Not a different input device, but I enjoy playing the game zoomed way into first person. Try playing COH as a first person shooter. It feels like a whole other game. It is harder but also quite refreshing and the graphics really shine through.
-
This is definitely me. We all play the game the way we like. I like best about COH that I can be fighting all sorts of things and no I do not care if they are super villains. I like the fight mechanics in this game, I like the stories people come up with. I do not read comic books in real life, and yes I would be happy to play this exact game with a whole other theme. Deal with it lol

I'm just glad the haloween event is over. It was implemented this year so abusively. Standing at stores/contacts getting ganked making it hard to buy or sell or talk to contacts. And then getting a Kill X of Y mission and having no such enemies around.
-
Whatever you do don't give blasters better defence. I relish the galss cannon concept. Give them higher damage and LOWER their hit points. Make them paper cannons.
-
The only change I request is to make energy torrent not chance of knockback but gauranteed knockback. Then you could leverage it and plan around it instead of having things scattered all over and doing more harm than good. Have not played energy blast in a long while due to this so maybe this change was already made?

I have started an Ice/Pain corr and I'm enjoying the synergy so far. Its great on teams (for obvious reasons), but I'm also really enjoying it solo (much to my surprise). I hold a boss, share pain off of my buff vet pet and rail into him. I also will use share pain frequently solo to fight even when things are not held. I sometimes let it get dangerous and I love it. Kind of reminds me a little bit of defiance 1.0 for blasters. I think I was the only fan of that style of blaster play.
One question for Ice corrs - does the rain of ice and blizzard get increased damage with buffs? If I hit a +dmg power and then rain of ice or blizzard does it make a difference? If not that seems a major advantage to sonic (also good control) over ice. But I hate sonic's sounds after a while, gives me a headache :/ -
Get to know the enemies. It doesn't take long fighting them to know which ones mez and which ones don't. When you're up against something like longbow, you need not be overly concerned with using mez protection powers on team mates. But if you are fighting something like Lost and aberants are everywhere.... your mez protection may just be more vital to the team than your heals or damage.

My heroic character hasn't found the warden path because he hasn't had any reason to join up with the resistance who he sees doing all sorts of evil things.
-
Golden Girl, that is why I said in the early levels the loyalist responsibility line is "good". Sure, Cole is Tyrant and the place is run by an evil dictator but as a new wet behind the ears character, you don't know this. You slowly learn about it through the chain of contacts, and at the start of this chain of contacts you are doing the most heroic things of any other contact at the level - saving people, whereas if you do the resistance underground contacts you are doing purely evil things like blowing up hospitals and killing a man and his family (for no good reason).
Early on I say pure good = loyalist responsibility, and then you have the suspicious rebel, the evil violent anarchist, and the amoral glory hound. It changes later on along the contact line but this is where it starts. At the start of the game, the loyalist missions are either hapless good guy (you never do anything evil, you just have an evil boss and don't realize it) or at the worst, glory hound (the power loyalist line - which doesn't really do anything on the evil scale to equal some of the resitance missions).
Even coming to the end of the Imperial City contacts my characters doing resistance missions are doing far more evil than my characters doing loyalist missions. My resistance guy just tried to unleash a WMD on the innocent public. My gloryhound only took advantage to make himself look heroic to massage his ego. -
In CoV Beta there was a puffy pirate shirt that I loved. I'm not sure if it didn't make it to live or if it was removed thereafter, but its been gone for a long time now. If it is still in the database, bring it back!

Going Rogue's side switching kind of messes up the nomenclature of the game's archetypes and powersets. We will now have heroic stalkers and heroic corrupters. Also, I believe the original reason for not giving empathy to currupters and instead making pain domination was because empathy was seen as "too heroic". Well, that reason no longer holds any water so do you think we will ever see the empathy and pain domination powersets proliferate?
-
That sounds more like real life than games.

When I first heard of GR and the loyalists and resistance, knowing the Tyrant stories from the main hero side game, I assumed that loyalists would be an evil oppressive regime (not unlike Arachnos) and that the resistance would be the good guys. But that is flipped on its head.
The true evil is the Resistance line of underground contacts and the true goldenboy good early on is the loyalist responsibility line of contacts. I love how its inverse to what I expected. -
So make it a whip + more set. Copy the 3 whip animations we already have, and port them to a new melee set that has those plus additional powers not using the whip.
-
Loving the power but not a fan of the graphic. This entire set seems to have really loud graphics. I made the mistake of pairing it with radiation emission and I can't see much of anything on the screen now lol
-
Does power boost have the devastating effect I'm thinking it does when paired with electricity control? Drain super fast?
-
Why are people bemoaning this and not celebrating it? It means more people are playing the game! And it COULD mean that subscriptions have or will go up. That means more money and that means more content. I for one celebrate the greyed out Freedumb server!

Quote:Please please please make Soldier of Arachnos Fortification power's aura able to be turned off. I got this power on my crab spider today and it has ruined my wonderful costume, so I'm respecing out of it. Its a great power too and I wish I could use it, but style over substance for me.One of the projects we are working on is to create more alternate animations for various powers. The animators asked me which powers I wanted to have this applied to and rather than simply come up with a list myself, I thought it would be interesting to open the discussion to you the fans.
Caveat:
Powers with Alternate Animations will still have nearly the exact same Animation Lengths, so this thread is not about creating shorter animations for various powers.
So, let's hear it! Tired of doing Backflips with Eviscerate? Sick of beating your chest like Tarzan? Eyebeams not your cup of tea? Tell us about it! -
Fortification is a great power effectiveness wise, but can you guys really tolerate that aura? I feel the need to respec out of this power just so I can see my costume.
-
I finally started playing soldiers of arachnos and made myself a crab spider. Got Fortification because it looks pretty sweet on paper, but then I had my character envoloped in this horrible black aura completely obscuring my wonderful costume. Anybody know if there is any plan to make this power customizable so I can turn this thing off?

For something new and fresh, make a new ranged character and play exclusively zoomed in to first person. I promise you, it feels like an entirely different game. And if you have the rig for it, crank up the graphics. The graphical details you miss while zoomed out (as 99% of the time we play) are actually quite numerous. Zoomed in you really are kind of handicapping yourself, but it makes for a fun new experience.
-
These threads always surprise me. Not because I didn't know things were missing once (I was here with launch) but because quite often I didn't know things had changed.
-
I like the idea of the re-hide being much quicker than it currently is after you break line of sight with all hostiles.
I would also suggest making the hide power an inherent and adding a power to each secondary that:
1. Does no damage
2. Doesn't break hide
3. Doesn't draw aggro
4. Has a longish recharge
5. Is some kind of debuff or control
I'd like to see stalkers be able to sneak around and do something (not game breaking but something) while staying hidden.
