Mission Architect Open API
1. You can't search for MA arcs outside of the game for the same reason you can't access your friends list, your character selection, the market, or global chat outside the game. It's sort of like how you need to be logged into the game to email items to a friend.
2. A while ago the dev team unveiled the City Vault, which was basically a website which would show details about your character - powersets, badges, IOs, whatever. That got more or less shelved due to resource problems (and lack of development time as focus shifted elsewhere, I'd assume), so I'm not sure if it'll ever see the light of day.

"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."

Nuff said.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Because it takes time, resources, and effort to create such an application. This takes away time, resources, and effort from other development paths. Then include how many players have a Droid or iPhone as opposed to regular cell-phones or no cell-phone at all.
Why can't I search for missions from my iphone or droid? Why can't I find a good one and easily share to a friend's phone? There is no available API to the mission architect search system, except for in-game.
Now if I could only share my characters photo through the same app... throw in some hero stats for bragging...now we're talking |
Investment is greater than the Outcome.

I cringe every time I see yet another Suggestion that has a title suggesting that there needs to be "an app for that" for this or that piece of the game.

Why do purchasers of that annoying "toy" always assume that it needs to everything under the sun, including load the dishwasher and walk the dog, as if those of us who don't have the blessings of smart-phonery will be happy to see resources go down the drain to support their habit.
</soapbox>
OK, seriously, Rachel has it right. Spend dev time and other resources on something the majority can potentially use, instead of just the few who have dropped big bucks into a phone.

A lot more people have Android phones and iPhones than play CoH, that is for damn sure.

Your post is nothing more than newer version of an old fart telling them darn kids to get off his lawn. Do you realize how out of touch and ignorant you sound?
I actually don't care for this idea, mainly because I just don't think it is that useful. But your reasoning for being against it just makes you sound old and out of touch.
