Quote:However, while the box was closed you have things like the Banished Pantheon, Circle of Thorns and Corolax all still kicking around and doing thier things albeit on a lesser scale.
And since you brought up the Isles you've got the Fort Hades ghosts too! Not to mention the heroes who predate the box opening, like Lady Grey or that guy who can remember all his past lives down in Founders.
Oh, and Nemesis.

Quote:Yeah, but not all in one go.And yet Arachnos are still around after Sirens Call, Deathstroke is still around after Bloodhaven, Ultron is around after he killed an entire country, Lex Luthor is still around after he killed a massive number of US citizens.
Heck look at the real world and 9/11,Al-Qaeda are still around.
If the hammer of justice is really that strong, the Court would of been destroyed long ago, I mean how many people do you think a hundred year old vampire has killed just to feed?
And yes, real world groups are still around. That's also entirely missing the point; i.e. a number of countries have gone to war over real world events that are on a similar scale to the event on the forums. We, as players, do not have the ability to make such huge changes as would be required of the original death toll. I thought we'd settled that. -
Quote:Yes, for a number of reasons;I noted that the death of 1000 is too much for union roleplayers in general. Now I am uncertain if it is okay to roleplay a villain doing crime of similar level. I must ask: is it ok to roleplay a human trafficer in Union roleplay community?
At the moment human trafficing in real world Europe is a big problem. Not only because its ruthless nature, but also because the criminals organizing it get rich very fast, and that way are able to bribe politicians and reporters fairly easily. Bringing a real, topical problem into imaginary game world could be of bad taste. What do you think? Is it ok, or is it better drop the idea?
1) Everyday problem that is hard to combat due to secretive nature, shady individuals and stealth. The typical sort of thing Heroes try and fight against. Is it something that can happen everyday and most average people not even know it's going on? You bet!
2) Unless you try and smuggle, say, an entire country somewhere, it's believable, and should also have believable consequences. PPD attacks? Sure. Longbow? Very possible. The odd Hero? If it's sensitive to them, maybe.
The reason the 1000 dead school children was blown out of the water was because of the huge implications it would have simply had to have had in character. Namely, outright war, mobilisation of the US army (9/11 only had 1k worth more casualties, and children are always a sensetive topic) and the obliteration of an entire SG pretty much without question, because there would be no other way around it without utterly, utterly godmoding both the game world and Heroes characters.
Human trafficking? Horrible, sure, but also an 'everyday' crime.
Believe me, people didn't shout down the St Johns thing- ok, I didn't shout down the St Johns thing because 'oh god, think of the children!' but simply because it was impossible for people to not notice, and would have meant the unequivical destruction of the Court. I doubt all it's players would be happy to be told that 'Hey, due to this you have to kill off your toons, sorry.' -

Quote:If you're on the EU servers, that'd workAt last... we might again for the first time!!
Techno... You would get far much more usage of this code than I.
If you didn't begin a derailment in the costume thread... I'd give it to you!
(Haha, kidding... you've got one coming, once I get it)
And it's Tech, not Techno! XD -
Quote:Meh, point. But you knew who I was talking aboutUm, how can it start, when I have them on ignore Tech?
I'd put one more thing on to the rule list though.
Dev canon is final, and canon goes by the most recent update.
Anyway, I'd say Dev canon is final, yeah. Possibly within reason, such as the 'no supers before the opening of Pandoras box' part. Although even then, Cimerora show's that was false, so...
Blarg. Yeah, I try and stick within canon, it's safest. Although where the's gaping holes (Kheldians!) sometimes you have to improvise. -
My first Widow/Fortunata, who was level 28, I think? Deleted her, only to re-roll a Widow very shortly after. I was kicking myself so damn hard.
The Psi/Mental Blaster version of my Empath/Psi Defender, who was level 33. I still kick myself when I log into test, where she is frozen for ever at level 33

Yeah, I normally end up dying to Nems because they all run in and start bayoneting the team.
Which bright spark gave them an AOE bayonet attack?! Seriously!! Exploding bayonets, my a-

But yeah, I really wish they'd give the pet AI's an overhaul. My bots either behave themselves....or attempt to scrap a mob. The only reason they get away with it is due to ludicrously high def and res values, due to the PBots, FFGen and IOs. -
/Signed to the co-op. Especially when it currently prevents Rogues from teaming with Heroes and Vigilantes at the moment, a frustrating fact we ran into the other day.

Quote:Castable range? It doesnt show the game knows how high one is flying/hovering, it just shows the power has a given castable range.
I dont think FS is immediately barred from hover-use because of concept, because after all its in the same set as handclap, but its definitely a little sketchy. Handclap is the percussive force of your hands hitting each other. I cant see Footstomping air doing much, in the real world or superhero world.
Acid Mortar isn't a targetted locational. It spawns on your location. -
Quote:What Birdy said. If you two are going to start again, take it to PMs. Don't get a perfectly good thread locked, thanks. While I'm not sure of the need for this thread, tbh, shall we just stop the name-calling now so the OP can have his thread, get his info, and continue in peace?
OT. Really, anything I could add has already been said pretty well. It's a shared environment. Do as you would be done by, etc etc

Quote:This is obviously not factoring in the Arachnos hit teams, Bane Spider Strike units and Flyer carpet bombing runsyou know what might be a cool look for Aeon City in Cap Au and the luddite village?
This:

That said, I do like it, lovely bit of art there. Sticking in a village hidden the other side of the hills behind the Uni would be quite cool. -
Quote:Their NPCs, and 'End Bosses' for that matter. No ones playing them. And no, actually, no NPC has DB, guns and martial arts. Some may have a weapon set and another combat set; that's because it avoids re-draw. Maelstrom, for example, has DP/Martial Arts, but wouldn't be given DP/DB. That breaks the re-draw rule. Heck, Kadabara Kill (*RUDE WORDS*) has three sets; Gravity/Kin/Empath irrc. But none of them have re-draw.All of the signature character's based on characters the devs played offline before the game was made are Mary Sues.
Positron (the dev) created:
-Positron: a Defender with more HP than most Tankers.
-Maelstrom: a Blaster with Dual Pistols and Martial arts (despite what the web site says about Energy Melee).
Then we've got:
-Manticore: a Natural Defender with massive HP that can be set on fire, take a direct lightning strike, and be punched in the face by super strong power armor and shrug it off.
-Lord Recluse: a Master Mind with thousands of henchmen, energy melee, invulnerability, and VEAT attacks.
...just to name four.
Most of the signature characters have exclusive powers made only for them, don't have the disadvantages for the ATs they're supposed to be (tough Blasters, Tankers with massive damage) or they simply defy all power set restrictions and brandish dual swords, guns and martial arts at the same time if they feel like it.
The devs are the only ones who can realize their characters the way they want to, and they flaunt the rules of the universe to do it, so that makes them all Mary Sues in my book.
.
The reason players don't get free combinations...well, just look at the other Super Hero MMO. That has free combinations. And it seems about as far from balanced as it can without actively trying.
If Arch Villain/Hero level foes weren't b@stardisingly nasty pieces of work 1) Where would the achievement be in beating them? 2) People would complain they were too easy.
Also, the NPCs that the Devs borrow the names of (and yes, borrow. David Nakayama picked Noble Savage, for example, after the development was done.) don't actually obey the AT laws that apply to players. 'Defender' and 'Mastermind' are only the closest approximation. Recluse is actually more of a level 54 'Dark Lord' than a Mastermind. Heck, 'Archvillain' is probably a better AT description, because that means an NPC, which means more set freedom. -
Quote:Lies. Everyone knows that fire is great protection. The whole Thermal set.
I'm going to heal you... BY SETTING YOU ON FIRE! And then protect you from further damage. BY SETTING YOU ON FIRE! I can make you deal more damage. BY SETTING YOU ON FIRE! (Well, actually that might work...
)
Or, my Cold Domination friend can protect you by freezing you solid.
After all;

Quote:I still wouldn't say 'no one', because that's a lot of no one.Sorry, posting with lack of sleep FTW.
What I meant to say was the devs data mined and no one was actuallly USING the Tier 1 power.
But that a majority weren't using it is a much more viable arguement
-
Ghost Widow? No. Jackma- Statesman? Yes.
-
That's impressive, because I've never been able to choose an invisible second power choice in the secondary, where you only get one option...
-
I'd prefer the Epics to open at 38, maybe. Primary and Secondary are fine as they are though.
-
Quote:Yeah, because MMs don't have that either. As long as Controllers/Dominators NEVER get the ability to specifically move pets around to specific locations-
Sorry? Go To? The most broken pile of junk that doesn't even work, because they tend not to move to locations that are within a few feet and also don't ever stay where you tell them to?
/Growls in corner -
Pets keep up pretty well as it is. If they get outside their tether range, they re-spawn on you anyway, buffs and all.
Although I'd love for Group Fly to get re-vamped, maybe into a clicky AoE, so that I could use it on my bots again. Nothing is more awesome than a cloud of heavy metal coasting through the air with extreme prejudice

Just had a lightbulb come on when someone mentioned Nova.
The Energy Bubble costume change emote. The one where the character drops to the floor and theres a big flash?
Now change that to where the character punches the ground, hold in this kinda pose;

And then?

The coupla second pause at the ground-punch, so people notice and go 'Ohhh frick-!' then BOOM.
...Damn. I want that now XD
