Quote:Maybe this is a little too simple-ish for what some folks are asking for, but I'd be happy with combining the Monstrous gloves option (that adds talons to fingertips on a many of the glove styles) with the Claws animations, but change it to use open hands instead of closed fists. Sure the hands are still "mitten" like, I don't think you need full on free fingers to pull this off. Granted I have no idea how much work that would require though. >.>Actually, I think he was being serious.
Look at the model for yor character's hands. They don't have individual fingers, so any "beastial claws" you added to those hands would resemble a curved garden trowel more than claws.
There are a couple problems with it, lack of individual fingers is one... -
Expendables all the way. Can't stand Michael Cera.
Quote:Cera is an annoying twit, but Scott Pilgrim looks a little -too- hipster stylized for me, never mind the whole it's-a-chick-flick-in-action-movie clothing thing the trailers scream at the top of their lungs. Did I mention I don't like Cera?...
As for your Michael Cera concerns... He was great in Arrested Development. He has seemed similar in every role since, but he hasn't been given much flexibility. This movie will allow him to stretch his legs and show if he can do something out of his ordinary wheelhouse. The character Scott Pilgrim is an overactive, ADD-addled 23-year old (who, on his 24th birthday proclaims that he "will be the best 24-year old... Ever!"). Michael Cera is generally pretty much the opposite; hopefully he adapts and grows into the role. -
They've been doing this for years, where've you been? Batman's costume has been fiddled with from the almost the beginning, and it gets fiddled with again every time he's in a new show or movie.

Quote:This.I'd be content to see these as a weapon choice option on the tailoring screen for the existing set.
Been waiting for talon type finger claws for a while. I was hoping they'd be in the Mutant Booster too.
Just make them a Weapons Option once you give your the Claws powerset. I've never really paid that much attention to Claws, do the animations uses fists or open hands? -
Quote:As an EM Tank, you have more options with the Epic pools to make up for the dismal performance of Whirling Hands. What's up guys. I've recently built myself a EM/Invul Tanker, and I'm loving it. But now with Going Rogue coming out, I'm wondering if brutes are better. I want to play on Heroes side since I like the game better, but I've heard people say that there will be no use for Tankers once going Rogue comes out because Brutes are so much better. I have a few questions
A) Is this just a matter of opinion?
B) Are the maximum caps for Damage + Defense different?
C) Does it have to do with epic powers?
Quote:D) Any other suggestions or opinions?
I have an EM/Inv Tank "leveled" to 50 during the early days of AE, and I have no intention of going back to the character until EM gets overhauled. You didn't say what level you are, but Energy Melee is dreadful in the higher levels for Tanks and Brutes. Your two hardest hitting attacks have animation times of about 3 seconds each. It might not sound like much, but in a high level team, you'll get used to activating Total Focus or Energy Transfer, and having your target get killed by your teammates before you finish swinging.
Or your high level solo game is slowed down, waiting for those two attacks.
And then there's your only AoE in Whirling Hands, which is just sub-par all around. -
Hee. Cosplay wedding? I'd do it, just not with anyone in my family involved. >.>

To me, it's Pray-toria, but Preh-torian. *shrug*
My mind's been blown though, finally got around to the newest vid-doc. I've always thought of it as Hami-dun, not Hami-dawn.

Quote:I know. And I know it's 95% trolling, but still, maaaybe something will eventually get through the emoticons. The only problem with this is you're arguing with someone whose strongest arguments amount to the intelligence level of "I'm right because I'm right." She hasn't really been able to make a valid argument for anything in this discussion beyond that. I find it amusing that she's telling people that they don't understand what Star Wars is, when it's blindingly clear that she is the one who understands it least of all.
Just look at the two lines of dissenting opinions in this thread; You have JKedan, who can make a well thought, cohesive, and well stated argument for his opinion, and who can also admit that opinion might be colored by his dislike of the EU. Then you have GG, who basically stamps her feet, claiming to be right, while not being able to back it up with anything other than "because I said so," and just eggs people on because she can. Just let her believe she's right, and she'll wander away somewhere...
That does make perfect sense, and it's what I like to think the answer is, but isn't the official explanation rather far from that and needlessly complex? Something like the Dark Side is a corruption in the Force that isn't supposed to be there, and the Jedi thought that removing the corruption would return the Force to a pure and "balanced" state. And Luke fits into it somehow too. -
Eh. There's better stories in the EU than the movies. *shrug*

Quote:I've read the first two. I'll get to the third but I'm in no rush.Has anybody read the books Darth Bane is in? Ive read some of the other stuff but I actually really enjoyed those three books. Maybe its that its main character is not in the movies and the plot is far removed from the events in the films? I don't know but I do know I liked them.
They're okay, nothing outstanding though. When Bane makes any sort of Dark Sider speech after his initial training on Korriban, you can practically hear the author grinding his teeth about how contradictory some Sith and Dark Side "philosophy" is. -

I knew I bought some of a Crossgen title in trades, but for the life of me I couldn't think of which one it was just now. >.< So I checked wiki and it was Sojourn, the one with the archer woman who was fighting Azalin and his orcs. Heh, memorable, the title wasn't. I think I'll pass on this, especially if it's an imprint.
Quote:Seems the Crossgen characters were created under more straightforward contracts to cover who owned the characters. Malibu/Ultraverse gave more rights to the creators, which Marvel has little desire to deal with (as in getting the rights away from those creators to avoid royalties and the like) to get the characters back in publication. Not surprised, I am expecting Boom! to fall under Marvel Imprint at some point.
What is said is Marvel bought Malibu which had all these great characters (and some bad ones). Marvel closed Malibu and the characters are in limbo but CrossGen characters get a rebirth?
Disney I know spent a lot of money buying CrossGen, but bring back the Malibu characters too this is another set of heroes that would be great to see.
Imagine how Prime must feel now that Chelsea Clinton just got married! -
Yeah, it's amusing that the guy with the Kamen Rider character is talking about someone else with a Vegeta clone.
But the V-Geta guy's "Who gives a crap?" response is some good stuff.
And I do report blatant copyright infringement characters. I usually send a tell saying something like "You know doing a character like that is against the game rules, right?" But when it's an offensive name, I just petition it.
To this day I still see a good number of Darth characters of all levels. I thought that'd be an automatic no-no by now.
Quote:I've done that a couple times. I lost track of a female character in a pretty spot-on Hobbit costume who had a Baggins last name and a bio that was something like they took a wrong turn on the way to Albuquerque and wound in in CoH. But to my surprise Willow Rosenberg is still a hero on Virtue *shrug*...3) For fun, put the character on your friends list and start taking bets in a global channel as to how long it will take for the character to be Generic'ed. Right after "300" released in theaters there were zillions of Spartans suddenly running around. My favorite was "Testakles," but he was generic in under an hour. -
I still prefer Asgard as it was under JMS's run with the magic Norse warriors over the Kirby magical science stuff, but I'm impressed by the trailer.
>.>
<.<
Here's hoping though that they somehow manage to fit in the Warriors Three getting a diner to run. *crosses fingers* -
The VG name is something like Tokyo Screamplex. Anyone know if they're still around and if they still have the... how to describe it... darkly lit neon trim club base? If so, I'd like to get in touch with them to show a friend their base to, uh, "borrow" elements of the design.
Respond here or send me a tell @the new black. -
Huntsman Grimm. Full name Marcus Grimm, fwiw. Just a slight twist on "The Grim Huntsman."
Character is sort of a evil combination of Jethro Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo. -
Wow, are these public channels always this bad?
I'll stick to my private OOC channels and the occasional LFG broadcast. I get enough drama in VGs, don't need it in PuGs too. -
As I understand it, SR is a late bloomer, but how late are we talking here? I've never gotten a SR character past level 12, so I know little of how it works in the mid range levels.
I've done WP before, but I'm just looking for something new to do. -
Somewhat related, how painful would Mercs/FF be to level? If Storm works with Mercs to keep mobs in firing range, FF would too, right? I guess its down to FF's Def Buffs vs everything else Storm does.
I know how weak Mercs are, and this is more for concept than numbers, but I'd like to avoid making things too tedious on myself. -
Works for me. I didn't see that... viking indian movie, but Urban was pretty good in Chronicles of Riddick and Star Trek.

Quote:Touch of Fear and CoF, in theory, work well together and won't effect Fury as much as some claim.... Ideally what I'd like is a build that's able to plug the energy hole with defense and still has some room to get close to the smashing/lethal defense soft-cap.
I'm also still struggling a bit with power selection; specifically in regard to taunt, death shroud, touch of fear, and cloak of fear. I'm kind of interested in 'fear tanking', for lack of better terms, but it seems kind of counterproductive to bruting and is expensive with power picks...
I have a lvl 38 DM/DA that I dust off from time to time. With my last respec, I went for the "fear tank" build, which seems to be working okay with my haphazard slotting, but I'm still at a point where Endurance recovery is an issue with all the @#$%^&* toggles.
