  1. Here's the latest set dialogue between support and myself:

"Response (GM Beryl) 09/23/2009 08:57 AM
    Hello Sam,

We have recently become aware of an issue with this badge and are currently investigating the matter. I'm afraid to say that this means we will not be able to award the badge at present. Sincerest apologies for this, we will hopefully have a resolution very soon.

    Kind Regards,

    GM Beryl
    City of Heroes/Villains Customer Support

    Hello Beryl,
I am able to provide a screenshot showing that we were expecting the Master of Barracuda Strike Force [badge], and that we had deaths set to 0 and no temporary powers allowed set, both of which were adhered to. You will see the villain temporary powers in Terratron's icon tray, and that we're waiting outside of the exit to the Reichman showdown

If that does not work, the link is:

My thanks for the response, I hope this can be resolved soon
    Regards,
    Sam"
    ---

It seems that Beefcake is right. They're expecting us to "suck it up" and do it again once the issue is resolved, unless of course it is awarded once the issue is resolved, to those affected. A course of action I am very much hoping for.
  2. "Your avatar is revolting"

Worst negative rep ever. To Capt. Nameless, Get a SOH and maybe catch some "Arrested Development" sometime
  3. Exactly the same happened to us on defiant.

5 Petitions sent, no e-mail or ingame reply thus far.

    Also,

However, the following statement was not needed.
It was a conditional statement. I'm somewhat praying that the OP is "considering" this course of action, and isn't in fact hitting domination and throwing taser dart around.

"You would need" is perhaps closer to what I meant
  5. "Characters with a Technology origin start out with a Taser Dart.

Being of technological origin, you have access to many little devices, one of which is a Taser Dart of your own design. This attack has a very short range and does minor Energy damage to your target. In addition it has a chance to Hold your opponent for a brief moment. Damage: Minor, Recharge: Fast "

Considering the hold you can take at level 1 has a 100% chance to hold for much, much, much longer than a "brief moment", I'd say that if you're relying on your temporary power as a dominator to hold an EB, you need a serious dose of L2P.

With enough recharge, you can stack your single target hold, several times, after using your mass hold. Add a few procs into your ranged attacks and holds (the +chance for hold ones), and use Power Boost & Megalomaniac, and you've got yourself a dominator that can reliably hold an EB.

A Dominator wasting his endurance on Taser Dart instead of firing off the Single Target Hold again, is one that'd feel my kick boot so far up his behind, that he'll find that he'll have my toes for teeth.

    TL;DR:

Taser Dart isn't affected by domination. So, no...
  6. lol Origin powers.

Isn't that power like, 2 mag for a fraction of a second?

My advice? Scrub the whole concept of giving a rat's **** about origin from your brain and focus on picking a primary and secondary power that you like
  7. Sorry I wasn't there last week guys. These last few months have been busy. As some of you may know, I'm moving to Austria for 9 months as part of my course, and preparations for that are resounding and wanting in almost an endless cycle.

Next Monday I'm travelling around, visiting people before I go, and the following Monday I fly out, so...

It's been a blast guys. Hopefully i'll have my own place with the internet within a few months, but no guarentee. I wish you all the very best, and thanks for the weeks of RP fun!
  8. You understand that the difference between 45% and 60% (even 160%) is minimal, right? Less than a single percentage. Having 60% defense to all bar anything with a +tohit bonus is no better than having 45% defense, as your opponent will always have a 5% chance to hit.

I'd say you were just unlucky, but i've got not idea of what you were actually dealing with, so I can't offer you any insight into what happened

Edit: also, shield has a lot of extra mitigation (shield charge, the +/-dmg aura, static resistances, more HP), and you've only got typed defense, hide and placate to rely on.

Next time, set a death challenge, so nobody can come in and claim you didn't succeed, just because you have no proof.

Grats on a job well done!
Ah, thanks for pointing that out. It wasn't our aim from the offset, so it never occurred to us to set it, it's just how it turned out.

Oh, my Cold doesn't have the shields, apart from Frostwork. Never did enjoy trying to balance buffing, debuffing and damage dealing all at once. My Gamer Lobe isn't large enough for that I fear. The Scrapper's Sofcapped without weave, and his regen combined with Frostwork was enough to recover from the occasional big hit.

Loot wise, no idea, keep in mind that the normal mobs scale to your team size when people "quit" this strike force.
  11. I'm aware that it's been done a few times in the EU (one by Spawnus, one by myself, which is in the backlogs of the forums somewhere). Just succeeded in doing this again tonight, somewhat impromptu, with a friend of mine.

    Screenie

This was completed without the use of temps, all AVs taken down without shivs or nukes etc, and we suffered no deaths.

    Xemulas - Ice/Cold Corruptor
    Uzzi- Katana/Super Reflex Scrapper

We smoothly completed things i've seen full teams struggle with. This surprisingly, went much better than my previous run paired with an Inv/SS Tank.

I've nothing more to say since last time, just announcing this in the hopes of inspiring any challenge junkies, and ensuring those who are interested, can find out *if* a Corr/Scrapper duo has done it before.

NB: The chatbox comments are mainly fuelled by my amazement that our debuffs and DPS were enough

We only really play on a Monday Night, and occasionally on Thursdays. I'm confident in saying that the members, myself included, only RP in that set framework. Worth a shot though
  13. Sounds like he's one of those people whose Mentality gravitates towards Hero Team Dynamics. I agree, it's wholly out of place in a villains team. Suffice to say, I would have had some quite choice words to say in reply to his smug self-satisfied compliment fishing.

This this this this. No matter what combination you have, all it takes is one nubcake or one bolshy person who doesn't like to be told what to do, to ruin it for everyone.

It does a much better job than low percentage low mag confusion auras, i'll tell you that.

    Archery/Trick Arrow

The news of A/TA finally coming redside in i16 gave me a happy rash

    /Storm vrs /Ice

    1) Cold Debuffs Regen.

    2) Cold debuffs 60% resistance (Sleet + Heat Loss)

    3) Cold Buffs allies to 25% Defense, 30% with arctic fog. It can also increase HP by about 1000

    4) Cold slows the enemy to a halt through Snow Storm, Infridgerate, Benumb

    ---

Storm has Freezing Rain and Snow Storm (Slows and -30% res/def)

If you're talking soley about debuffing (and thus ignoring point 3)), then there you have it.

Also, it's called /cold domination, not /ice (as per the title)
  19. I can dice EBs into tiny little bits on my Ice/Ice, and quite often on SFs I hold them too. It's only downscaled EBs that have the Purple Triangles and AVs that I have trouble with.

This just happened to my NW, through elude and mindlink. I was running around 100% def to everything. Accursed RNG!! Went from kicking butt to eating pavement in about 1 second.

I'm assuming Dark Servant wasn't changed to take Accurate ToHit Debuff IOs?
In fact he was, he now accepts them, along with accurate healing (IIRC). I considered swapping to Siphon Insight, but I saw (2) 2% Debt protection, (I think it's debt protection. I may be mistaken) had a quick chuckle to myself, and slotted some more HOs :P

Edit: I also don't see Accurate toHit debuff being worth its salt in Dark Servant, due to his 2.00x base accuracy multiplier. Mine has 3.33x Accuracy from the HOs as, well, you can never have too much. Still, if you needed to cut down on something to make room for more tohit...i'd make it accuracy

I think at the moment in the mid 40s my Lich has mostly -ToHit & 2 -ToHit/Recharge (the recharge dates from before Castles nerfs to pet recharge ), an Acc IO and a Fear IO or two.
Yep, you're right Carni. I'm reluctant to get rid of it as it cost a lost of money, before I realised that Torrent was the only power with a KB component :P. Considering Dark Servant is slotted for -tohit on my Necro Dark, i'm not really short on the stuff, so i'm not desperate to swap. Your 6th slot though is pretty ideal, if you ask me
  24. That's certainly (weird) news to me. Sounds like total BS

I'd like to disagree here. That's a waste of a good Lich

HOs are great in Necro pets, especially the Lich. I've gone 2x Dam/Mez, 1x Acc/Mez, 1x Acc/Dam, 1x Tohit Debuff/End and the Smashing proc from the KB set.

Lich, imo, is not there to do damage. He is there to debuff and control. I'd recommend slotting to complement this.
