  1. I'd probably ask if I wasn't level 50, just to be on the safe side.
  2. Bwa ha ha! "Mission Completed!"

    Fun story!

"Yer mom was a Hellion Girlfriend!"
  3. It's okay.

I won't have trouble finding teams.
  4. Welcome!

I'm glad we were able to help.

    Other future "doh!" moments:

    1) Trying to enter the train via the exit doors
    2) Buying Resistance enhancements, when you wanted Defense, or vice versa
    3) Trying to "find" the "Lost" in King's Row (Look along the south side)

EDIT: Not that anything like that has EVER happened to me...
    >.>

    <.<

    EVER!
  5. Honestly, I can't recall much in-game telling me about global channels. I think it was other players that told me about them.
  6. -Positron Task Force (needs 3 to start, could be 3-4 hrs to finish)
-Finish Hollows Arc with Julius and Talshak, which unlocks Cavern of Transcendence Trial
-Radio Missions in Steel or Skyway or King's Row, which opens the 10-15 Safeguard missions which gets you a temporary travel power
    -Invention Tutorial
    -Regular contacts

    At 15...
-Faultline Arc (starts with Jim Temblor. If you don't have him as a contact by 15, and you want to do this, just walk up and talk with him. Recommended! With a big team, or higher difficulty settings, you could end up fighting a LOT of AVs, if that's your bag.)
-Synapse Task Force (requires 4? to start?, 2-3 hrs to complete.)
-Radio missions in Steel Canyon, Faultline, or Skyway, which opens a Safeguard missions which grants a temporary (non-movement, but still useful) power.
    -Regular Contacts

Geez, no wonder we have an option to turn off xp gain! So much to do!
  7. Formed a PuG Sara Moore Task Force, which requires 8 people, starting at 7am last Saturday morning on Victory. All team members stayed for the entire 3hr 12min required.

Server Global channels are highly recommended.

Also, the player note system allows players to attach notes and 1-5 star ratings to the global identity of "exceptional" players. This "rating" only shows for the person who placed the note, so there's no point in trying to "one-star" someone to grief them. Only you will see that rating.

Awesome players get recognized quickly, (Heraclea, Struder!), and Jerkface-Weenie-Whiners get an appropriate rating and are avoided in the future.

EDIT: So, your past behavior can have consequences in the future, even on different characters, servers, or redside/blueside.

Also, you want to be in a team? Form your own! The new "Supersidekicking" feature is great for forming mixed level teams. Check it out here: www.paragonwiki.com

My experience is that if you are willing to lead, somone is willing to follow. Be firm, be fair, avoid dithering, keep your team informed, make decisions, be chatty, be complimentary, be open to suggestions, and keep it moving!

Not Good recruiting: /t Heroguy, LFT?

Good Recruiting: /t Heroguy, We are doing level 43 missions in Portal Corps, would you like to join us?
  8. I've had two computer with the Antec Nine-Hundred case. Not too pricey, enough room for my stuff, and lotsa case fans with 3 speed switches, with place to put more fans.
  9. Task Force complete! 3:12, merits awarded, and multiple faceplants by me!

Note to self: As squishy defender, do not follow tank into AOE Nemesis alpha strikes.

Thanks to Psy-Shot, Sentai Stone, Mr. Bright, Peregrinas, Sizzlin Sister, Crimson Nymph, and Farshot 2010 (don't think that's right....), for saving my butt! (and accomplishing the mission!)
  10. for the coordinates, your first coordinate is East/West. "East is Least, West is Best"
    Your second is vertical.
Your third is North/South. "North is Negative, South is Superior"
  11. Next up, "the rush to 50!"

Fun in this game exists at all levels. No need to rush to the cap to get to "the real game". It starts in the costume creator!

Besides, features like Level-Pacts, and Supersidekicking make level differences much less of an issue.

Don't know what level-pacting and supersidekicking are?

    Recruiting Drive

So, how to recruit new folks to the game? We all have our gripes about the marketing department at NCSoft, so it's time for a little volunteer time.

Holding a small demo session at the local net cafe?

    Any other suggestions?

I figure, what, 3 hours for this one?

    I'll be on 9AM Eastern, 7AM Mountain, on Saturday 27 March 2010.

    Hope to see you there!
  16. Had a similiar experience when I saw a friend play the game on a EIGHT THOUSAND dollar video-toaster-movie-editor-space-shuttle-launcher.

    So beautiful...

    Ultra Mode coming... Must upgrade....

Can I get money for donating a liver? I've got two, right?
  17. I'm glad they didn't remove the TO/DO/SO availability and utility.

I'm glad they didn't believe in ridiculous long travel times.

I'm glad they didn't lock themselves too tightly into the MMO mould.

I'm glad they didn't believe that different levels shouldn't team together.
  18. Generally, I use SOs on up-and-comers. I find it less of a hassle, and allows me to go to one spot, drop a wad of cash, and get back to kicking pixels. I'll root through our storage bins for anything interesting occasionally.

Perhaps not the most time efficient, as IOs do not need to be replaced as you level. Perhaps not the most money efficient, because I'm spending more on SOs on IOs that don't need immediate replacing.

But, the most fun efficient! For me, anyways.
  19. The guidelines on what get the generic bat are vague.

"A patriotic appearance" shouldn't. "Name or costume ripoff" probably will.

Be original, and go for it. If you get generisized, you can appeal, and you'll get a free rename anyways. Costumes may get scrambled, but they don't take much to fix.

Get a concept and google some art on the patriot types.

I'm trying to rack my brain of all the stars-n-bars type heroes out there...

    Captain America
    Spirit of '76
    Statesman
    USAgent
(Kirby retaliation character for Captain American...)
    ...

Any others you can think of?
  20. The point about adding to team difficulty is good. I expect team members to contribute to success.

If they weren't bubbling, I hope they were blasting the heck out of everything.
  21. Yeah, yeah, don't reply to your own post...

You said you already know about the Mission Architect.

The Mission Architect contains some EXCELLENT stories. Start with the Developer's Choice.
  22. Look for Doctor Caliber, coming soon!
  23. Also, new missions for Daedelus (heroes) and Sister Aurelia (Villains). I assume you're familiar with Cimerora and the Midnight Squad?

Many new powersets have been added. But only level 1's can see 'em .
  24. Brilliant! All of you!

    Respec

A feature was added to allow multiple builds for a single character. This allows different builds for different purposes. (PVE/PVP, solo/team, cheap-for-now/billionaire in progress)

However, the character has the same primary/secondary/archetype/origin/level for both builds.

Each must be respecc'ed separately, and they don't share enhancements.

Some folks will use their second build as a "ghetto respec" if they don't have any expensive enhancements in their first.

You can also rename them. If you haven't used the feature, your other build has not "trained" yet, so you can repick all the powers and enhancement slots.
