Quote:Night Ward gave us wizards, British cops who apparently play Grim Reaper, and Warhammer-esque black knights complete with giant shoulders, knee pads, and swords larger than the wielder. That's what I was referring to. We already have so many great villains to choose from that have been forgotten about. Let's put the focus back on them instead of having Recluse or Requiem make cameo appearances.I'm with you no the more superhero content. But Dungeons and Dragons style Knights and Wizards haven't made much of an appearance yet IMO - I'd love a sincere Camelot/Western Fantasy zone with real D&D Knights, Wizards, Archers, etc., sometime around I29, instead of Dark Horrors Astoria, Rome, or others.
But before then? Moon Base/Space Zone, Underwater Zone, and maybe a full 2099 Bright Future zone. There's a lot of places left to go.
And tbh I don't think we need all those zones. More maps that take us to those places, yeah, but this game's starting to get too congested with zones that get intro'd, then either completely forgotten about next issue or the new zone causes another zone to be obsolete and forgotten about. Like if a moon zone was a new incarnate zone, it'd either be ignored 'cause we have Dark Astoria, or Dark Astoria would be empty yet again as everyone migrated.
Let's fill up and utilize the zones we have more, and focus on making more kick ***, memorable mission maps. -
Quote:He was knocked unconscious in said lake. Kind of why he wasn't moving and his eyes were closed. He would've drowned in there, but I'm pretty sure his body went into a fight or flight mode and he used anything he had to save himself. That just happened to be his waterbending. You gotta understand when someone's about to die they don't sit there and plan out what they can or can't do. Doesn't work that way in real life, shouldn't work that way in fiction. Is it just me or did Amon seem to go stupid at the end there? This guy genius bender of both water and blood tricked over half a citys worth of people into joining him and actually took said city over only to so obviously water bend right in front of everyone at the end all because we was thrown in a little lake?
More like they dedicated their entire childhood to overcoming a weakness and training specifically in bloodbending. Bloodbending was invented by weak prisoner who only had practice on rats. The only other person that could do it did it twice and hated it, outlawing it. I'm pretty sure if non-blind earthbenders could learn metal bending, regular waterbenders could train to not need to rely on the moon to bloodbend. -
The focus of the game has gotten worse. When are supervillains like Lord Recluse, Nemesis, Requiem, Malta group, Countess Crey, etc. gonna be relevant again? Introducing legit angels (Taskmaster Gabriel, Astral Christy, etc.), having us fight one man's lieutenants for two years, and focusing all our stories on the dullest areas of a dimension that's not even our own is beyond stale and so far off the original mark this game hit on so well it's sad.
Give us an issue where Nemesis nearly succeeds in one of his grandiose, well thought out, infamous plots. Have Requiem make his return with a big bang as he takes over Atlas Park with his massive army of loyal soldiers and super machines. Give us a mystery involving possibly Crey and Malta teaming up as Malta rounds up metas and hands them over to Crey to be disposed of. Please make these things the focus of an issue. Not more of these gods, Praetorians, dungeons and dragon-esque knights and wizards. -
Won't be a powerset. Zwill told us to expect a heads up a week before a powerset's expected to come out.

Well it's a good thing we've been getting both.

It's a powerful roulette self buff usable on any character.
No buff needed. -
Quote:Illusion of choice, man. They were all the equivalent of paper missions and offered nothing to the game. No real story, no real choice, just "Go to X, defeat Y." The game really is better off without those missions. And I thought a lot of the complaints about old Mercy, at least, were about fighting nothing but Snakes. That's literally all you'd fight, were Snakes.Maybe that's the reason for it, but Samuel's point still stands. "Freedom" took a pool of 49 low-level missions (including 17 small arcs) available via a choice of 10 paths (based on your selection of origin and starting zone) and replaced it with a set of about 20 missions, with only 1 choice along the way. The very thing everyone complains about re: redside.

Quote:Nothing to be unsure about. Only way they could have been more clear about his death is if they showed his burning corpse on that boat.Aman is a great villian, I hope he returns next season. (Signed on for 14 episodes) but seeing how this episode ended I am unsure
He's dead. -
Didn't play the 5th Column arc. Couldn't get over how god awful Leon's costume was.
Seriously, whoever they let design NPC costumes needs to stop. -
Quote:That's not even a question. He is dead. Considering the poetic ending of two brothers with no place in the world, and their existence would only breed more trouble down the line wherever they go, they realize this and take their own lives to "end this sad story", as Tarrlok put it.As for Amon, did he die? His skills and reflexes might just kick in. His demise was only implied.
Not to mention they couldn't have been more clear about their deaths unless they actually showed the pair burning alive on that boat up close and personal. Which would have taken away from the impact of the scene. If Amon somehow survived, it would completely ruin that scene, their backstory, and everything season 1 worked towards.
He's dead. -
It stopped being "a kid's show" after the first season of The Last Airbender, and it's a little unfair to call it that. This ain't Spongebob.
Also, holy ****, what happened to Amon caught me completely by surprise.
If this were a kid's show, that wouldn't have happened. -
Quote:'cept the devs made it clear a long time ago when AE was new that it was cool to use [walk] in there, since Studio B made for a good RP room.So let me get this straight.... a power, Walk, does not currently work in an area where powers are suppressed.
This does not sound like a bug to me, sounds like "what's on the tin".
If this power could previously be used in a power suppression area, then a bug has been fixed. Huzzah!
Thank you, Devs for correcting this bug. It's not a game-breaker, but any bug that is fixed makes CoX a better game.
Also, you got a little something on your nose, there. Might wanna wipe it off. -
Have I actually played this character in the past month? If not, delete.
I'm not a fan of hoarding names from other players that might use them. And I prefer to keep my characters I actively play to a minimum so that I'm more attached to, and have fleshed out far more, the guys that I do have. -
I'd file a report. They'll look into it, see if the story checks out, and go from there. I'm sure you could get a refund of points, considering they're broken and all.

Too many people complained about getting free stuff, so Zwill told us not to worry, and that nothing would ever be free in this game again.

Why did you guys feel the need to change the names of certain powers, like Cloaking Device, when there was nothing wrong with the name in the first place?

Quote:We really don't need paths delving into sci-fi and magic and all that. A natural themed hero can easily get themselves into a plot involving wizards without being a wizard themselves.this
and I wish they extended this. My greatest wish in CoH is that they establish content paths through zones: 4 color (Atlas, Steel, Talos, etc), Gritty (Kings Row, Skyway, Brickstown), Sci-Fi (shadow shard zones), Magic, etc
But I totally agree about one part of Paragon being dark and gritty, and the other a thriving metropolis. Caters to Batman and Superman types. I wish they'd tweak the level ranges a bit and bust out new storylines to support this instead of adding more, non-Primal Earth zones that have nothing to do with anything.
Kings Row > Skyway City > Independence Port > Boomtown
Atlas Park > Steel Canyon > Talos Island > Founder's Falls
Continue making hazard zones independent, self contained storylines and have Peregrine Island be a revamped combo of both gritty and bright as the 40-50 zone and you'd be set. -
Quote:Over reaction ftwThat was awful so awful I turned it off after 10 minutes. Seriously robots having babys cause there is not enough robots being made in factory's!?!? stupid as **** and it didn't help that the vending machine was your typical strong black women. Ughh what happened to you Futurama.

Quote:Guru passed his status to another old Namekian guy, who becomes the new elder. So the Nemekians killed their own eldest when it was all said and done? What a twist!
But if I recall the actual DBZ plot, didn't Guru pass his 'status' to Dendei (sp?) before he died, leaving him with the secrets of the dragonballs? Or was it Kami that he got some sort of power from? -
Quote:Obviously this buff doesn't apply to Elec Blast, then, as it doesn't need it.Short Range Attacks:
- Short range attacks, i.e. 40ft attacks like Blaze, etc, are having their range extended to 80ft, the same as other attacks in the set.
- This change also effects Corruptor, Defender and Dominator sets (And I assume PPPs, if they have any such attacks)
How about Electrical blast? It doesn't have a short-range power. I suppose you could gain the ability to summon a Voltaic Sentinel at 80 feet instead of 40, but that doesn't seem to gain much.
