Temp Travel Powers are greyed out in Ouroboros, so, I would say that whatever they did is now in a bugged state.

Same chord progression? Yes. Almost all of pop uses the same chord progression.
Same 'style'? Yes. Pop disco is pop disco. Almost all of pop disco sounds like almost all of pop disco.
Same melody. No.
An obvious homage that's derivative but not plagiarism. -

Basically, it's a Tip Mission that falls outside the morality system. It unlocks the new Villain TF. Much like the Tip Mission that now accompanies the Halloween Event. -
If people find kicking too drastic, you can always ask for a Temp Power drag before you start and move the people who do it new teams. Then move the holdouts to individual or small sized teams. Then you can keep track of who did it. Then send /tells to the hold outs.
Then kick. -
I hope the player side Ustream is heavily moderated.
Besides folks posting the same inane question over and over again causing rapid scrolling. What do you do if someone started posting material not suited for a Teen rating? -
Quote:Which is worse is not debatable... obviously a small mammal. The actual expression is. The idea is that some people's nether closing is so tight (and thus, the person is uptight) that one hair sets them off on a tizzy. The expression is doubly insulting in that it's saying the person is uptight, and what they're currently on a tear about is ridiculously unimportant. It's "hare", not "hair". "Hair" makes no sense. I have plenty of hairs in my *** and I barely notice. A wild hare, on the other hand, might make me a bit jumpy.
Well, technically, healing doesn't *mitigate* damage. It's a response to and a replacement of lost HP.Quote:In my opinion, 'healing' is only one portion of the whole aspect of damage mitigation.
1. Damage prevention is the most desirable. (Defense, Control)
2. Damage mitigation is the next most desirable. (Resist, high HP, -Dam, other debuffs, soft control)
3. Damage replacement is next. (Heal, Regen)
4. Rez comes in last.
And in practice, #2 and #3 work hand in hand helping each other. But I wouldn't put #3 above #2. You can have the greatest Healer in the world, but massive damage that kills a player very quickly will make that Healer useless (unless they have Rez). -

Quote:I ask them to drag their bottom-most Temp Power since that is where the other Temps wind up. No drag, no go. Kick.Something you can do before you start is ask everyone on the league to drag and drop a temp into the chat window - that way you can see for sure if they all know how to find their temps

"Why'd you kick me?"
"You didn't follow instructions in League Chat. I'll invite you back in if you'll follow instructions. Do you want back in?" -

There's a lot of time travel no-no's happening now (which is fine with me because this is science fantasy, not science fiction). But I don't want to see them overused.
You get out of a jam because your future you shows up to tell you how to get out of the jam. Then, once out of the jam, you go back in time to tell yourself how to get out of the jam you were in order to prevent a paradox. Well, umm... there's still the paradox of reversing cause and effect in order to create the loop in the first place.
It's like when the Doctor appeared to Rory to set in motion how to get him out of the Pandoricon. Once freed, he goes back in time to Rory to set in motion how to get himself out of the Pandoricon.
The problem with this reverse cause and effect loop is that you might as well use it for every jam you're in. About to be dropped in a volcano? Wait for your future self to show up to save you. Then, once saved, go back in time and save yourself. Repeat for all jams.
The Doctorverse needs some sort of rule that limits that ego ex machina. -
Quote:Wait.. you mean you can't run faster than the speed of light and travel in time by running *in place* on a treadmill?True, but according to the comics Superspeedsters don't have to worry about relativity unless the plot calls for it - which probably explains why everyone the Flash ever knew wasn't dead by the end of his first issue - so I'm not sure they can always be trusted

Quote:1. It's 'hair', not 'hare.' <shudder>Has any game ever had healers who didn't also buff?
"Oooo! Oooo! We're different from all those other games because of the presence of characters who play exactly the same as they do in those other games!!! I'm special damnit!!!!!!!!!! SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
This is just a stupid hare people in CoX have decided to have up their *****.
2. The point of those who say 'there are buffs other than heals' is that there are whole Defender ATs who specialize in buffs which could be more beneficial to a team than heals. The touchy part is because of other MMOs' holy trinity, players who are used to that trinity tend to dismiss other types of defenderish powers. Those players wind up looking only for 'healers' as if some other type of Defender couldn't keep the team alive as well (if not better). Not that being a 'Healer' is bad, but thinking only a 'Healer' Defender will be able to keep the team alive is not the case in CoH.
3. The other problem with 'Healers' in CoH is when they see their role as being almost exclusively as a Healer. They don't use their other buffs. They don't use their damage attacks. If the other players have good defense, or there are other defenders or controllers on the team keeping everyone buffed, the foes debuffed or locked down... well, then, there's no need for healing at all. The 'Healer' who's doing nothing but rocking a Heal Aura that's not needed is just dead weight.
Getting to the OP: Healing, as wonderful as it is when damage has taken place is secondary to any power that prevents that damage in the first place. If the teammates' defenses are buffed so they don't take damage, or the foes are debuffed or controlled so that they can't give damage... well, that's a better situation than taking damage and having to heal it. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
A dedicated healer is necessary for situations when damage is unavoidable (for example, a Hamidon Raid). But in this era of soft caps and other powerful damage mitigating powers.... healing is rarely necessary. -
Quote:<<hugs Memphis_Bill>>Also, ZM, I do owe you an apology. You irritated me far more than this discussion should have, and I reacted poorly. (Let's just leave it as "there were other things going on that had nothing to do with you.") I've been snapping at you and shouldn't have.
... well, mostly.
In any case, my behaviour towards you here has been less than stellar, and I do apologize for it.
I shouldn't have egged you on when that happened. My apologies, too.
Let's never fight again. Let's remember who are real enemies are... the Devs!*
*Just kidding!
I think the whole Trial v. Raid nomenclature problem is akin to the whole Task Force v. Trial discussions of old. There are multiple factors that aren't consistently always matched with each other. There are hybrids and overlaps and multiple versions. Just look at the Hami 'Raid' repurposed as a mission of the LGTF or the Treespec 'Trial' repurposed as a mission of the STF.Quote:It would be more akin to a raid than a trial or task force then, yes. I'd expect the content inside to be adjusted to be appropriate for the higher potential team sizes.
I just don't want what we have to be painted with the broad brush of "Raiding System" which evokes the worst of WoW's heyday of Raids, which itself has transformed over time.
I'd be just as happy as calling them all just one thing, whether it be Raid, Trial, or Task Force and then specifying whether they're single or multi-teamed and whether they're open zone or instanced. All the other signifiers such as contacts or timed or special rewards are, IMO, mostly insignificant to the 'type' of event it is mechanically. -

Quote:OK!Please implement this.
Currently i DC/Crash if i'm on a league during MSR or Hami when people start spamming destiny buffs. I do not DC nor crash if im solo or if im on a non league team.
Currently on Test, coming to Live real soon. -
The OP needs to change tactics on teams so that they're actually supporting rather than trying to mix it up over their heads and die a lot.
Soloing, the OP needs a second build which ignores the other-only buffs and focus on the self buff, foe debuffs, and damage.
Or, the OP needs to switch to Corrupters. -

I would be more generous with a paid pack that bumped your Vet Rewards and badges as if you were playing since day one.
After seven years, newbies are facing the prospect that they'll never get to the seven year Vet rewards because it's not likely that CoH will be around seven years from now. But, for a few bucks, they can catch themselves up as if temporally side kicked to a long time Vet, thus: Super Side Kicked! -
In addition to having these badges account wide, I was also just posting my suggestion for a Booster that would enable anyone to 'catch up' with the haves.

Quote:The Wiki definition was created by players trying to discern the difference between Task Force and Trials in the game since the Devs never gave a definition themselves. I could very easily change that Wiki definition. I was asking *you* to define your terms.
Current trials actually listed as trials:
- Respec trial
Definition from the wiki:
Quote:A Trial is a type of mission arc that is similar to a Task Force or Strike Force but with fewer missions. Trials contain unusual encounters with enemies that require a high level of cooperation between team members to conquer. Special rewards are given at the end of trials, such as respecifications or enhancements that affect multiple attributes. Most contain a timed finale mission.
But remember, this Wiki definition of a Trial is derived from those things which the Developers named as Trials. The definition is based on figuring out the common features of Trials based on the Dev's terminology. So, if they're calling these new Trials as Trials, then the Dev's definition wins out, right? If not, then using the Wiki for your Definition is irrelevant, since it's based on Dev nomenclature.
And, BTW, the Eden Trial is also still called a Trial. As well as the Caverns of Transcendence and the Cathedral of Pain and the Sewers, all of which are timed. That's more than just the Rescpec Trial, which is the odd-man-out in not being Timed. And the Caverns is the odd man out with no special reward like Special Enhancements or a Respec.
So, for you, a Raid has multiple teams. So, is the multiple team Cathedral of Pain *Trial* (sorry for not using oversized font) a Raid, then?Quote:Raids in game:
- Hamidon
- Mothership
So, let's look at the Incarnate raids:
- Multiple teams required
- Specific to certain zone (in this case a special intance)
- No contacts
You say a multiple team is *required*. But Lambda can be started and completed with a single team of eight.
You say a Raid is specific to a zone. But then immediately contradict yourself parenthetically by acknowledging the two Dev-named *Trials* are instances, and not a zone anyone can walk into.
And you can't walk into those instances and start the so-called raid. You have to go through the Team-up Teleporter. The TuT is new. You make it out to be contact-less, thus, a Raid. But raids happen in zones anyone can walk into. You can't do that with the Incarnate Trials. The TuT is not typical of Raids.
And besides, these TuTs 'events' do have a contact, Prometheus. He tells you all about the iTrials. His blue text is in the NPC chat talk-over. There's a brand new mechanic in the game, the TuT, and the contact, Prometheus, utilizes that new mechanic to put you into an Incarnate *Trial*.
I look forward to your reply. -
