Regarding defense you only count the highest single value, you can't add typed and positional defense.
For general advice here's a link to an old thread which has several people (including me) posting builds for AR/Traps Corruptors and Traps/AR Defenders.

I decided to google my name out of curiosity. Apparently it's a pretty common combination but at least one person with the same first/last name was convicted of attempted murder .

There are two ways to convert characters with Going Rogue:
1. Create them as a Preatorian. They start neutral then at level 20 become either a hero or a villain
2. Run a series of morality missions/arcs to change a characters alignment in the following sequence: Hero -> Vigilante -> Villain -> Rogue -> Hero. Rogues and Vigilantes are the in between alignments. They will have access to both the Rogue Isles and Paragon City (we don't know yet how much access) but will still be considered a member of their previous alignment for most purposes. -
Overall I would say the villain arcs aren't villainous enough (except for Westin). That being said my main villain is an out and out mercenary so that suits me fine. As long as he gets paid he doesn't care to much about the job itself but at the same time keeping a low profile decreases the risk of heroes knocking down his door in the middle of the night.

What? I wasn't doing anything.
Welcome to the forums -
My attitude on this is the same as when the RealID thing was originally announced: it strikes me as a very bad idea.
Cyberstalking is already an issue on the internet and this sort of thing potentially makes it much more dangerous. Add in the fact that the collective maturity of the internet is somewhere around that of a 13 year old guy with a serious hormone overdose and it makes it worse. A lot of females on the internet choose to hide that fact (especially in online communities related to gaming) simply because of the number of people who can't act rationally around girlz and forcing them to (effectively) reveal their gender is only going to exacerbate the problem. -
Quote:I used a power analyzer on one once and it had a bonus of 100% to hit.Note that even with Elude I was getting hit quite a lot when fighting even-con Rularuu. Far and away more often then I do vs a +2 boss when my def is 30%. I think their to-hit is far higher then you believe. Hence why I don't like going to the Shadow Shard on Madam Enigma. I don't like feeling that my entire defense set is useless.

based on what the devs said any inf you've placed as bids SHOULD remain in the slot until you claim it. That being said I'd suggest withdrawing it and mailing it to an alt just in case.

Quote:*shrug* you said "awesome" DPS and that they get "quite literally get a Blaster set for a primary and a Defender set for a secondary". Now to me "awesome" implies somewhere near the top which corruptors are not. And while their sets are not literally the same as either defenders or blasters since the numbers are different. If you'd said "corruptors get better DPS than defenders with only slightly worse buffs" I'd have been right with you but your post seemed to imply that corruptors combined blaster level damage with defender buffs.Never said they didn't. I just said that if you're looking for a more damage-centric Defender, there is literally an inverse Defender in-game.
EDIT: And if it's any consolation on the rep side of things someone neg-repped my first response to you because apparently math is "gross" -
Very nice team for an STF. But yeah the tree is in my experience the most likely place to fail an Mo Run. You can't taunt the tree and unless oyu've got a couple of tanks/scrappers/khelds who can clear the front side vines on their own quickly enough there is a good chance of losing a squishy.
PS. Was it on Virtue? If so I bet I know who the tank was .
EDIT: On the subject of support heavy teams rocking. I was on an all defender ITF a few days ago. It was amazingly easy although the almost unplayable lag in the last two missions made it a lot less fun. We actually managed to hit the hard cap (175%) for defense due to having three trappers, a force fielder and a cold domination. -
Quote:It was also completely incorrect hence my response explaining why it was incorrect.I find it amusing that of all the crap I've said on these forums, this completely inoffensive, almost literally completely objective remark is the comment that attracts a bunch of neg-rep and abuse.
To reiterate:
Blaster Ranged damage scale: 1.125
Defender Ranged Damage Scale: 0.65
Corruptor Ranged Damage Scale: 0.75
In terms of damage Corruptors are a LOT closer to Defenders than they are Blasters. Yes, they get their blasts earlier which does help a bit when leveling and yes Scourge does provide a damage bonus (estimated at around 20% when solo) but at the end of the day Blasters still have a significant damage advantage over them. -
Quote:As Pork said this one is a complete discussion thread in it's own right. From a personal point of view I would love this, I tend to take a travel power on most of my toons because I find ninja run to slow (even with the fitness pool) and on several characters I could spare some slots for Ninja Run if it gave me a free power choice. Assuming that it starts with zero slots I don't think it would be unbalanced.3. Allow slotting of ninja run, HOWEVER, keep it so that while ninja run is on, no other travel power can be used, AND, set it so that ninja run CANNOT be slotted EXCEPT at levels 31+, with a maximum of 6 slots. This would allow more creativity in builds by removing the need for other travel powers completely, but ensure that ONLY high level characters would be able to take advantage, which would remove the danger of having super jumping, super speeding, near invisible characters at low level. LASTLY, DOUBLE the endurance drain of ninja run.
However, I think making it slottable would set a bad precedent for the game. The powers in the super boosters are all conveniences but don't really change the power level of characters. Even Ninja Run, which can substitute for a travel power if you want it to, isn't significantly faster than the jump pack temporary powers that are freely available. Allowing Ninja Run to be slottable would give a much larger bonus to those who have purchased the pack than those who haven't. -
The main thing I can see is that agaisnt an AV it will basically double the amount of -recharge you can apply from 12% to 25% which increases his recharge tmes from 114% of base to 134%.

Quote:Check out the server forums down below for active SGs. Virtue and Freedom are the most active SGs and I know virtue has regular Hami raids a couple of times a week.Is there a SG on Victory (or, I'd consider paying for a transfer) that is regularly active, large size, and welcomes new members? Raid content would be wonderful. Building a SG from scratch seems unlikely though because I can wander one side of the world to the other and see two to three players.

Alpha pretty much hit it on the head. TA has several patch based debuffs and unless you have a convenient wall you are risking knocking enemies out of them with the kb. In the case of glue arrow this doesn't really matter since the debuff lingers after leaving the patch but for oil slick and disruption arrows it does make them less effective.
One solution is to take hover and fly above so that you deal knockdown instead of knockback. -
I agree with Kobolt. Since it is teid to a villain accolade there really needs to be a method for Preatorians who end up as villains to get the accolade without needing to rely on finding people in the right range (especially since the number of people in the right range will probably decrease due to them also leveling up new characters as preatorians).

It's not possible to add critical damage but it could be turned into a build up clone which would work (Power Build Up is essentially a combination of Power Boost and Build Up).
I'd like a weapons/gadgets mastery set for Defenders as well but I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of your version, the powers are all ok, it's just not how I'd build the set
My suggestion would be along the lines of:
Cryo Freeze Ray
Crane Kick
Body Armor
Wide Area Web Grenade
Gun Drone
Admittedly like Munitions Mastery this is an Assault Rifle based set with two powers that are fired from a gun although from a practical point of view renaming if you renamed Cryo Freeze Ray to Cryo Grenade you could give both it and WAWG a variation of the Web Grenade throwing animation and get the same basic effect without the assault rifle.
Defender Epics seem to mostly focus on Control and Damage with a few self buffs so I think this would offer a nice combination of powers compared to other epics. The one power I'm not really happy with is Crane Kick. I think it works with the set since like Thunderstrike in Electrical Mastery it provides a way for Defenders to get an enemy out of his face while dealing a bit of damage and it sorta fits thematically but it feels out of place. -
Yeah Virtue was pretty bad last night. I was on an ITF and the lag made it almost unplayable for the last two missions (and that was even with us avoiding the really high lag areas of those maps).
-
The other thing to keep in mind is that Maneuvers has a much higher endurance cost than Combat Jumping. Assuming you can manage that I'd lean towards Maneuvers just because it benefits your team as well as you.
-
-
It depends a bit on your team composition. Benumbing the healer decreases the damage you have to deal, benumbing the damager decreases the damage you take. I'd tend to lean towards using it on the healer but YMMV.
-
Just to clarify one thing, getting a temporary power drop doesn't deny you a decent drop. Temporary power drops and other recipe drops are rolled independently so you can potentially get one of each from the same kill.
-
And Defenders literally get a Blaster set for a secondary. Corruptors only do about 15% more damage than Defenders (neglecting Scourge). Now Scourge does make a difference it's estimated to increase their damage by about 20% solo but that value drops off somewhat on teams. In any case though Corruptors DPS isn't significantly higher than Defenders, it is higher but it's still quite a bit lower than Blaster damage.

In the settings thing there is an option to lock powers in trays, that solves the problem for me (I activate almost all powers with the mouse as well).
