New MM set idea: Special Ops

When I'm bored I like to daydream new ideas and I have been bored a lot lately (except when on incarnate runs).

This set is focused on Hitech weapons, tactics and teamwork. A big feature of it is the Player's Portable Command Center Backpack.

1st tier pets: A mixture of rifle attacks, stuns and holds, Grenades and bombs.
2nd tier pets: A sniper and a mini shoulder mounted missile launcher.
3rd tier: A tp'in knife dancer/thrower. (female?).

For the player instead of attacks the backpack provides strong buffs and utilities:

1st tier: A warning system that gives all nearby pets some defense against ranged attacks as well as stuns, holds and slows.
2nd tier: Strong leadership auras however only one type can be selected at a time (different modes).
3rd tier: A pet only group recall.

For the special ability I see it as a coordinated ranged aoe attack. There would be some time spent setting up and coordinating the attacks (build up) and all the pets would draw weapons and aim. Then the player would give a signal and all pets would fire together. There would be an appropriate level of damage plus knockdown and stun procs. Of course you can add conditions to it for it to be successful, must be out of combat, fails if any pet or player takes damage, defenses are lowered while everyone is getting ready.

In my head this is already in the game and everyone loves it.

Just a few suggestions. First is more of a rule: Follow the presets. Three attacks. One fast recharge, one long recharge high damage, and one AoE/Special. Second, Mercs have already got rifles covered. Maybe silenced pistols instead?

It's just a proposal for something a bit different than the previous sets. A lot of people don't take attacks (including me sometimes) and I feel that giving out a set that has support powers instead of attacks would be a refreshing change and a popular choice (especially if you get a cool backpack that is not just for show).

There are 6 sets with 3 pet summon powers, 2 pet upgrade powers, one miscellaneous power, and 3 attack powers. They are not going to give buff powers instead of attack powers to an AT that has buffs/debuffs as its secondary.

This. It's not that I think your idea is a bad one, it's just not very likely. That's why I suggested coming up with some attack powers as well. It doesn't have to be anything special or flashy, it just has to get the job done.

I've done enough daydreaming and it's just a bit of fun anyway if the idea doesn't float that's fine.

The problem is someone in theory could take that set, go petless and have a powerset combination that has no damaging attacks. There is no powerset combination in the game where you can't have at least one damaging attack.
