I have seen another post regarding the defender Traps/dark combination. I have been playing an alt of that design myself. I didn't take stamina, and I usually have extra blue pez anyways. On teams, leveraging the traps potential produces amazing results. My defender is level 20, and I am having a blast. Look for Mole Trap on Triumph.

My Traps/Dark is quite fun currently at 15 but iso far found my Traps/Sonic to be better with all that -res stacked with seekers -dmg itsd one of my safest toons. Gonna see what happens during leveling.

Once you start cranking out the AoE's you will find that Stamina can be useful. My Traps/Dark is in the mid 30's, and during really busy battles it is possible to start running out of endurance even with Stamina.

Doing the first respec trial was awesome. Between waves i just stayed at the core and covered it with mines, mortars and poison traps. Porters appear and go cartwheeling away to land in a crumpled heap. Other groups rushed forward into clouds of gas and mortar barrages. You'd think piling high explosives onto a reactor core you're defending would be a bad tactic, but apparently not.

My Traps/AR is level 21 and soooo much better than my AR/Dev at a similar level.

Out of curiosity what do people think of Web Grenade? I'm using it a lot at the moment (especially solo) but long term I'm thinking I'll probably drop it.

I'm really pleased with my Traps/Elec's performance on teams. No, the combo has no notable synergy and Elec Blast is Elec Blast, so soloing is laborious. He shines on teams though, with a very impressive combo of team buffs and aoe debuffs, just by pushing 3 or 4 buttons.

Still anxiously awaiting making a /Traps troller...

In many cases I'd suggest dropping it, but since you're AR I would definitely keep it. Webnade + ignite on a boss just has to be seen to be believed - it goes a *long* way towards shoring up AR's single target damage. It's one of the nice synergies of that pairing - it is true that otherwise webnade is not that spectacular of a power (in PvE anyway - I believe webnades are very useful in PvP, though I wouldn't know about that first-hand).

To be honest, I've never really liked ignite, it doesn't suit my play style in a large part due to the 4 second cast time and need to prep the enemy with an immobilize. With the new difficulty settings on my Blaster I just turn bosses off and have fun Full Auto'ing minions .

Web Nade is great for when facing a single tough foe (Boss/EB/AV). You can stack it up easily to keep them out of melee and the -RECH is HUGE (62.5%)!

Plus hey... in team settings, it helps the Conts get their Containment bonus.

I like my traps/sonic 100X more than I thought I would. Started it as a lawltarps toon, but really enjoy it now. Lvl 29 and counting.

Well, you do realize that ignite on a defender does the same damage as the blaster version? Hard to beat a defender attack that does over 500 points of damage when slotted. I'd say it's worth it on a defender even with its long animation. My dark/AR defender loves it (I use pet gaze to keep them still in my case).

I hadn't checked but I can't say I'm surprised. I hope one day the devs will start being more consistent about whether they update pseudo pets or not when porting a powerset. Frankly I still doubt I'll take it on my Defender due to power choice limitations, I'm cutting my AR choices to the bone (Burst, Slug and the three cones) in order to fit in Leadership and Stealth (the first for gameplay reasons, the latter for RP reasons). Also, since my AR/Dev doesn't have Ignite it would make no sense (RP wise) for my Traps/AR to have it
