i wounder if it is possiable to get at least one slot when going rouge comes out as i would like to play the new mission and see what it like from the start of it.

the reason i am asking is that i have limited funds and i guess alot of others do as well and i can't spend an exter £6 to get a new slot when GR will come out. i just hope there are other out there that think this is a ok thing to ask for instead of being flamed to death about.

Additional slot(s)?
One can hope.

According to this, you get 1 additional character slot every 12 months, so when the next one opens up, save it for a GR character.

Well there is pecedent for it, Issue 12 gave everyone two free slots, although admittedly that was mostly to advertise the purchasable slots . Personally it's not an issue, I'm nowhere near to using the basic slots available to me but I can see for people with altitus adding a free slot or two as a perk for purchasing the expansion would be nice.

I'm close to out of slots (almost to 36 char limit) and won't play on another server. My wife is completely out of slots and has already had to delete some characters.

We're hoping that, even if free slots aren't handed out, the server limit will be increased.

I assume that just as with CoV that we get extra slots, either one or two at all servers or a few slots you can place where you want them. I hope the server limit can be enhanced for this though.

If not a free slot I would like to have more than a maximum of 36 total character slots per server. I'd like to see that increased to 48.

I don't see why you come to this assumption. CoV was an expanshalone. GR is a normal expansion. (You can't use GR if you don't already have a CoHV account)

The closest things we've had to an expansion are Good vs. Evil edition and the Mac Special Edition; they didn't increase the number of character slots we had.

This would be nice. I'm not getting my hopes up tho, as FW pointed out the big difference between GR and CoV is that CoV was originally intended to be an expanshalone.

That might be, but. They know that we will want to create new characters. They know that we will be upset if we have to delete toons. It is a small investment from their part.

Plus

This is the same company that gives free tailor coupons most time they add a new costume to the game. So I have high hopes here.

No they don't...

And they haven't ignored us.

When the game started we only had 88 character slots. Then they increased the number of slots to 132. Finally they gave us the ability to buy 264 additional slots which brings the total number of slots we can have on an account to 396.

That's almost 5 times the number of character slots that were available when the game started. We have nothing to ***** about.

Which is why they gave us the ability to buy server transfers. It's not their fault if some people are cheapskates.

I don't disagree that it would be nice, however don't get your hopes up. Every issue I see a couple people get themselves worked up over some desire they want in the game which doesn't happen. Then it's *****, whine, and moan that the devs hate us. Please don't become one of those people.

I have three slots saved and two name holders already placed. Bring on GR!

Whether or not they'll grant an additional character slot with GR is anyone's guess. They might, but my feeling is they'll include something like a unique costume piece as they have in the past with pre-orders and the Mac edition.

It has nothing to do with money. I'd be willing to pay a very reasonable sum for the max number of slots per server to be increased even if only by a few slots (3+). I'd even pay a not-very-reasonable sum!

What I WON'T do is be forced to play on different servers. I want my characters in the SG I've worked so hard to build, to play with the friends I've made, on the server I enjoy.

I do NOT want to have to delete characters to do that.

Now I've still got six empty slots on Virtue, but my wife is all out. We don't want to lose any of her characters, and yes she does play all of them.

I'd also be willing to pay for the same thing.

I agree that no one should be forced to play on a server they don't want to play on. However I doubt many people play all 36 characters on their main server with the same frequency. I applaud the people that do manage it.

I have retired characters and moved them to other servers rather than delete them. Not all of them were 50's, I just realized I was playing them less and less. So I moved them to make room for fresh ideas. My retired characters can always be brought back when decide to play them again.

Another benefit is when the occasional server goes down, maybe there's an issue with the west coast servers, maybe my servers down due to overpopulation. Whatever, having some retired alts on other servers means I can still play without being forced to roll up a new level 1 character.

All I'd be thinking about is all the prestige I *could* be earning for my SG.

I'm really a base building geek, so unless I'm making Prestige for my base, I'm not really happy.

XP, who cares, I'll level eventually.
Inf, who cares, I have the market
But DO NOT mess with my Prestige!

Now... here's part of what I don't get. OK, you have a SG and base there, that much I understand.

But why can't you and your friends make a second SG on a server on the "other coast," specifically for network issues and whatnot?

- "I don't know anyone?" You'd be alting there with friends.
- "It's dead?" Aside from being BS, again - you'd be there with your group anyway, and probably meet new people. Teaming wouldn't be an issue.
- "X server has events..." Well, so do the other servers. And if you want a specific schedule, well, you're here on the forums. Announce them! Start them yourself!
- "My base is there." If you love base building, why would you turn down the option to try new and different ideas in a new base? (Heck, if prestige is an issue, I'll be happy to help mule some characters to get you to 15 slots, assuming *I* have slots there!)
- "Virtue is the RP server" - true, but most servers have RP groups - and, again, (a) you'd be there with your friends anyway, and (b) you're (again) on the forums - ask around for who RPs on your server (such as the Pinnacle RP Congress. More people, though, RP "casually" without the formal groups.)

I don't get the "I don't want to move" bit, honestly. Especially if you're doing so with a group - which gives you a 'safety net' to begin with.

Edit: Heck, if you don't mind paying, move some of the 50s over with excess INF and let them convert it - yes, even at the ridiculous conversion rate. It'd still give you a boost to get going with the new base.

I know this question wasn't directed at me, so forgive the intrusion.

For me, I do have a few characters on other servers, but my home server has been infinity on the two accounts I have. It's the server I've invested the most in, and of course, it's where I keep my piles of inf.

If you wanted further explanation, all you have to do is wait for a big event when freedom server gets locked out to realize that a lot of players stick to one server, no matter what rational reason might encourage them to move.

But that's the thing. Most of the arguments I hear about not wanting to move... well, if you go with some of your friends/SG and open a "branch office," they're really moot. No, it's not your 50 you've played for 10,000 hours - but it's somewhere to play if your main server is having issues.
