I agree with this. I'd actually like to see the AE building there vanish anyway, who builds a recreation center in the middle of a war zone? Pocket D makes a lot more sense as the location for a co-op AE building anyway.
EDIT: Wow, triple simultaneous posting. -
Well part of it's going to be that although bosses can drop C/D recipes most of the ones generated that way will be level 50s. However I suspect that it's also being caused by people who roll merits opting to roll in the 46-50 range. People who frequent the market forum will mostly be aware that the 35-39 range is a better bet due to several popular recipes that cap out at 35 or 40 (Kinetic Combat, Touch of Death and Miracle being the primary examples). However if you don't really follow the market you might not realize this and therefore choose to roll 46-50 believing that's where the good stuff is.

That would be an extremely bad idea for a number of reasons. First a lot of people store excess Inf by bidding on items that don't actually exist (i.e. level 53 IOs) so the devs would need to introduce items that have not previously existed to fulfill these bids. Secondly there are people who place very low bids on high ticket items just in case (or because they stopped playing the character and then the price of the item increased) so we'd get a large spike in the supply high ticket items (especially PvP IOs).

I assume that you're being pedantic, however you're not actually correct about the Kismet. While you are correct that the LoTG 7.5% is a global and not a proc the kismet +6% to hit is in fact a proc. And yes it's technically called Kismet: Accuracy in game, but referring to it as a +6% to hit is more accurate and descriptive of it's purpose than it's official name.

I tend to just end up purchasing them with candy canes instead.

This I like. If this was implemented I think there would need to be some limit on how many summons you can have for temp powers at any one time. Currently there are 5 temporary powers that summon pets and are obtainable an unlimited number of times (plus Amy's Ward which can only be obtained once). However two of them are of limited utility in a big fight (Clockwork and Warwolf) and one requires a significant effort to obtain (Longbow Mech) which precludes it being used frequently. That means that in general you're unlikely to summon more than two temporary power pets at once (maybe three if you're really in trouble). If a lot of extra temp power pets are added allowing you to stock up (and especially if they are on a power level with the Shivans and HVAS) I think a limit on the number that you can have at once would be needed.

My problem with this is that it is a bit unfriendly to new players. When you're just starting out you don't necessarily realize what a GM is and can easily get killed by one (when I was new I attempted to solo Eochai during the Haloween event with a level mid-teens blaster). Having that happen in the starting zone could well make a new player decide to quit.

Well there is pecedent for it, Issue 12 gave everyone two free slots, although admittedly that was mostly to advertise the purchasable slots . Personally it's not an issue, I'm nowhere near to using the basic slots available to me but I can see for people with altitus adding a free slot or two as a perk for purchasing the expansion would be nice.

My main (Adeon Hawkwood) currently has this as his backstory (the tossed to the time streams variant). However over time he's changed to the point that I'm no longer really happy with that as his backstory. I originally did it primarily to make bad time travel tense related jokes, sci-fi/fantasy references and to explain why his power armor looked like a cross between medieval armor and mega-man.
Over time I've changed his armor to a much more sleek modern look and given him a new suit (he's AR/Dev but now has a new suit which makes him a Traps/AR) both of which really contradict the "tossed to the time waves in a suit he can barely use" backstory. I've also taken to using Mercenary as his badge title and given his face more of a tough guy look (with implanted circuitry instead of tattoos). So it's time for a darker and edgier retcon (which may or may not involve time travel), but I haven't gotten around to writing it . -

Ah, that's good to know.

Mental or Energy are probably the best combinations with AR depending on how much mitigation you want versus extra damage.

Ok, this is my first attempt to seriously IO a scrapper (actually, it's my first scrapper period) and I'd like to get some opinions on my build. The general goal was to softcap all positions without having to resort to a Gladiator's Armor +3% (I could afford one but I don't really want to spend that much on one IO).
Some general comments/questions:
1. Mid's shows ranged defense at 43.4% because it doesn't include the 3.75% from Phalanx Defense
2. How bad is it not to include One With the Shield? I can see it's usage as a panic button but to get it I'd either need the Gladiators and drop Build Up or drop Grant Cover. I wouldn't mind losing Build Up if not for the cost (I know, I know Build Up is good, I just don't particularly care for Build Up type powers because I never remember to use them). Grant Cover I'm mostly keeping around for the resistances (and the fact that I like it thematically)
3. I've got two spare slots, what would you recommend doing with them?
4. I didn't include an APP largely because none of them appealed to me. At level 36 I'm not really feeling any endurance issues and as I start slotting IOs that should get better not worse. Similarly I don't really feel the need for ranged attacks, I use temp powers on the rare occasions when I need to pull something.
5 For both the Hetacomb and the Siricorro's Dervish I'm not particularly interested in the 6th set bonus. Would you recommend removing/replacing one of the IOs in those sets and which one? I'm thinking the Dam/Rech but I'm not sure.

I've never heard of that before, but I would imagine the wait will be 3 days. It's probably waiting for the credit card charge to go through (thereby varifying that you're a legitimate customer) before it allows you to purchase another one.
If you want a more precise answer you'll have to call customer service. -
Is the 52+ actually tradeable? My understanding was that once you combined enhancements to make a + or ++ enhancement it became untradeable.

Quote:I like that. I don't think accolades (especially ones with powers) should be tied to veteran rewards but I like the idea of an accolade for acquiring some of the more challenging badges. What about (Hero of the City + Master of Statesman's Task Force + Master of the 5th Column Task Force + Master of the Imperious Task Force) for Heroes, and (Made + Master of Lord Recluse's Strike Force + Master of the 5th Column Strike Force + Master of the Imperious Task Force) for Villains? That's level 50 and the three "Master of ... Task/Strike Force" badges currently available.
I can see your intent of an accolade power that represents the character being particularly inspirational/intimidating but I don't like the idea of it generating inspirations. Instead how about making it a PBAoE buff that applies a damage buff equivalent in power/duration to a red inspiration?
If you want to mix it up a bit you have the applied inspiration be based on the AT of the character but realistically Red and Purple inspirations are the most consistently useful. Greens and Blues wouldn't be particularly appropriate for the power since their instantly used. Oranges are ok, but just to weak compared to Purples (this is more of a problem with inspirtations than anything else). Break Frees and Wakies are of course very situational and rarely useful as a team buff. -
Thanks, I was wondering if I was missing something
-
Yes it will. The downside is that most of the uncommon and rare recipes that you get will be level 49 which tend to have a much lower sale price than level 50s

For Blasters the secondaries vary a lot in terms of mitigation versus damage.
In general terms Fire and Mental offer the most Damage while Ice and Devices offer the most mitigation (with the note that Devices is relatively slow solo and almost useless on a team). Energy and Electricity are middle of the road with good damage through melee attacks and several mezzes (mostly from those same attacks). -
I was just looking through the traps set and noticed that Poison Gas Trap can take Slow enhancements. However according to both Mids and RedTomax it doesn't have movement slow just a recharge slow that is unaffected by enhancements. Therefore it seems pointless to slot slow enhancements in PGT. Is this correct?

Quote:Indeed, she may have joined under an assumed name back when spiders were all male. When females were allowed to join she changed her *ahem* breastplate since it was more comfortable but didn't bother getting her name officially changed due to the whole mess of paperwork that would entail. It could be some subtle joke about how Widows and Spiders are no longer only one gender?
EDIT: Interestingly, according to the internet a male breastplate would actually fit a woman better than one with two large bulges. Of course, everyone knows that female superheros have very different anatomies from normal people. -
Well the storage sack is 500, maybe you were looking at that in your tiredness? As far as I know the HVAs has always been 250.

Quote:I hadn't checked but I can't say I'm surprised. I hope one day the devs will start being more consistent about whether they update pseudo pets or not when porting a powerset. Frankly I still doubt I'll take it on my Defender due to power choice limitations, I'm cutting my AR choices to the bone (Burst, Slug and the three cones) in order to fit in Leadership and Stealth (the first for gameplay reasons, the latter for RP reasons). Also, since my AR/Dev doesn't have Ignite it would make no sense (RP wise) for my Traps/AR to have itWell, you do realize that ignite on a defender does the same damage as the blaster version? Hard to beat a defender attack that does over 500 points of damage when slotted. I'd say it's worth it on a defender even with its long animation. My dark/AR defender loves it (I use pet gaze to keep them still in my case).
