    6 hour downtime

A game that I've been looking forwards to is out tomorrow, along with all the news of PAX from this game and others. So a little downtime is some reprieve!
  2. Is it just me who finds it odd that the power with the most chance to spread Disintegration is an interruptible snipe power? I don't know about others, but typically if I'm using a snipe, I'm soloing, and that's the first attack I make (other than aim/build up or such) so there'd be no Disintergration on them to spread, and even if I used that first, I'd have to be sniping while under fire.

The highest chance for disintegration spread on that attack just seems a bit of a pointless addition.
  3. Does that make VIP's the Vourgeoisie?

I don't really have a preference. I have Rogues and Villains, but they all do different things. I've got Arachnos hardliners who do what they to do preserve the organization and the balance on the Rogue Isles. I've got two villains coming in i21, an amoral lab experiment experiencing freedom for the first time and a WW2 villain out for revenge on someone who turned traitor and sided with the US. I've got a woman who runs a manpower/intelligence business and rules her small area with an iron fist, a dark witch who steals arcane items because she can and to spite her ex-husband, a tearaway Mu-blooded young woman who does whatever arcane jobs she can to stay afloat in the isles. Finally there's a demon who offers infernal pacts to those in need.

They all have different M.O's and styles to them.
  5. Some should be glamorous. Some should be disgusting. Some should be misguided. Some should be mad. Some should be filthy gorgeous. Some should be doing the wrong things for the right reason. Some should be loyal to Arachnos. Some should be disloyal to Arachnos. Some should be loyal to only themselves, or a small band of others. Some should act on behalf of a higher calling. Some should act on behalf of ascending to that higher calling.

There's no, or shouldn't be, one path of villainy.
  6. No Sword of Riva? I mean, how many swords have a sentient pommel stone of incredible power that fell from the stars and was polished by a god? The large sword itself was forged of Meteoric Iron that fell from the sky and had a hero guided by a dream to where it landed. The magic of the orb that's the pommel stone renders it lighter than regular weapons to wield, and ignites the blade in blue fire when wanted.

Just not enough love for the Belgariad

78 months I've been playing. I've done the Steel Canyon Icon run, the Kings Row > Independence Port Icon run. More available options to change my character's look or tweak on the fly while gaming take nothing away from the game for me. They add more.

You still have to go to Icon for Tailor Missions, the Fashion Designer Day Job Badge, the Day Job Tailor Discount Coupons, and some of the Super Tailors. (There's Trina in the Tiki Lounge in Pocket D, and the RWZ Tailor that have Super Tailor Functionality.)
  8. There's never been any point in trainers being trainers, seeing as I highly doubt they can teach a 174 year old demon cowboy how to shoot his magical guns or use his infernal fire.

I find it's very useful, especially as in Praetoria the Tailor is in Imperial City.

Also this lets you get into the game from the tutorial and edit your up to 5 costume slots if you have them, then get to playing.
  9. It'd be nice if Vigilantes and Rogues got a little something extra. Maybe Vigilante/Rogue only vendors who sold temp powers? Buy tools of vengeance or gear to help facilitate the accumulation of profit and material things.

Extra nice would be Rogue-only Story Arcs in Paragon City/Vigilante-only Story Arcs in the Rogue Isles.

Wasn't the point to let us pick and choose, or was that pick-and-choose within a bracket before moving on to the next one?
Pick and choose within a bracket. So for Tier 8, you could grab /auctionhouse first, then /vault, then perhaps the Reborn in Battle power, then Inner Inspiration.

Or maybe you want the auras, and go for them first, then Inner Inspiration, then the rez, then vault, then Auction house, or so on and so forth.

Also, an insta-recharge on Reconstruction when you use Instant Healing would be stellar ^_^
I like these ideas. Integration should also probably reset to recharged as well, being a bread and butter regen/mez protection toggle, so you can get back into the fight quicker.

Instant Healing instant-recharging Reconstruction is a fair start also. Maybe adding a heal over time effect on Reconstruction when used with IH, also?
  12. The Atlas Park badge near the Recluse's Victory portal can be gained by a Rogue with the help of a hero/vigilante and Recall Friend/Shadow Recall. Only the door stops you getting in, they can beam you in and then you could get them to TP you out, use a base transporter, Pocket D teleport, Wentworths teleport or Mission Teleport.

Been nice reading this, I don't generally play the market, but some interesting tips to utilize!
  13. Random possible Regen Buff thoughts:

Revive comes with a +Regen, post-regeneration buff in addition to some protection straight after rezzing to get toggles running again? (Totally not been watching Doctor Who for the first idea >.>)

Resiliance offers a small amount of +HP, High Pain Tolerance style? (Say 10%, half of HPT's)

Reconstruction gets the same recharge time as Healing Flames? (40 seconds, down from 60. Would help a lot more at early levels where all Regen has is Fast Healing for regen, till Integration at 16)

n% Heal on Instant Healing activation, 120 or 180 second duration? (Making it a bit more instant, then having the Regen take over for the rest. With 3 level 50 SO's, that brings recharge down to 333.5 seconds according to Mids, Hasten brings it to 245.3 seconds. Still downtime for the power, but gives a bit more time to work with it.)

    Manip/Manip AT?

1: Get Fiery Assault/Icy Assault Character
2: Have option to have fire swords/attacks from one hand, ice swords/attacks from the other.
3: Summon Fire Sword and Ice Sword.
    4: Run into crowd.
    5: ???
    6: Profit.
  15. So, with DXP weekend almost at its end, how did you do? Did you accomplish everything you wanted accomplished, did things change, so on and so forth?

I started DXP weekend off with the intention of getting a bunch of characters up to 32, but after getting three there, others just got up a few levels here and there. And one new character was rolled, also.

    Therefore!

    Tainted Child - Elec/Elec Dominator: 24 > 33
    Mister Ephemeral - Ill/Rad Controllers: 27 > 33
    Jan Boa - Thugs/Poison Mastermind: 30 > 32
    Tina P. Caustaf - Demons/Thermal Mastermind: 26 > 29
    Lady Crepusculum - Necro/Dark Mastermind: 27 > 28
    Gail's Force - Mercs/Storm mastermind: 20 > 26
    Operative Glay - Crab Spider: 24 > 26
    Operative Ciel - Fortunata: 1 > 24
    Masugn - Spines/Fire Scrapper: 20 > 22
    Isaiah Creed - DP/Fire Blaster: 19 > 23
    Twilight's Flame - Warshade: 20 > 22
    Maxi Pound - Inv/SS Tanker: 26 > 28
    Project Geist - Arachnos Soldier: 20 > 22

Which means all my current stable of characters aside from placeholders are all above level 22. I deleted my Ninja/TA MM to make way for Ciel, as she's being rerolled as a Ninja/Time MM come i21. Not bad, for myself.

Many thanks go out to the peeps on the Union Roleplayers channel for providing excellent teamage throughout the weekend, and to the usual band of friends for teamage too.

    So, how'd you do?

It runs in the family. Garion's pretty good at it. "Burst!" comes to mind twice. He's got a bugbear against doors it seems.

I hate those filthy neutrals. With enemies you know where they stand but with neutrals, who knows? It sickens me.
  18. Got to say, the new-new Energy and Life Mage look is awesome. I can't wait to pound their heads together.

Great memory for a fantastic book series.
Be right back, raiding my bookshelf...

She made him consider it an artistic challenge, after calling it a 'costume' made him throw the plans away.

That whole thing was the lead up to a crowning moment of awesome for Ce'Nedra.
  20. Lets say I bought a lifetime sub at the time CoH launched in the EU, in February 2005. If it cost say... £200, that's about 22.5 months of playtime.

I'm coming up to being a 78 month vet now. That means that the company would have lost about £484 of sub fees from me (Taking into account some free months from boxes.)

That's about $791 that hasn't gone towards the game.

How good for the game and company is that, huh?
  21. I want 12 more character slots.
I want 5 more Costume slots.
I want Street Justice and Beam Rifles and Time Manipulation.
I want to roll my hero Fire/Fire Brute and experience the new tutorial.
I want my Thule Sorcerer-type Dark/Dark Villainous blaster.
I want to try the new Energy Aura for scrappers.
    I want my Paragon Rewards.
I want to use my Paragon Points on costume and the above things that are for purchase.
I want to see the revamped Atlas Park.
I want to try the new sewer trial for lowbies.
I want to hum the Ghostbusters theme in the First Ward zone.
I want to play signature story arcs with my friends.
I want the game I've played for six and a half years to have more of my money.

    I want Freedom. :<

No, you don't lose it. Everyone gets it, and a better version at that!

I mean from what I see in this thread everyone essentially gets a better version of that reward for free.
    Correct.

    Quote:
Maybe it's me, but what amounts to taking away one of my rewards seems wrong.
You still have it, and the better version of it too that lets you take a power 10 levels earlier than you could before (which was taking it 8 levels earlier)

    Quote:
Hopefully they will replace it with some other reward gimmick.
Well, you'll get a token to use on the Paragon Reward scheme on something other than City Traveller, like new trail auras or so forth.
  23. A vote for David Eddings' Belgariad is a vote for the 'literary equivalent of peddling dope.'
  24. Thank you for the awesome version of my character's advert. Remember folks, if you need to run something somewhere? Give it to Zack.
  25. There are 6 sets with 3 pet summon powers, 2 pet upgrade powers, one miscellaneous power, and 3 attack powers. They are not going to give buff powers instead of attack powers to an AT that has buffs/debuffs as its secondary.
