Pain Domination or Traps?
Play what you like is the answer. But game mechanic wise stick with Thug Traps.
I am pretty sure you can read for yourself some of the issues with melee pets, especially ninjas since there is a thread right next to your 3 pages long about them.
Ever wonder why some pop singer after becoming famous decides to do something else like cooking for example or open up a clothing line. Its because more then likely if they went the other way they would have never been famous and had the funding to do so.
Make your traps toon, have a kick butt, play on full setting toon that can solo on 4/8 and then you can experiment with what you want because you have something to fall back on if your concept does not work well with the game mechanics.
I have a DS Pain and I can tell you I surely survive. But my pets are a different story. I think with the new changes maybe Thermal might be better.

Thanks for the reply, I actually have been looking around and reading a lot on these forums and decided to just stick with the traps. I'm sure I'll end up doing a different MM with PD just to test it out.

I recently started playing one of my favorite toons who is currently a Thugs/Traps MM. Due to the hours I play lately (and the sometimes short instances) I've been soloing more than I use too. I have been blowing through missions with my character but I recently tried a concept with a ninja/PD MM and liked the idea of just healing my pets.
Either one of these will work for my current character idea so I'm trying to decide which would be more fun to play as. I do like how I currently play with me setting the pets to attack as I run around with stealth and set traps under peoples feet, but the idea of being "a healer on a lone team" seems fun and also I would think this would help keep my thugs alive longer.
Overall which of the two tends to be the better choice for a MM?
