Sorry you don't like it being used in this game. But to get rid of inconvenience-as-a-balancing-factor, the entire power mechanics would have to be gutted and rebuilt from the ground up.

I should try that when I get home... I'll make a backup copy of it just in case something odds happens, thanks for the advice.
Also look for one called majorpatch something, if that's there, try putting -mp as a flag on the start-up command in the shortcut. If that doesn't work, then delete it along with checksum.
Another thing to try is exiting the game the long way (countdown out) through all the exit menus rather than exiting shutting off the client. -

The downloader doesn't report correct d/l speeds. If it's downloading a large file, it won't update its progress during that file and then you have, in effect, zero b/s being figured into the total d/l speed.
But if it is going real slow in reality, you can try using different ports. -
There was a bug causing powers to be cleared on the Third Build of toons every time they zoned.
That was supposedly fixed with the last patch.
Now we're hearing from folks that it's happening on the main build. In most cases, on toons not played for a long time.
So, it's a sort of known issue. But go ahead and /bug it so the devs can track down what's causing it. -
It seems you started in Galaxy City. So, your initial contact should be in the Freedom HQ behind Back Alley Brawler.
At level 8, you've outleveled that initial contact, but they should still refer you up the line to a contact who will give you missions.
Alternatively, since you're level 8, go to Kings Row. Open your contact list and find the Kings Row Detective. Click on him and follow the waypoint to him. Talking to him will add a new Contact to your Contact Window, the Police Scanner.
Click on the Scanner in the Contact window to pick up a Scanner Mission. Do three Scanner Missions and then you'll be referred back to the Detective who will give you a Safeguard Mission (stop the bank robbery). If you succeed in stopping the robbery, you'll get a Fly Pack. Whether you fail or succeed the Safeguard, the Detective will introduce you to a new contact for missions. -

The Alpha Slot powers work exemplared down to 45. They stop working at 44 and below. That is in the patch notes and has been verified by player testing. (Originally, in Closed Beta, it was stated they wouldn't work exemplared at all, that may be where the confusion is coming from. But, that was changed shortly before Live.)
It is unknown under what conditions other slots will or won't work. Unknown. Will other slots work while exemplared? Unknown. Will other slots work with non-Incarnate End-Game content? Unknown.
We only know how the Alpha Slot works.
It is unknown whether other slots will have level shifts or not. A leak of slot info showed at least some others had it. But, like anything before it goes Live, it could change (just like the exemplaring conditions of the Alpha Slot changed in Test). Especially something that's not even in regular Closed Beta yet, but still in pre-Closed Beta. So......... unknown. -

Do three more Targeted Strask forces, and in some soloing, and you'll have your Very Rear (Tier 4) Alpha Power.
If you keep your character a Vigilante or Rogue, they can chose each week whether to do the red or blueside Straskforce so that you can pick the teaming environment least objectionable to you.
So, over the course of 4 weeks, 4 Strask Forces and that character is done. With Alpha. -

The best we got was a comment that he couldn't talk about it. Which means something is in the works... for good or ill.

All the hazard/trial zones had their level gate removed with the exception of PvP and Hami Zones.

Others convinced them to remove an AE from Croatoa, which I thought was silly to do if you had one in every other zone that was just as unlikely to have one.
Anyway, back to the D. If they did have an AE in the D, Praetoria would not have been a problem. There is code to exclude Praetorians from certain missions. And the AE terminals could have been put in a room in the D that excluded Praetorians. -

WRT Alpha Slot's Soloability:
1. The first two tiers of the Alpha Slot are soloable.
2. The third and fourth tier, which gives the Level Shift and extra and more powerful universal enhancements, is not soloable and will not be soloable for I19.5. Your toon will have to participate in at least one Task/Strike force for a Notice of the Well which is necessary to craft tiers 3 & 4. The Notices are not obtainable in any other way, not even by crafting. The third tier is gated by 1 Notice of the Well. The fourth by 3 more. Obtaining the Notices is also gated by time: only 1 per week.
3. It is unknown whether when I20 comes or at some time after that that tiers 3 & 4 will ever be soloable. It is unknown. Unknown. The Developer, Black Scorpion, has posted that the Devs are aware of a desire for soloability of the upper tiers and the Devs will look into it. There has been no promise that it will even happen at all, let alone when.
WRT the Soloability of the Other Slots.
1. It has been mentioned that there will be a Raiding System introduced in I20 and in future issues that will be part of the End Game Content that will open up the other slots.
2. Raiding implies teaming and not any soloable content.
3. There has been no mention of any soloable content apart from raiding that will allow solo-only players to obtain and slot the other Incarnate Slots. None. That doesn't exclude solo content when I20 goes live or at some time in the future, but there's been no confirmation of new solo Incarnate content.
4. What Black Scorpion said about the Devs looking into player concerns with regard to the upper tiers of the Alpha Slot probably encompasses looking into all of the Incarnate system.
This is the current situation. There are unknowns. A thread was started so the Devs could read player feedback on this issue here.
