Isn't there one in the Magisterium? I seem to recall getting the Day Jobs Location message when entering the plaza a couple of times (different characters) although I can't recall exactly where.
-
Most likely, it was entering the Magisterium near Praetor White.
It flashed across the screen, but I wasn't paying close attention, so it may have been on another part of the Magisterium. Couldn't tell you the name of the day job, either. -
Add me to the list of folks without stereoscopic vision. I'm glad to see I'm not alone (though my sympathies to those who share my "view").
I absolutely hate the hype surrounding 3-D these days - those fancy-schmancy glasses don't do anything to enhance my movie (or gaming) experience at all.
Pass the "boo-boo-profen" down this way, please. -
Not to be too snarky - but we can't even get Paragon Studios to come to Indianapolis for GenCon or Atlanta for DragonCon. It seems highly unlikely they would pay to send folks to Europe.

We have had several very long involved discussions about that very topic. I'm not telling you that you should have searched first, but I bring it up because I can't remember all the legal niceties. My general memory of the topic is something to the effect of:
"If you are concerned about losing a trademark or copyright by creating the character, then don't do it."
Intellectual property law (which governs the issue) is pretty complex and I have seen strong arguments about both sides of the issue (whether or not your friend's use of his characters transfers some element of ownership of the trademark/copyright to NCSoft).
If your friend has published to a wide distribution, it's somewhat likely that another player will petition the name and the character will get generic'd - GMs do not have discretion to investigate further than checking to see if there is a known trademark/copyright. -

My employers are sending me to a week-long class in Boston from 8/16 - 8/20.
But I can take my personal laptop for entertainment in the evenings. -
Quote:Actually, I highly doubt that there would be flaming as you suggest. This is another preconception you brought over from those other games, LH.What would happen to servers such as Virtue, made up of mostly roleplayers? If the ydo a merger or get rid of other servers you're going to be having people joining the unofficial roleplayer servers, Virtue and Union, and essentially trolling and flaming those that choose to rp there. It'll be just like the RP servers on some other games I have played where 40% are actual rpers and the rest are normal players who deem it their responsibility to chase off as many rpers as possible.
Although Virtue (and Union?) have a large population of RPers and is/are regarded as the "unofficial" RP servers, there are RP{ers on every server - and none are getting flamed - or at least I haven't seen threads complaining about it.
But as for OP - yeah, please look around a bit before starting an inflammatory topics such as this one, brought up "dozens of times" as you put in your OP.
Merge or eliminate servers? No thank you, I have characters on all of them - except Freedom - by choice. Dechs already brought out the copy-pasta - I still agree with it 100%. -
Sorry about that Dechs. I put the apostrophe on the wrong side of the "s" from force of habit - I meant Dechs'.

Quote:Umm, LH - didn't you notice that MB's answers were not exactly the same as Dech's?I already know how to build. Also, to Memphis, why did you answer the questions when they were already answered?
Almost any question asked on these forums gets multiple answers from multiple posters. Your question to MB seems to imply that this is a "bad thing". Each poster will bring a slightly different perspective and frequently more information, possibly even more accurate info, although in this case Dech provided good basic answers.
Now, back on topic - when you are in-game, join the global channel "BaseBuildersInc." (the period at the end is important). Any questions about base building asked there will probably get fast answers and occasionally offers to come to your base and assist. Generally, you can also get tours of other bases for ideas and solutions to your current challenge.
Plus, generally speaking, the Base Construction forum is the best place for questions about anything to do with bases and as an extention, often the best place for answers about Supergroups. -
Quote:Write it up in your character bio.if you all read - i was just showing off what some player would think are great idea's

Some tough ones here, but here goes!
1. Space: Above & Beyond
The hardest pick, IMHO. I was playing Vampire: Masquerade at the time, so I had high hopes for Kindred, which it only somewhat fulfilled. While S:A&B was military fiction, not my usual cup of tea, but it had very nice effects for TV and it didn't sugarcoat anything.
2. Crusade
I loved B5, I would have loved this (I hope) if they had been allowed to flesh it out more.
3. The Prisoner
Don't care much here, but it has the cult following.
4. Man from Atlantis
The cheesy vote, but Patrick Duffy went shirtless most of the time.
5. The Dresden Files
Even though the TV series had little in common with the book series. My PnP gaming group just started playing the RPG based on the book series, looks fun so far.
6. Threshhold
I flipped a coin.
7. Brisco County
Every time and forever - Bruce is da man!
8. Harsh Realm
Didn't care much either way, but I'm not a big Eliza Dushku fan. -
The Closed Beta (which BTW, you are NOT supposed to talk about or even acknowledge you are in it) expanded by a bunch of players on Tuesday (see the Announcement above) - so I would imagine that there are lots of players over in the CB to see the new shiny stuffs.
Plus it's the usual slump that seems to happen before a new issue release.
Now, before anyone jumps on my head - yes, subs are down over what they were a couple of years ago, we have had a gradual decline throughout the history of the game, waddaya gonna do?
But we are still getting new players and returning players, so we seem to be fine for now.
Welcome back - I do recognize the name, but never played in game with you. -
If we still want to run it, I have Agoniste, a level 39 fire/rad controller who can start it for one team.
Or if not, I'm sure we can find something else to do. -
So I've been hanging around on these forums for a few years now...
When did we have the massive outpouring and demand for "clowns"? I remember seeing a request for Carnie-themed costumes and such, and one or two suggestions of a clown powerset for MMs, but not much else. -
But since this thread is here - customizing the power pools is on the list of things to do - but it isn't very close to the top of the list.
Check for posts from Back Alley Brawler on the topic of customizing pool powers, either here or in the Dev Digest. They aren't all that recent, since we got the ability to customize Pri/Sec powers some time ago (sheesh, time flies), but that's the definitive answer since he is the animations guy.
I could do the searching and link to this thread, but it's late and I'm heading for bed. -
Quote:I cringe every time I see yet another Suggestion that has a title suggesting that there needs to be "an app for that" for this or that piece of the game.Because it takes time, resources, and effort to create such an application. This takes away time, resources, and effort from other development paths. Then include how many players have a Droid or iPhone as opposed to regular cell-phones or no cell-phone at all.
Investment is greater than the Outcome.
-Rachel-
Why do purchasers of that annoying "toy" always assume that it needs to everything under the sun, including load the dishwasher and walk the dog, as if those of us who don't have the blessings of smart-phonery will be happy to see resources go down the drain to support their habit.
</soapbox>
OK, seriously, Rachel has it right. Spend dev time and other resources on something the majority can potentially use, instead of just the few who have dropped big bucks into a phone. -
Erm, well - I just hit the level named "I Can Haz Farm". I had LOTS of time while I was unemployed, now I just hit the farm a few times a week.
I "off" people in Mafia Wars, too, if that helps.
I can still be on the Saturday TFs, I hope? -
I rarely /hide, even though I am at least as introverted as others here.
If I'm feeling really, really introverted to the point that I don't want to deal with people, I don't log in - I read a book (with a cat curled up beside me) or I just do some FaceBook games (I'm on FB to see what my circle of acquantainces is up to from reaidng their posts, not to post much myself).
Then, I also play on low-pop servers (of 60+ characters, exactly 2 are on Virtue, low level, and zero are on Freedom, which was too exhausting) so the occasional /tell invite is not a problem, and I can get a team when I wnat one by using the globals.
I concur with Eiko about wishing it was more understood that true introverts find dealing with extroverts an effort most of the time. The funny thing is, I've seen a study or two that show that introversion isn't that much in the minority compared with extroversion - we just don't talk about it -
Forensics - what is your native language?
If you are having difficulty understanding anything we have posted here, you may want to try the French or German forums further down the page if you are more comfortable in either of those langauges.
Or if we have already helped you get what you need, I'm happy to hear it - welcome to the game!
