Going Rogue question - new char or covert?

I haven't played since 2005 and just signed up again and ready to go. Do you create a new character in "limbo" or do you convert him to this "limbo" state between hero and villain? I'm leveling a new toon now so i dont wanna get too high only to repeat leveling again in this new state?

There are two ways to convert characters with Going Rogue:

1. Create them as a Preatorian. They start neutral then at level 20 become either a hero or a villain

2. Run a series of morality missions/arcs to change a characters alignment in the following sequence: Hero -> Vigilante -> Villain -> Rogue -> Hero. Rogues and Vigilantes are the in between alignments. They will have access to both the Rogue Isles and Paragon City (we don't know yet how much access) but will still be considered a member of their previous alignment for most purposes.

Going Rogue is a month out. Start a character now, and when it comes make their own Praetorian double. =)

As stated the new zone is primarily for levels 1-20 and will work great for new characters. However, existing characters can go through story arcs to shift. Last I heard the goal was 1-2 weeks per step and there are 4 steps total from hero to villain.

I'm making an elec/elec Dominator as a Preatorian to try new things out.

There're two steps from hero to villain. And two steps back. That last part might be the misunderstanding that led people to believe it is a four step process. Because it's a cyclical process: villain -> rogue -> hero -> vigilante --> villain -> ...

So two to four weeks then.
