  1. ((This is just an idea I had about a year or so ago. I was really big on making solo bases at the time and had different plans that I was trying but this one I kept putting off. It was for my character Toy-Man and finally finished it for the most part. I'll still be adding details and rooms over time but this is it's current lay out. I know it's nothing major compared to many bases I've seen, but I like it

For anyone that's interested after the last picture is the store of Toy-Man and his base.))

    Street View:

    The store:

    Passage behind the bookshelf:

    Toy-Man's living quarters:

Entrance into the sewer/original base in sewer:

    The clubhouse area:

    Medbay:

    Workshop:

Stairs to second floor (for those who can't fly):

    Lounge area and kitchen:

Balcony for fliers and quick exit in time of need:

    Game/Movie room:

((There's still work to be done for the most part as I hope to keep expanding it as time goes on and adding in more details to it (like add more rooms to the second floor)

If anyone is interested in using the base for a place of RP I'm open to coalitioning with your group, granted that it's 'kids/teens' using the base. The coalition the base has at the moment is with Union Supreme which at times uses it for their teenage heroes as a hideout.

If interested just let me know or if you have any suggestions on what I could add to make it better that would also be appreciated

    Story:

North of the High Park district of Kings Row stands an old forgotten toy store simply named The Toy Store. It was, and as far as many people know still, owned by an older man and his son. The man's wife was killed during an attack Kings Row by the clockwork titan known as Paladin. But it wasn't the monster that took the woman's life, but a young careless hero who was fighting Paladin. The man watched as a fireball smashed into his wife, just a moment after she pushed their son out of the way.

That fireball sparked a hatred in the man. A hatred that grew stronger and stronger, until he started to neglect the only family he had left and the store that had been his father's. The toymaker studied weapons and advance machinery and eventually started making weapons for the villains and gangs of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles and selling them out of the The Toy Store after hours.

While the Toy-Man fiddled with his weapons his son ran the business during the day after school, unaware of his father's activities. But unaware to his father, the boy had a mutant gene that grants him superhuman intuitive talent for inventing devices, the ability to visually perceive mechanical energy. But as the boy mainly only built toys, both the father and son believed it was just traits passed down from his grandfather.

Years passed before the son stumbled upon his father's real life and plans. By this time the boy never really seen his father and had gotten use to living on his own and running the store by himself. Through the news and friends at school the boy had figured out what was really the cause of his creative inventions and had built toys with artificial intelligence that served as his main companions. Hating what his father had turned into, the boy snuck into his underground work shop and damaged a device that his father had been working on, thinking it would cause his employers to seek weapons else where. It was only a few weeks later when the boy returned to the workshop to find his father sitting at his desk, dead.

The weapon that was there before was gone, but his father had no visible injuries and just seemed like he died in his sleep, but suspicion still ate at him. Knowing what would happen to him if people found out he was now an orphan, the boy had his machines take his father's body and bury it in a cemetery in the Rogue Isles.

He then dawned a new costume to pretend to be his father, but sold anyone who came by faulty weapons with tracking devices in them to, from to time, tip the police off on where the crime is taking place. Eventually the boy decided to use his toys to fight crime around his home in Kings Row. He sold his father's house and rebuilt the basement workshop into living quarters. During the remodeling he discovered that a closed off sewer network was close to the basement. He then tunneled into the network and built his own base of operations inside the sewer. From here he could tap into every security camera in Paragon City and used this to patrol the area. When he seen a crime going on he would send his toys, that are scattered around the city, to the location to handle the situation.

It was during his patrols where he noticed more and more kids and teenagers fighting the street gangs. It was also at this point where he realized how lonely he had become since he dropped out of school to run the store and patrol the city. Almost immediately the boy started working in another part of the sewer and built "The Clubhouse", a separate section that housed a medical bay, the boy's new workshop, kitchen, and lounge areas. He also expanded his base of operations to include a meeting table and more monitors. His idea was to offer the lone kid heroes of Paragon City a place to meet, a place to be safe, and a place to get away from their adult superiors.

The boy kept his father's name of Toy-Man and anytime he seen a kid or teenage hero in trouble he offered his assistance and his card, with directions on where to find The Toy Store and how to enter the clubhouse.

That other superhero MMO the others mentioned having the grappling hook also allows you to run on water and up buildings when you use super speed. The game has some nice features, you just can't be as 'creative' on it as you can in CoH....imo of course.
  3. yeah probably with all my friends is that they're mostly get on generally at the same time which is when I recently haven't been able to get on so I've just been trying to find random new people as of late.

Actually I had just read your post before posting this thread and plan on being there and looking forward to it!
  4. So since my play time is so sporadic as of late I decided to just stop trying to join SGs as I don't feel like I can put in the time to be a contributing member and plus any group I've joined seems like when I log on there is no one else on.

That being said I decided to just make my guy a solo base and do what I did with my villain for a while and RP in...*clears throat*...Pocket D.....

Is there any other places to find RP?

Or is there any kind of SG or SG Coalition that's more or less just solo RP heroes that's in a group...Like an apartment complex SG or something?
  5. Actually I would like the swing but just because I would still like a travel power that a Natural character (story wise of course) can use without the aid of something like a jetpack or hacking into the medical bay teleporters or something along those lines. I'm using the Ninja Run at the moment and it's nice that it stacks with Swift but at the same time it'd be nice to see something like the grappling hook or vehicles.

Of course that's just me being picky :-P
  6. Just curious on what others think. I know we've gotten new 'travel powers' in terms of beast and ninja runs and such but I mean full 4 (or 5 come i21) powers per set Travel Powers that can be enhanced and such?
  7. My first toon that pops into mind would have to be Cartoon. A warmace brute that has the Strong Man Mallet for a weapon...or one of them at least.

He's pretty much every 90's saturday morning cartoon rolled into one (I say 90's because todays cartoons aren't like they were back then). Mainly Animaniacs, The Mask, The Creeper, Looney Tunes. AND his 'origin' written in the 'details section' is a reworded song that Batty sang in Fern Gully.

Another character that I made after watching a show for awhile is Mystic Hunter which was inspired by Juniper Lee.

Night Robin which was inspired by Batman Beyond.

A Danny Phantom inspired toon that I recently tweaked some as to not be too closely resembled.

Mega-Knight was inspired by the 90s cartoon King Arthur and the Knights of Justice although MK's story is somewhat reversed from the shows.

Demon Tamer was inspired by Kekkaishi which isn't really a saturday morning cartoon here.

Tom Orrow is a mixture of The Time Squad and James Bond jr.

    Firebender came from Avatar.

Reaver came from the animated series of WILDCats.
  8. Thanks a lot for the tips and suggestions. I'll have to look over this more thoroughly tonight when I can be in game

    Again thank you very much!
  9. I've never really messed with IOs much but I've been messing around with my lvl 50 Archery/TA corrupter lately and he just feels a little weak. I know IOs are the way to go but I have no idea where to even start.

Could anyone suggest some sets or a build I could go by for Arch/TA? Oh also I have a couple hundred million inf to sink into them, I know that's not much considering a full IO set but it's a start.
  10. It has dropped under 15 but so has my other base and it still hasn't gone into debt.

I think I actually do have a storage unit in the second base. Will have to check when I get home after I clear up the debt and rent.

    Thank you for the response
  11. I have two solo bases, both are just for my enjoyment/RP purposes so they have no power items period. I recently was away from the game for awhile and since I've been back I've been checking on different characters and noticed that the second base that I built has 100 prestige in rent due and is currently at -75k prestige. My first base is still fine and rent free.

The only thing I can think of is that the second base is in coalition with a SG. Is that the reason I am in debt due to rent?
  12. I don't know about their current status but I was briefly apart of this group that was centered around magic. Really enjoyed the RP but my play time compared to a majority of theirs didn't match up well.

    Worth a shot to give a look;

The one thing we do look IC for in potential members is "the Will to be Dauntless," the true desire to become a part of this fellowship. This point will be addressed in the IC interview.

Activity: Our prime time is predominantly North American in the evenings, with Mondays as our weekly SG night.

I am pretty sure you can read for yourself some of the issues with melee pets, especially ninjas since there is a thread right next to your 3 pages long about them.

Ever wonder why some pop singer after becoming famous decides to do something else like cooking for example or open up a clothing line. Its because more then likely if they went the other way they would have never been famous and had the funding to do so.

Make your traps toon, have a kick butt, play on full setting toon that can solo on 4/8 and then you can experiment with what you want because you have something to fall back on if your concept does not work well with the game mechanics.

I have a DS Pain and I can tell you I surely survive. But my pets are a different story. I think with the new changes maybe Thermal might be better.

Thanks for the reply, I actually have been looking around and reading a lot on these forums and decided to just stick with the traps. I'm sure I'll end up doing a different MM with PD just to test it out.
  14. I recently started playing one of my favorite toons who is currently a Thugs/Traps MM. Due to the hours I play lately (and the sometimes short instances) I've been soloing more than I use too. I have been blowing through missions with my character but I recently tried a concept with a ninja/PD MM and liked the idea of just healing my pets.

Either one of these will work for my current character idea so I'm trying to decide which would be more fun to play as. I do like how I currently play with me setting the pets to attack as I run around with stealth and set traps under peoples feet, but the idea of being "a healer on a lone team" seems fun and also I would think this would help keep my thugs alive longer.

Overall which of the two tends to be the better choice for a MM?

Hmm well that's disappointing but I understand they're trying to give a better "End Game" than what we previously had.
  16. I've been away for some time so I have yet to try any of these trials and I also just never really messed around with the merit system (I have a few 50s but tend to make and play lower level characters a lot). To be honest the main thing that interested me in this issue is the costume auras. I understand they are merit rewards but can you only unlock them with a level 50?
  17. Thank you all for the replies, and you were right I wasn't taking in account for Ultra Mode, just the Going Rogue expansion. It would be nice to run the game at full blast but oh well, guess that will just be something I take into consideration next time I have to get a new computer
  18. After messing with the graphics of this game for a long time I'm ready to give up. The stats on Canyourunit.com state that I have enough power to run the game at full blast but still it's very jumpy and just not very crisp. Could anyone give me some advice on what I may be doing wrong.

  20. I haven't decided yet but I'm considering backing up certain portions of my computer and reformatting it. It's just gotten really slow as of late and cleaning and running scans seem to be doing little to nothing.

The CoX games are the only ones on my computer that I'm concerned about and I don't believe I have the discs anymore so I'd have to go buy the Arch version or something along those lines to reinstall it. If I do this will I have to put in a new serial number? And if I do will I loose any packs and Going Rogue that I've bought through the NCSoft store and applied to my current account?

I'm thinking I can just install it and then just log on as normal but I don't want to take the risk before knowing for sure.
  21. I'm a councilor in The Union Supreme and we're currently recruiting. We're a medium to heavy RPing SG. We stay in character for the most part but also hang out and talk about anything. We're also active in RP on our website with written RP if that's something you're interested in (not required if you'd rather just RP in the game).

We're not very strict on the RP, but we are a Justice League-ish themed group. Meaning we have a wide variety of characters (magic users, mutants, brooding batmanish characters, etc) but all have generally the same views like no killing. But all ATs are welcome as long as your theme fits into the group idea. Example; a gunslinging trick shooter tries to stop criminals by shooting the weapons out of their hands would be great, a gunslinging punisher who wants to kill the criminals or not worry about the civilians in the way would not work

We do team night missions every Tuesday and looking into having more theme teamed nights. Our RP missions aren't always 'go here, arrest him' as most of our team RP missions take place in the AE (player made missions).

If we sound like something you'd be interested in please visit our site, take a look around, fill out an application and we'll see what happens

Also if you have any questions just let me know and I'll be happy to help.
  22. I've always wanted to do my own drawings but the problem is I have tons of ideas and visualization but no drawing skills (ya know, one of those people who can't draw a perfect circle). A friend told me that since I'm good with computers I should try digital art/3D modeling. I spent a few hours looking up programs and downloaded Daz 3D and Blender. I haven't tried messing with Blender yet but have downloaded all the free models and such for Daz3D.

My questions are first off is there a way to create my own clothes or can I only use the ones I downloaded? Do I have to go to Photoshop or a simular program, draw the designs I want then put them on the clothes?

Is this going to be hard to learn and with me having little drawing skills am I just in major trouble and getting over my head?

I'm not expecting anyone to hold my hand in the process but if someone could possibly point me in the right direction that would be extremely helpful

    Thank you for your time.
  23. Sorry for my ignorance but I've been away for awhile now. If I pre-ordered GR from the NCSoft store back in March or May or whatever then I don't have to buy/rebuy it from the store? I would answer my question for myself buy the updater is taking it's time so I can't get to the game to see if I have the new options.

Like I said, dumb question but I can't remember if I put a set amount down on the expansion or paid it off already.
  24. The Captain America shield was actually in the first Iron Man movie but very subtle. Youtube it.

Found out last night that Captain America was also in a deleted scene in the last Hulk movie.

They announced a Thor movie last year, I think it'll be interesting to see how they do it. They seem to be wanting to make it as realistic as possible so I'm curious to see how they do the demigod.
