    Fire/???

    You try to come up with a character look first in the character creator or a neat superheroic name and start picking powers or powersets after that. In CoH there hardly is a "best" powerset combo, so might as well think of a character that would be cool to play and then make it.

    Elec/Fire Blapper is great, if you have someone to watch your back. Usually, even that isn't enough, so make sure your regular teammate has both resurrection and vengeance
  3. Do the toon you like playing the most. Test both a bit, play until 20 or so, find what suits your playstyle best, and then play that to 50.
  4. As in all your previous threads, it comes down to:

    What do you want to do with your toon?

  7. Slowly leveling this one to 50 (at 43 atm I think), so time to start thinking of IOs and a build for the time when 50 comes. Focusing a bit on the Recharge and Accuracy, but all in all, quite generic IO build I think.

  8. Both are awesome, so it pretty much depends on what do you want to do with the character.

    To ellaborate:

    Storm gets better debuffs, Trick arrow gets better hard control. Both have great soft control, even if they are different.
  9. Don't have that much experience with Elec/ so focusing on the stuff I do know about.

    - Ice Patch could go with less slots in it, it recharges well straight out of the box.
    - Aid Self could use one more slot.
    - And when you get to level 50, respec so that you have 3-slotted build up, aim, tactics and vengeance. (add additional slots if you need to put specific ios in). Hurdle is usually more useful than Swift, but that depends a bit on your playstyle.
    - Shiver is so awesome that the more slots you can spare to that the better.
    - Chiliblain is actually quite nice, so if you eventually get slots freed, you could think about slotting that. (I've never had slots to spare to it, but ... _if_)
    - I'd probably take Freezing Touch and Elec Epic Hold to have a nice control chain going on, but that's again me thinking Blasters should be what Dominators are.

  15. No idea how these things work, but been toying with Mids'. If you have better builds than this for a Fire/Nrg (team-based) PvP build, they're appreciated. (I'm tired and can't bother to make anything better out of this build, but promised DSorrow I'd look into it)

    IOs??? O_o

    IOs in general give better bonuses than SOs at your level. IOs that affect multiple attributes are a bit better than IOs that affect just one (2x acc/dmg IO is better than 1x acc, 1xdmg IO), slotting multiple IOs from the same set give you small bonuses. You cannot have the same named IO (ie. Devastation: Acc/Dmg) in a power more than once (but you can have Decimation: Acc/Dmg and Devastation: Acc/Dmg or Devastation: Acc/Dmg and Devastation: Dmg/Rech in a power). There are also Uniques that can be only slotted once in your entire build. And procedures that add extra effect to your powers when you activate them. (% of lethal damage, % of build-up, etc.) Try to aim for IO combinations that give you best combination of acc/dmg/rech/end.
  17. Well, there was this one time at band camp when I dueled some poor bloke's Fire tanker on my Fire/Ice domi. This was with insps, I might add. Think it took me 5 minutes to burn through all his BFs and other mez resists and after that it was sort of sad.

    Domis are great fun on the arena vs. things that don't have too much +defense or nasty debuffs to back them up, shame that they're not that great in team situations.

  24. Aim for max recharge, damage, tohit debuff and range.

    If you were a lv 50 I'd recommend three range/damage and three defdebuff/tohitdebuff/recharge HOs, but at lv 34ish I'd say something along the lines of:
