This game unquestionably has the best community of any onliner, and more specifically it isn't even fair to it's two closest mmo competitors to bring up a comparison.
List the other games where players maintain subscriptions solely to keep their forums access active.. -
I would tell you but then I'd have to dispatch of you.

Quote:This is all lies. After a torrid 12 days locked in a Parisian hotel room and smelling of dark roast coffee and desire, Dinah left me for another man... three other men, actually. I should have known one just wasn't enough for that love tornado. My mother had warned me about her temptress eyes and hypnotic-hip-mambo, but I was in a trance brought on by maple syrup smelling perfume and lipstick redder than a dog-sledder's nose.
I was crushed. It was then I decided she needed to be kicked from our then SG - a themed group open to people who love Canadians, The Leaf Blowers - where she was the star attraction. She went on to form some SG called the Greek Columns of Superhuman Strength or something... while I drifted from blind invite to blind invite... played on teams filled with Scooter-drones taunting huge swarms of mobs into blaster cross-fire AoE chokepoints... those were the dark days for me.
But I'll never forget Paris, or what she said as she left the room. "Thanks for the dings, baby, but I'm gonna re-roll." -
1 Fire/Mace Tank AceMACE.
2 Champions first successful hami raid, feb 12th 2005 -day after my bday- After months of unsuccessful attempts organized by the largest sg of the day, and with all the other servers beating us to the hami victory, we finally prevailed over it, with well over 450 players wanting to join in. Though we were last, Maruts strategy became the template for raids on every server.
3 Sorry Cat, I don't think I've had the occasion to team. Someday. -
I'll throw mine out:
I retired from my first sg after I planned on getting married. So I left access to the sg site I created and paid for, to remaining active leaders, and one of them decided to remove me and my wife's name and any mention we had existed along with access, though I was continuing to pay for the site, lol. I used my wife's access, booted them, miffed a bit on those forums, end of story. -
...What was it over..?
Phires thread made me recall my first sg and some of the hijinks that went on.
So... in your SG career, what happened to make you go bonkers, and what did you do (quit/kick people/leave a nasty motd..etc).
We're all well adjusted enough to have some fun with the topic, especially since with time comes perspective and likely what caused us to meltdown seems less important and possibly silly today.
So...
[According to Dr Phil sharing will refresh your soul (or some ****)...] -
Me and my wife are hobbiers for sure, we can go weeks without touching a game, largely due to work.
The first two years I played this game I was definitely an addict, running a large sg, logging on every day for over a year, and a lot of the time just socializing for hours with sg members/friends/anonymous passerby's (overtly social lol).
Like with Bert the Viking, Dinah, Ring and many more, r/l tends to require more and more of your attention as you slip past your 20's ( not claiming Dinah's any older then 26 though ;] ).
Whether it's healthy or not, well within those first two years I did unexpectedly meet my wife and that has been the most fulfilling addition to my life. On the other hand since we've been married our gaming time has been cut down tremendously, and neither of us would trade the time we've spent getting out of the house to go to the beach/movies/friends/family. -

First of all,
Now, this should become a Chuck Norris thread.

Quote:The title really says it all.
I have grown increasingly tired of the FUD that players who fear any change bring to the forums as well as the DOOM criers, who, after many years of success for this game, have apparently ALWAYS been dead wrong.
Yeah, I know I might as well be trying to stop a hurricane with tissue paper, but sometimes, I just get fed up with it.
Here we are, when the game has never had more ways to play, more things to do and more ways to them and all the Negative Nancy's can do is attempt to find fault with something.
It's sickening. It's one of the reasons that I am often embarrassed to call myself a gamer, lest I be thrown in with people that think it's a good idea to gather the pitchforks because a digit in the game got change from 2 to 1.5 and that the only appropriate response is to set themselves and everyone they can touch on fire.
Is every process in the game perfect? Of course not, because that is not possible, as the definition of perfect lies with each person differently for a fun pastime. Is it plenty fun enough to keep enough subscribers to be profitable? Apparently so, even when I recall posts determined to convince everyone the game would not be here for another month, pretty much from the beginning.
Now, constructive criticism is a needed form of feedback and there are plenty of posters who give great feedback.
But, this incessant need to degrade the work of the people pouring their hearts into this game is really unnecessary, immature and rude. I for one am simply sick of seeing it and post this to show current and future players that the Negative Nancy's are not only WRONG but are a small minority of the games population.
So, even thought there are those that will attack me, my post and possibly my heritage, I say to the Haters, you are WRONG. You have always been WRONG. The game is still here, still profitable, still moving in a positive direction.
If you don't like the game anymore, or never did, and yet you still play and or post your hate on the forums, the jokes on you. If you don't realize that, it just makes it all the more amusing.
Did someone miss their nap.

There was a time when Invul/EM - Ice/EM Tanks were pvp gods. EM was neutered slightly with longer recharges a couple years ago. Was that helpful, care to subscribe to my bi monthly newsletter..
