Quote:If you hadn't Gone to the Americas, I coulda showed you what a good Bot MM on Union is likeBots are my chief MM hate in the game actually. They're just so big and cumbersome compared to other MM pets. Don't like the constant clattering of them either. That said I've never particularly cared if they're on a team with me provided their master is halfway decent at making sure they aren't stuck in doorways or anything and their knockback is handleable and they don't tend to spazz out and aggro an entire room like the meleers.
Really wish the devs would remove the collistion detection between MM pets and teammates though, getting stuck / barged by them does suck.
But its the same way people moan about Kheldians (I admit, I was indifferent to them until recently) until you realise just how destructive they can be. As is any AT played well, really. -
Quote:Amen to that. Capped mire with a spawn, before erradicating them in Nova form feels...godly
Warshades are very powerful as an AT. They will perform fine with SOs, and can become absolute monsters with high-end IO set builds. Warshades buff off enemies, like kinetics, so they tend to do better in team settings and using different tactics that take enemies as resources to use rather than foes to be defeated. This is similar to the 'saturate invincibility with minions you don't kill while tanking an AV' mindset. Dark dwarf is quite a bit better off than white dwarf because of dwarf mire, but it is also even more redundant since warshades get eclipse, one of the best survivability tools in the entire game. Eclipsing, miring, and going all-out in dark nova form has been known to make people wonder why anyone bothers playing blasters.

It's an appropriate thread, as it helped me on the path of the Warshade...
Or, in my case, chittery death Nictus thing
evil is more fun, damnit!
And so is this. I finally understand the whole hype of Mire and shapeshifting in a shade. It's AWESOME, especially when you mire a whole spawn, morph into Nova, and obliterate them in about two shots with the AoEs. Incredible.
I haven't even got to Dwarf form yet!

I've only got one or two complaints about the KB from my bots in my time playing as Alpha. Usually from Brutes.
My response? Tough luck. You're rolling with the big guns, now, and I don't need no fury to make stuff die in droves
If any ever feels the need to kick me, fine by me. They'll be losing a lot more than 1/8th of their firepower, and general mob killing capability. That, and I can happily solo large mobs anyway, so...*shrug* While its fun to team, if people cant deal with my MM, its a character on whom, frankly m'dear, I couldn't give a damn
-
Kheldians are definitely worth it.
Roll a Warshade. No, do it now. Pick Nova. Pick Mire. Get on a team. Watch as mobs fall before you like grass before a scythe. A scythe made of purple negative energy plasma.
Was just on a team which had two PBs with Nova and my new Warshade on. Dear lord, the carnage! The Carnage!

The same can be said for a LOT of contacts blueside. If not all of them.
Cellphone needs to be given out quickly, especially if they have trans-zone missions. -
Old Ladies MM set first

And if you missed that thread, shame on you

I looked at hte numbers a while back, and Conditioning seems to give next to no bonus at all. It doesnt even have any numbers in the detailed info window, so...*shrug*

Certain things dont even exist anymore, like the models for Axis America Soldiers. There is a reason in the Baracuda SF why you have to fight renamed Council models; the Axis units got deleted when the 5th got shunted by the Council =[

Just to chime in on the whole 'summon exp' thing, I agree that Cysts give a pitiful ammount of exp for what they throw out. I mean, simply going from the screenshot I posted; Thats a whole carpload of minions, LTs and Boss Nicti. They con that way, they hit that hard. Judging from that spawn, and that logic, the Crystal should have given us the exp of about three mobs total. Im damn sure it didnt.
If Cysts gave a better chunk of exp or the Nicti gave exp themselves, maybe it would be less of a percieved problem. I mean, maybe that would mean you could farm them...but they are a random spawn, and one that has the potential to facerape your team. Sounds like a better risk v reward to me. -
Quote:A Rikti AT is something I am still dearly hoping for.If we got to play as a Mu, or a Tarantula, it would be a brand new EAT. I doubt that we'd get any more Arachnos EATs soon, but if we did they certianly wouldn't be expansions to the Arachnos Spider and Arachnos Widow archtypes.
I agree with what many have already said: we may well do, and almost certainly will get new EATs. But don't expect advancements in the current ones beyond the occasional number tweak. If I were to guess, I would guess that the next round of EATs would be either something entirely new to the lore, or the Rikti. Coralax are an option, but I see Rikti as being more likely as they could be open to both sides. I often see people asking for a branching PPD or Longbow powerset, but if handed a costume piece or two these are easily enough replicated with the current archtypes.
If we got some more, dare I say it, NPC parts, then Longbow and PPD we have covered anyway.
PPD Hardsuit AT, now, that I could get behind. Or a general 'heavy armour' set. -

Quote:Well, given Crab Spider powers force you to have and use the backpack, I could see something similar happening with a Mu costume that overrides your main one, gives you inherent fly, and then restricts you to 'Mu Costume' animations. How that would be pulled off at all is a whole different kettle of fish.I can't speak for Kheldians, but any change to Soldiers and Widows that makes them strictly better (via more options) is a bad idea. Why? Because they're already intensely overpowered in my experience, and they don't need to be any stronger.
That being said, I'd like to see the following allowed for the VEATs...
A Mu option, similar to Soldiers and Widows in execution but giving a combination of Elec Blast, Elec Armor, and Storm powers. The main issue here is, well... Mu costume doesn't lend itself well to certain animations... Like, most of them.
The option to make ANY costume slot a Spider/Widow costume slot. I love the Spider and Widow costumes and I'd like to be able to hold multiple versions at the same time... Especially as, like many, my Widow has one Fortunata build and one Night Widow build.
And hells yes to the costume part. Do really want, and more options, like no helmet on Crab, Bane and Wolf spiders. And more hair for widows! The choices are miniscule. -

Quote:In that case you might as well just roll a new character.I would go for a complete power set respec on one condition.
First I'll remind just why the devs don't want one. The answer is because it would be too easy to start out with a power set that is easy at the lower levels and hard at the middle levels and then respec into one that is hard lower and easy middle once you have passed the balance point.
Now here is what I would like to see. A complete power respec trial that lets you choose the new power sets but makes you start over at level 1. Then once you have reached the level that you did the respec you could create a secondary build with the original power sets. I would set the minimum level for the respec at about 30. So if you did the respec at 30 then once you had reached 30 again in the new build you would be able to switch back and forth between the two builds and powersets all the way to 50.
I dont think anyone is suggesting have TWO different primary/secondaries on the same character.
In my case, I wish I could change my secondary from Energy to Electric Melee. I dont want Energy melee anymore. At all.
But, meh, I dont really see it happening anytime soon, if ever. So re-roll it is. -
My favourite group based char has to be my AR/Pain Corr, Kayla Drake, and ex-Nemesis army adjutant;

Just realised I need to update them slightly. Ah well, it's still close. -
Time bomb is pretty high up there.
Serum on Mercs, yup.
Group fly. More fail than a CoT Demon LT. -
You have to make a new group and add everything other than the Custom mob you dont want.
Yes, it sucks. I hate it too. Unforunately, for some reason, there is no other way to do it. -
Quote:Aye, I wish there was a way to trade in a power pick for, say, three slots. Would seriously help out on Kheldians, amongst others. That second build is pretty good Tech. Basically how I went too.
I did however take the shields early on, for surviving getting into Mire range and respecced them out at 22 (but I always respec every character at 22).
But that's basically the jist of it. The 40s are "fun powers which won't eat too many slots" because slots are precious on a Kheld. Frankenslotting can go a long way to getting the most from them. -
Om nom nom builds...
No one ever seems to post them in threads I start. Did I offend the Mids Gods or something? =S
Thanks Dechs, good reading. -
Quote:See, I think you think (no I'm not psychicWhat I'm saying is, OK, suppose you respec your level 50 into a completely different character. Then what? You have a different 50, but what are you going to do with it? Engage in end-game only over and over again?
I wouldn't do that, because I personally want to go through my characters' careers from beginning to end. I considered just respeccing an old character into a new set, but then I realised I'd rather actually play the set, not just have 50 of it sitting in my characters' list.
I would never support this idea, personally. Even if it were instituted into the game, I'd still sooner reroll than respec. Shuffling powers and slots, that I can accept, as powers only alter the character while powersets define it. But basically character swapping to something else I didn't play up to that level... Put it this way - I HATE playing level-boosted characters on Test.
) that I mean a full character respec.
I'm talking about what the OP mentioned (IIRC) which is changing one set. Not changing AT.
So, in my case, instead of having to roll from 1-50 all over again, I could simply change my Secondary from Energy Melee to Electric Melee. Because when I rolled the character, Energy Melee was a set that I worked well with. After the last set of changes, it no longer feels like the original characte I rolled which, understandably I would assume, riles me somewhat. It feels like someone did a quick switch and, while I'm still the same person I now have someone elses right leg. -
Option: Fixed spawn level, Y/N
When N, it reverts to the variable we have at present.
/Signed. Fine tuneable options is a good thing. -
Ah'm awl fiyah'd up on mountin' dew!
Heh. It made me chuckle. -
Quote:Forcing ANYTHING is a really, terribly bad idea. So no, I don't see it happening. So the devs would never add another story line? With something that forces the PBs and WS' to change or something allowing them to gain more powers. I don't see how adding another story line and powers from it would be a bad thing.
Also, the EATs can already do all the normal content too, as well as their unique story lines as it is.
As is, I see nothing wrong with the EATs, bar maybe the Kheldian shape-shifting taking too long to animate.
