the bidders position, but I would bid 100mm more. That said, I'm also looking to sell AMs. -
There's more than a few for sale at far less than 2.5bn. Check out some of the other threads in the forum!

On the follow, still bidding 1.3 for lvl 50 shield wall proc, still bidding 1.85 for lvl 50 glad proc. Offering 400mm pickup to 50 from 10. (I'll sell you a lvl 10 glad proc for a lvl 50 and expect 400mm inf).
-
Never meant there to be any confusion. I will buy your level 50 Shield Wall for 1.3 bn, I'll sell you one for 1.99bn.
I'll also trade you a level 10 Glad Armor Def for a level 50 Glad Armor Def for +400mm inf. Meaning you trade me the lvl 50 + 400mm inf for the lvl 10. -
I very much enjoyed this movie. Haven't read the previous 10 pages of threads. I thought that if you don't mind some radical retcon (and Marvel is all about that) that it was a very enjoyable movie. Minuses for some plot holes, plusses for some totally groovy 60s costumes. Solid A from me, but take off up to two grades to B+ for aggressive retcon.

As I've read more of Pratchett's works, I find he is very situational. I love the City Watch sub-series within Discworld. It is well written and more or less realistic, given the setting. I do not care much for the Rincewind series, or the Death series, but that is probably personal tastes.
Thanks again for the suggestions! -
Still bidding 1.3bn for lvl 50 shield wall -- can buy up to 2 at that price.

Sold, ty!

I'm a low cost provider. And I don't think a respec is going to help you get it out from where you are going to slot it! =)
-
TY for trade. I can now bid 1.3 bn for shield wall 50 and offer at 1.99bn.

Quote:I will bid 1.9bn for a glad proc lvl 50. I will offer a glad proc lvl 50 @ 2.45bnUpdate as of 6-5-2011:

If anyone is interested send me a PM or global @Cornerstone and we'll make arrangements.

Incarnate powers took my grav/storm from being an amusing concept character to being pretty darm powerful. I think you'll enjoy the ride.

If we go Mad Max level, I think a loaded shotgun is going to be worth a heck of a lot more than shiny metal.

The best thing about this is that silver went so crazy because people who wanted to take a punt didn't have enough capital to bet on gold. Primarily a retail-driven scramble.

Great sense of humor about it too! Well done OP!

Quote:I kind of hope you will be right, but I'm going to guess something pretty close to the current rate via A-merits -- 30 to 35 for PvP.I'd say they'll be a lot more expensive than people have guessed so far.
PVP recipes are in the 25 to 30 A-Merit range and a v-rare Incarnate Component is 100 E-Merits or so? You can only get one A-Merit a day realistically whereas you can get 2 Emp-Merits per day with relative ease.
I'd say closer to 150/200 or so for a Purple/PVP recipe. Could easily be more.
The only thing I know for sure is that people are going to complain about it being too expensive and/or too cheap! -

I started working on my Freedom character for the first time in a while, and the first thing I heard in local chat was abuse for my character's name, how it was offensive and not PC. Frankly, I don't think a hyper-intelligent plant like Cerebral Parsley really gives a hoot.

Quote:Generally, the way to get that from the market is to check out the price history of the last five trades, the number of bids and offers outstanding, and the amount you can sell it for at the vendor.I understand I can check the market but that doesn't give me what I am looking for. What I am looking for is people's opinions. If there is a way to get those from the market, I don't know how to do that.
However, in this case, I'll save you a bit of time by suggesting you vendor them all. -
Heh, I thought both the Heinlein novel and the completely gratuitous action movie were both very entertaining in their own ways.
Back to OP, things get retconned because they think that it will sell better. Sometimes I read things that I really enjoyed 20 years ago and think to myself "boy that would never make a movie nowadays." But they already sold that book/movie to me 20 years ago. They are trying to get new (and mostly much younger) audiences. I don't blame anyone for that. But I don't plan on watching the Teen Wolf on MTV either.
