Not been able to attend since some one pointed out just what the Galaxy Girl statue is.
Atlas Statue is a tourist attraction, and that's a memorial for a dead hero.
There's plenty of memorial statues that serve as meeting places for people in real life. Why not in game?

But this is probably an issue for another thread.
  2. From Protean + Black Scorpion on the uStream chat:

The Freedom Phalanx will warn organizations beforehand, which will be played out through announcements on the website.

So we can wait, see how those go, and react as needed.
  3. So, we try and find out if there'll be an early warning from the Freedom Phalanx to PC and NPC groups. If so, perhaps Vanguard could organize the calling (they worked with the last war council after all) and if not, they could make the offer for a room for a discussion a couple of days after?

That has the issue of using an NPC group, but it'd fit and work with previous lore.

I'll try to get onto the uStream after dinner.

Also, I'm assuming the AE Studio B room is just a fudged location for somewhere in the Vanguard Base, as we don't have access to the meeting room from the RWZ story arcs?
  5. It's the weekly uStream tonight at 1830 BST. Someone could hop on and throw a question to the devs, see if we can get an answer on if the Freedom Phalanx would give a heads up in the days leading up to the attack?

(It makes sense that they'd contact some organizations, rather than leaving people blind and without time to prepare.)
  6. Good point. I've got an Ex-Syndicate who's only care is not being hauled back to the BAF or being gutted by some Syndicate who have followed him, an ex-Powers Division member and his IDF trained/brainwashed sister that he rescued who wants to keep her from the IDF at all costs but would like to return to Praetorian China, and two pro-Praetorian PPD officers who are on the fence.

    They'll be featuring in fiction.

No, because there'd still be the animations for powers and emotes to do. And I for one hate being stuck in an Arachnos costume when I could use the slot for something else.
  8. Apex and Tin Mage TF's Reward 10 Threads instead of 2 Threads (When it used to be 2 Shards)

Replace Shard drops from content with Thread Drops, with an increase to the rate of it dropping.

Mender Ramiel's arc rewards 5 Threads for completion instead of 1 Shard (Or 1/4 common component.)

Allow equivalent exchange (best option IMO), or 1-1 on 1 shard per thread of old currency (The thing I likely see happening if it ever was changed to this):
    - Equivalent Exchange : 1 Shard -> 5 Threads, Common Shard Component -> Common Thread Component, so forth.
    - 1:1 Shard to Thread : 1 Shard -> 1 Thread, Common Shard Component -> 4 Threads, so on.

Allow Conversion of Notice -> Rare Component or Threads for rare Component, Favour -> Very Rare or Component or Comparable Threads.

    Would like to see:

Non iTrial enemies rewarding reduced amounts of iXP (Doubt it'd happen at this stage of the endgame rollout though.)

Introduction of Incarnate Missions/Story Arcs for Solo to 8 player teams, rewarding bonus threads/components.

I'd have written something about an iXP only system, but I doubt that'd happen (even though the iXP couldn't be stockpiled, only funnelled into existing abilities, thus reducing the need for a currency gating system like we had for Shard content to Thread Content.)

    Vanguard Pack!

I'll be using the Vanguard Chest Detail piece and the boots on my tanker's level 40 costume, after I came up with a concept of what she might have wound up looking like if she had stayed in Praetoria and climbed the ranks:

A very Praetorian Guard look for Maxi Pound, the 4 foot tall Inv/SS gal. Imagine coming across her on the Sutter TF?
  10. I think we should have a Praetorian Surge Fiction thread, as we did with the Rikti attacks. This frees up the IC Story thread for people who don't want to read about it, and means there's an easy way to find the fiction at a later date.

Interesting point raised about Pro-Cole characters, too. That's something to think on and discuss OOC.
  11. Give me an extra page of characters in potentia (That'd be 4 pages of 12, or 48) and I'd buy 12 for Union. Why buy for a server when we're getting global server list merge soon?

I'll tell you, in D Major.

    Freedom leaves me feeling blue,
    Champion, same and Guardian too,
Infinity, I don't care about you,
    It's Union, I'm in love.

Justice I won't cut no slack,
    Liberty, Triumph, out of whack,
    Pinnacle holds no interest so
    It's Union, I'm in love.

    Protector, Nae!
    Victory, Virtue same I'll say
    US servers hold no sway

    I don't care for Defiant's knack
    Vigilance, Zukunft, can't speak that
Test server, that don't even count
    It's Union, I'm in love.

(For proper reasons, I RP on Union, and all my characters on there have lore, backstory, and currently none of them are up for retirement. The thought of transfering some to another server would not work, because if I suddenly felt like playing a character, I'd have to pony up the cash to transfer them back. Thus 48, or even better, 60 characters per server, would suit me fine.)

PS. Please don't sue me, The Cure. 'Friday I'm In Love' was just too awesome not to use.

    Familiarity breeds contempt.

What starts off as ignorable when fresh faced becomes a niggle, then a throb, then an ache, then a pain, then a tender sweltering mass of frustration and hatred.

However, I want to keep contact introduction pop-ups. You need to be notified when new contacts show up.
As an addendum, make the old missions that sent you to a contact into contact pop ups. So no more being sent to see Lt. Willcot, PVP Zone people, Seer Marinio, Freedom Corps, Stephanie Peebles and so on.

You get to the level, you get the contact notification windows, you pursue at your own leisure.
  15. In Sharkhead Isles, I've noticed that if I open my contacts window in certain places, the PC will start to slow down and lock up, before the graphics card cuts the display and the system has to be rebooted. On re-entering the game, I have to quickly shut the contacts window before the portraits begin to load in order to avoid the game crashing again.

If I look at the ground, it works fine, but a notable place where I have these issues is on the walkway with Leonard on.

    Death penalty

For more casual players it could eliminate an entire day's worth of work, and make you extremely paranoid of dying -- even if was due to an accident or mistake.
I used to pause at level ups so I'd have 0 exp to waste as I explored the game world. Because you couldn't level down, like you could with with a popular JRPG turned MMO.

To this day the level down sound infuriates me.
  17. Steelclaw, your system sounds awesome. I could never do it, but it's amazing, and I would love to hear more about it. Keep on rocking, and delivering awesome posts.

It's rather staggering how some people can add to their fun (and torment) through these things. And here was me grumbling about a stone tank sans teleport feeling a bit useless at times, but necessary for the concept.

EDIT: Actually... do you mind if I borrow some of that for THE COURSE OF SUPERHERO ROMANCE? (Especially the "we're eating at every Up-And-Away place, and Raymond having the spreadsheet for it" thing) That just works amazingly well with how I've got Steve written there.

I had no idea why I kept calling Synapse Barry instead of Steve. At least I wasn't calling him Dave, after Rodney. (Points for the reference.)

And sure, feel free to borrow it!
  19. ((Quickly threw this together, because... well, because!))

"I'm not happy, Ray." Synapse grumbled, his arms crossed. The speedster of the Freedom Phalanx was resting against the doorway between Positron's lab and his office. With his arms folded across his chest, cowl up and lips frowning, he looked a picture of displeasure.

"Isn't that slightly hurtful, Steve?" Positron replied, looking slightly stung by his friend's reply to his news. He'd invited him to the office to tell him before gossip and rumour got to him. Part of the scientist wasn't expecting this kind of response to the good news. Another part, the part that had roomed with Steve, and even shared an apartment with him, knew this was exactly how he'd react. A tiny part was relieved that nothing had been thrown at mach speed.

"I... okay, okay. I'm glad, really, I am. It's just.... geez, you've never had a girlfriend!" Steve threw his arms up in the air in exasperation.

"Thanks." The deadpan response came. "But you would be wrong there."

"But not for a while! And now this? This? This is going to change everything! What about game night? Or going to the Icon Fashion Show to talk to the models? What about our quest to eat at -every- Up-N-Away?"

Raymond sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. Steve was in full swing now, arms waving about as he paced at a speed that most would consider a sprint, explaining just exactly how everything would be different. "Steve-"

"-And what about when I need to crash here, and she's all 'I've got my girlfriends over, so no!'?" Synapse cut him off.

"Steve-" His voice raised in decibels.

"Or 'I'm sorry Steve, Ray can't come out to play, we're off shopping for frilly curtains and bright cushions!'"

"Steve-" The volume raised up another notch.

"And we were going to go Six Flags so we could ride the new Freedom Phalanx rollercoaster, but I don't think we're going to-"

"STEVE!" Raymond barked, stopping the speedster in his tracks.

    "...yeah?"

Heading over, Raymond put his hands on his friend's shoulders. That was enough to get Steve completely focused on him. Raymond wasn't one for much physical contact.

"I am not going to up and disappear on you. Yes, we might not be able to spend as much time together as we did. Yes, sometimes something will come up with Tammy that will keep me from hanging out with you. But we're used to that with work with the Phalanx. We'll make time to go and see that roller coaster. I've still got the sheet with all the Up-n-Away's we've visited, and we can still carry that on. There'll always be a room for you at mine, and game night will carry on."

He took a pause for breath, feeling slightly uncomfortable with how intently Steve was looking at him. "I will still be your friend, and right now? I think I'll need you more than ever."

Synapse was silent for a long moment, before clasping his arms around his friend's armoured back, gently tapping his fist against a shoulder. "Sorry, Ray... I just..."

"It's okay, Steve. So..." Raymond was trapped in the hug, and looked for a way out. Easy for a genius. "Lunch?"

Synapse stepped back and grinned. "Lunch sounds good. Oh, and Ray?"

    "Yes?"

Synapse tapped his fist against Positron's. "Congrats, man."

  21. One of my fears is being left behind in the dirt, as in, if I do not raid raid grind raid raid grind now, then soon everyone will have burned out on it or moved onto content that requires the things raided for now, and I'll be left in a creek with a high concentration of faecal matter in the water with neither paddle or canoe.

It's happened to me on WoW, and the current 'alternative' path is completely and utterly ridiculous.

And you can't even get a guaranteed 2 shards from the Apex/Tin Mage TFs any more, just 2 threads.

    2 Shards = Half a common component.

    2 Threads = A tenth of a common component.
  22. I've played on Union since the day Union opened. I'm not going nowhere. :>

  25. Another 'what the hell?' on the Kal/Sutter Reward differences.

Kal grants you something that boosts your stats until you hit 50. You can then turn that into an item that lets you get a rare Alpha slot without having to run the WTF.

Sutter gives nothing of the sort.
