I would still rather play Fire Blast on a corr, or blaster. Sure, it will pump out the most damage for a defender, but it still lacks scourge that corrs get, or the higher numbers of a blaster. I only recently started playing a /thermal, and I like the idea of it coming to defenders.

Nice to see Wolverine forcing himself into yet another team. Even a DC one.

And here's a guide to Incarnate that covers enough info to get you going.

I'll just toss out the idea that this was done with a PuG, and not with a number of friends. Friends who know you would have been able to deal with the situation far better if for no other reason they would have slowed down and taken it at a pace that you could have handled for as much as the trial would allow.
Saying that, I went through my own period of time where I had anxiety attacks when playing Kin, which is almost comical considering at one point me rolling a Kin was like me breathing. That was just me playing it without the shouts of "SB meh" adding to the pressure. I don't think I touched the set for over a year if not two. -
I'm stating the obvious, but the reason FA pumps out so much AoE is that it basically has two damage auras and a second BU. Damage auras should be the best source of AoE damage. Add that to any melee set that also pumps out AoE damage and it's tough to compete against. FA is without a doubt the squishiest armor set using SOs. It's little more than a blaster with ok mezz protection, a heal, and more HP. And then you factor in IOs and Incarnate....

Tanks will out damage scrappers only when talking about AoE based tanks versus ST based scrappers.

They don't seem to have horrible synergy because they do. I would Hover blast as a way to minimize the KB by making it KD. If you got it in the 40s, then I see little reason not to finish it off unless you really dislike the build. To me there is nothing wrong with getting a build to 50 and then retiring it. You could just let it be your badge character, or the one who works the market, etc...

A happy medium between the two would be MA/shield. It has a clean look like MA/sr does, but boosts the damage compared to /sr while /sr will be a little bit more sturdy. /shield does get a rather strong taunt aura as where /sr has none, so that might be a factor, one way, or another.

I'm curious as to know why. FF has long timers on it's bubbles. Outside of the bubbles FF really isn't a busy set compared to others. I think busier sets like Kin, who has a fraction of duration on something like SB and thus reapplying it all the more, and Thermal get much more usage out of this since it frees up more time for them to do their other busy work.

I can't recall if 11% is normal for me, or not, but I still think it's a crock you can't unlock the slot after one successful run.

What's interesting is the OP's consistent posting looking for a framing build and even during casual play and not really doing it in the past week I have two farming builds at 37 and 39. My point is, I could likely have a level 50, if not two of them in the fraction of the time this person started to look for a farming build and by the time they actually settled on one.
Really, all of the info one needs has already been posted. One can make a farmer using just SOs/common IOs. There are two reasons to make a farmer. One, earn tickets asap. Two, to PL other people. Since there is a cap to the amount of tickets a map gives, it's really not that hard to find something that can reach that cap. If you want something to PL others, SS/fire brute. [/thread]
This says nothing of me causally hitting the market this past week, or so and making over a billion from purely the market, ie no drops, no tickets, etc... All I need to learn about the market was by looking at the market itself. I had a billion on a character before I even looked at market guides. -
Quote:Run hero tip missions.I realize I was gone for nearly a year, but when did this happen? Between 2004 and 2006 I, and my posse of heroes, kicked his sorry backside over 600 times. Literally. I find it hard to believe so consistent a criminal would change. What is the Prime world coming to?

With everybody and their mother using Facebook, I think that's thrown out the window. Not that everybody who sees it is going to make comments about it, but it will get talked about a lot more than say 10 years ago.

I would much rather play something else and my namesake is a level 50 Kin/elec. I haven't played the weapons sets much and not with Kin because I know the redraw issue would bug me. I prefer Fire, Ice, or Sonic.

Invul with a melee set that gives even more mitigation and has credible AoE gets my approval. I also like letting people play what they want to anyway, so if Invul/ice sounds good, go for it.

The only issue with taking FA on a scrapper is that it's far better on a brute. /Dark does will with MA due to the stacking stuns. You won't pump out as much AoE, but you do get a damage aura.

Quote:DA will be end heavy, but can be dealt with via IOs, ie +end proc from Theft of Essence. SD will be as well. SS has end crashes so if paired with something like Dark, or SD the end issues might be a big enough to make it not fun for the user. Mind you, I have a SD/ss tank, but I'm willing to deal with the down sides and invest in it to make it work. Kat/da at one point was top for survivability and even if it isn't now, it's real close. Kat/wp is Scrappers for Dummies and might be the smoothest ride to 50. I like the idea of SS/elec on paper due to /elec being ideal to deal with SS. I only just created mine so I can't have a formal opinion on it yet. I do loath brutes getting Energize at 28 though. DA to me has the best utility belt where as WP really doesn't have much of anything. It's like vanilla ice cream. It's boring, but it's still really good.Thnx guys for all the suggestions. So, I came up with some combos I'm interested in trying. What I'm looking for is a Scrapper/Brute with decent damage output and top survivability. Which do you think will fit my needs better?
DB/DA, SS/DA, SS/FA, Kat/DA, Kat/WP, SS/ElA, SS/SD, something else? -
Quote:And then an AV comes along and you go, "Wait, I used FE and Burn and you are still here? Uh, oh." FA is still the squishiest armor as it should be. It can be made sturdy, but you are going to have to invest in IOs to make it so. A FA build with SOs is just a blaster with ok mezz protection, a heal, and a lot more HP.It's certainly true that there are numerous things that can beat their way through a Fire/Fire Tanker's mitigation. There are a lot fewer, however, that can do it before they themselves are melted to nothing. The oft-repeated maxim that killing the enemy is the best debuff is fully realized in the Fire/Fire Tanker build.

Quote:The guides are old. /regen loses out in the IO department compared to other sets. Not that it's bad, but that somebody tends to get the "least benefit from IOs" and for scrappers that's /regen. /regen does start being good early. I would say it's amazing 1-35 and then it tappers off as other sets take over. 40-50 I felt like /regen was starting to really be lacking, or it was the fact that I just got tired of the feeling I was being beta tested for a voodoo doll.I played this a game a lonnnnng time ago, and I've recently gotten the urge to come back. I know I want to make a Martial Arts Scrapper, but I can't decide on a Secondary Power.
I looked through a bunch of guides, and they seem to imply that Regeneration is king with Martial Arts. Not that the other powers aren't viable, but they say Regen is consistently great, while the others take time to get good. The other two powers I was considering were Willpower and Super Reflexes. Could anyone tell me how they compare to Regeneration?
My highest WP is a level 29 brute and I really like the set there. I have a level 50 Kat/sr and I find I like /sr 1-35 better than most, but post that it's a lot more enjoyable as a set to play versus /regen. With /sr, you can jump in and use inspirs as needed. With /regen, I feel like I have to pop inspirs, and then jump in. Once you factor in IOs and can get decent if not soft capped def to S/L on a /regen then things because easier for the set since that's where the bulk of the damage will be incoming from.
