Oh, and as far as the "DoooOOoom" folks, I've been playing MMOs long enough now to know that pretty much every MMO has them. Whether they be people that don't like the direction a game has taken or have just grown tired of a game over time and are now convinced they're not tired of it because they've been playing the game for x years and it's stale to them now, but rather it's because The Sky Is Falling.
I tend to ignore that kinda stuff: I'm having fun in-game and enjoying the community so far. That's the only thing I tend to form an opinion of an MMO on.

Yeah, and with GvE and Ninja, you can repeatedly jump though the air, essentially flying, but at the jump cap, not the fly cap. I think the fastest I have gone is 63 or so on a lv 46.
IMO, Ninja Run is a true travel power. SS lacks vertical movement without using the raptor pack. SJ is just like a tall NR that takes up a power. Fly is the only one that remains unique, as you can chat while poking through the sky, immune to enemies and all terrain, and also getting to the mission last. Unless a SS fell in a fissure or something. [har har har]
Oh I know. I was just putting out the Normal "warning" to tell OP not to worry too much about those "dooOOomm" sayers about Nrg. I love my Namesake blaster. Totally fun!

To answer your question, Postagulous, I'm playing a scrapper at the moment. I've also fooled around a little bit with a controller, but it seems to me that controller is a bit more of a challenge, so I'll likely hold off on that toon until I'm a bit more competent. Scrapper is a blast, though. In fact, the depth of character creation and development options are one of the biggest reasons I so instantly liked CoH, so I know eventually I'll have to fool around with alts.
And I'll remember going forward, that I'm a lowbie, and newb is preferable to noob.
Oh, and what's the Ninja Pack? Is that like an upgrade you can buy or something?
Kinda sorta no not really. You do get a couple emotes, a universal travel power and some costume peices. That's like most of the other packs. They have specific powers/costumes/emotes with the pack.
Scrappers can be very fun, but just be carefull not to jump too far ahead of tanks. Blasters (some) will make some teams mad depending on the type. Nrg/Nrg makes some mad while others don't make a fuss as long as things are dying.

A few months ago got a tell asking for a team to help level fast from a lowby. I wasn't even on a toon to be able to do that. I was on my Traps/Ar defender. Yea.... let's see how that works. LOL

Ran (being me/ie. myself, leader) KTF a couple weeks ago.
Kin/Rad. Solo build. NO SB/ID, but the rest of all the goodies. Also have Leader defense/attack (names escape me atm). No one complained AND we rocked the TF fast! Why you ask?? Because I know how to use my defender even without the SB and ID. Did I heal? Yes when needed. Did I attack? HELL YES!!! My Radiation attacks are slotted for damage, plus the Fulcrum and Aim add to damage.
I even told team that I didn't have SB and no crying ensued. Now, did I have a Team Build also? Yes, but they were very ok with my build because we took down monsters with it very fast.
Star does not = Tyrant. It's for leader to pick missions to suit team. Not dictate who's build sucks and to kick according to sucky builds and what not. Yes, kick for being a jerk. But for builds?? Pshhhh!!!

Even my Emp/Defender has a very full attack chain + all of the goodies. If anybody cries that I'm not "playing" like you want me to? Buh-bye!!! -

Uhhh... Sorry, here's a problem also Vitality. Even though we bought it, CoV was thrown at us later for free because it was the same game more or less. No one knew it was coming for free. No one waited till it was free.

I'm glad they are taking more time to get bugs out unlike in earlier years. The issues were pushed out with alot of bugs.

A well known Scrapper others forgot to mention... Spines/Regen. Is a kinda Ranged/Mele type toon. It's very easy for New people.

Very confusing to me.
The same problem that everyone is having with that. The leathal kills the Oil Slick before the fire/nrg/etc get's a chance to hit it 1st. It's been a known problem from way back.
But... if you use say.. Exploding on a mob while OS is in that mob... it might work. I usually use Lightning ball with OS in the mob and it works about 95% of the time.

Funny thing that alot of people are still finding that out. I had to remind people sometimes on TF's why I'm using it on Bosses/AV's/EB's that are pain in the buttoxes. It's a very good power to use for the stun factor everytime it's up. 3 Rech IO's and it's golden!

Keep it, slot it, love it.
I have one at lvl 50 still go back to him for the Pew-pew-pew, mass damage, mass KB, NRG Ball that he is.
If others have a problem with the KB... pshhh, keep on shooting and doing the damage that you can do. Just use it to your advantage.
Also: just don't shoot 1st with your Mini-AoE's.
