BABs took yellow out of the color options for ice blast, I am sure they will do the same for water blast.

Quote:I would get them drunk before asking any way, that way I would get the truth! It's a long weekend. I'm sure that stuff will be asked, but they don't need to get grilled at the keynote.
I am not sure those questions will get asked or answered. Not everyone feels they are as important as I do. :/ -
Wish I was there so I could ask some hard questions.
Why didn't we get ALL of the CoT costume items?
Are we going to get access to the Black Knight Armor items?
Things like that. -
We should clean up PP and put it there. Which gives the devs a good reason to revamp PP in the way I suggested.

WOOT! I am looking forward to another 8 years. This game has been with me through so much. This game and community has helped me get through a lot of rough patches in my life. I am glad that I loved superheroes so much that I was willing to pay $15 a month to become one.
I had friends trying to get me to play EQ and DAOC for months before CoX came out, and I gave the same answer every time. I will never pay to play a video game online. Wow, I was so wrong. These days I not only pay the monthly, but drop $30 for points every 2 weeks.
I really love this game. I have also enjoyed this community, I guess I should thank Statesman for that. I never would have become an active member if he had not nerfed Regen. Only good thing that came from that nerf was it made me start posting, well that was a good thing to me. -
Rather fair question. I would guess though it is because Alpha acts as an extra slotted enhancement. Where as, things like LoTG, and Hasten do not.
-
The CoT Kilt finished Surge Warrior for me. Before I was just using tucked in pants from the Samurai Vet rewards.

Quote:Really?"On July 15th, 2003, I started working at Paragon Studios."
Really? At Paragon Studios back in 2003? I thought the game started at Cryptic...
Also: "(For those interested, this server was Triumph, the last server added until Exalted)"
What of the four EU servers added in 2005? Did Triumph not come until after those?
Ok then. It was a nice trip down memory lane. I got a 2 week late start in CoX because of Paramedic school. I didn't realize it had been released even though I had followed the development of it for quite some time.
Since then it has been a big part of my life. I have friends in CoX that I have shared important events in my life with. Yeah, I can honestly say that I love this game, and have enjoyed the ride. -
Parez Park. I would like to see phasing tech used there. After we run the Clean up the park mission I want the zone to become a park with families, kids playing with pets, and people throwing Frisbee.
Some plays or bands at the amphitheater, people fishing in the lake, the whole nine yards of a safe zone.
I want PP to represent an area where we have actually made a difference as heroes.
Let the Kraken still spawn there once in a while to scare the public, but for the most part keep it clean, after we have cleaned it up.
You can tie it to the Kill Skulls badge. If you have killed 500 skulls then PP is a clean zone when you go in it. Basically have 2 instances of PP, one that is he current suck, and one that is a nice clean park.
If you really feel the need you can have some muggings in those crazy back paths, and still have mission doors there. For the most part though have a family friendly environment where heroes can go, hold their head up high and say "I made this place safe." -
Quote:Not going to argue that. No, but I don't think having the most consistent and regular performance of any of the melee ATs is a bad thing either
Really, I think all scrappers should be immune to fear. Because it is obvious those who prefer scrappers to all other ATs are. hehehe I am a scrapper, no matter what toon I am playing, I am a scrapper. It is what is in my heart and soul.
I remember the first time I soloed a Pylon. I was running past it with my DB/WP scrapper and thought to myself (I wonder if I can do that) So I did, and I posted it on the boards. I think I may have been to first to do so also. Right after that Werner (I am pretty sure) did it and timed it, and it became a thing.
The RWZ challenge. That was ours (scrappers), then when it was too easy we put rules on it. Must be x amount of bosses, Can't use inspirations.
I tanked hammi for a raid once back before the Regen nerf. There was no doubt in my mind that I could do it. I was after all a scrapper.
Fear is never a part of any decision a scrapper makes. So yeah, we should just be immune to is.
For the record: This post was mostly a joke about being immune to fear, the other stuff I named is true though. My first pylon time was abysmal by the way, something like 12-15 min. My KM/Elec can do it in under 2, right at 1 min if I use lore.
I love my scrappers above all other ATs. I am sorry if that offends any one....not really. If you don't like my scrapper lover you can bite my ***, or try any way. Scrappers do not take kindly to sch things.
In case you can't tell I took my cancer pain meds. -
My KM/Elec Armor scrapper has done some crazy stuff. The end drain in Power Sink is as good as any controller's I have seen, and LF pretty much keeps it bottomed out on all but AVs.
I was told that he was not survivable because of his lack of def by a guy I was teamed with once. I thought it was pretty funny that I was still fighting while he was eating dirt. -

Quote:Yeah I hate shield too. It is pretty spiffy looking with Street Justice though if you want the Captain America look. I played one all through beta, and have one on live. However it suffered fro that "Too much of a good thing." problem. So, he never gets played now.<--- Doesn't play Shield Defense. Thinks it looks a little too dorky with non-weapon sets, and doesn't like any of the weapon sets that can use it enough to... use it.
Guys, I am not trying to end the debate and do not want to be accused of it again. I do have a Staff/EA scrapper at lvl 50 now. Only +1 level shift, I do have t2 reactive interface, and t1 ion judgement, and t2 Clarion Radial. Radiation treatment and the HVAC guy came and stopped me from finishing it up.
I can tell you this with all honesty. Red Shepherd is a beast. He plows through minions and LTs like an Adamantium weed eater, with a Vorpal enchantment.
Numbers are great and all, but pylon numbers are not going to demonstrate what the set is going to do against a group, or what the set is going to do in the hands of a skilled player or builder.
Reppu, you are one of my global friends, and we share the same server. You are welcome to come play with me at any time to see what I can do with my Staff/EA scrapper character. I for some unknown reason like you, I think it is because you remind me of my sister, and oldest daughter. I have always liked blunt women. Happily married, so that was not a come on or pick up line.
I for the record do not think staff needs a buff. I do think scrappers should have a unique mechanic that makes them a special flower again. and I do not think I deserve a kick in the nads for thinking that. -
Quote:To me +rech is the same as +damage. If I can attack more, then I am doing more damage. There has been this debate between strength and speed since I started gaming. IF I attack more often I end up doing as much damage as the brick that hit really hard but only goes 3 out of 10 phases. My attacks may do half as much damage, but I am attacking 9 out of those 10 phases.SR doesn't even likely have much for the ENDMOD to help with other than Stamina.
More Defense on a Scrapper only achieves like 2-3% if I recall (maybe as much as 4%).
But +RCH is always good, but if you have enough...YEAH! +DMG! \o/
See the dilemma? I have always gone the speed route. Which also explain why I like Staff so much more that TW. Also why I am a +recharge ho. -
Quote:Regen's QR, WP's QR, Superior Conditioning, and Superior Conditioning should have solved any end problems Brutes ever saw. This is a pet peeve of mine by the way, because Scrappers should have gotten Superior Conditioning. My beef with Staff was the timing of the release, should have been with the stalker revamp since stalkers can use that set.
Perfection of soul + brute = win. Admittedly I'm still leveling that brute but I've always hated the blue chugging necessary for chasing fury and the forms have solved that issue so far. -
Quote:Yeah, I think Agility was custom made for /EA or /Ela going for softcap. Witn Invul I would go cardiac I had a lot of trouble with end management with my StJ/InvulHmmm.
More def? No thx, already capped.
More recharge? Nah, plenty of.
More endurance? Could use a bit more, but I am perfectly manageable right now.
More dmg? Hell yeah. Musculature all the way.
For SR, hard choice between Muscular and Spiritual. Having testes on beta, I don't think Musculature would be my choice. Not knowing that I will be taking assault. -
Quote:Here is the problem with average. IOs and IO sets blew it out of the water. Because I have near unlimited resources I can make builds that surpass what less fortunate people can make. With my inf and merits, and well shear time in the game, I can take claws and make it better than TW. (yes that was a exaggeration)I would, too. It would be the reason why I nuked my TW for my SF. I think Staff is perfectly 'fine' as is. It's very 'average'.
Could it use buffs? Not before Blast sets.
There are always going to be better builds, and better players. Sadly there is no way to average for that, well some l33t math person like Arcanaville may can. No real way to balance for it either and still keep the game fun and exciting.
I feel that is what is really being missed here. Sure if we do all our builds with SOs then some things are going to be better than others. That is not what we are doing though. Your SOed TW, and my IOed Staff build is going to blow it out of the water. Either because of damage, or because you will be dead and I will not be.
I maintain balance is gone, and it will not come back until we all have access to the same stuff. Hey, I am willing to spend more cash and time on the game than others, they are going to have a really hard time catching up with me. Not to mention I have been playing for 7 years, and know most of the tricks of the trade. -
I hate the momentum mechanic. With staff I get to skip 0 and go right to 60. With TW everything seems to take forever.
The was hammered in even deeper during the escape phase of a BAF today. On TW that part of that trial is like having my nails pulled out with pliers while jumper cables are being attached to my.... well any way it sucks.
With staff, even w/o a level shift it was fun. It was fun because it was fast, very fast. Stuff died, because I attacked fast.
To each their own. I will take Staff over TW any day of the week. I do have a lvl 50 of both. -
-
Quote:I will hit 50 tomorrow at some point. Only half a level to go. Once I get my 2 purple sets in I will be done. I am considering Seeing what it can do in DO w/i even the alpha. I will see if you are on when I do.To me, Hybrid is just another fun toy. I don't base what I want in my choosen characetrs on them. For me, it's about what can they do before incarnates (admittedly sometimes I throw in Alpha use) with Incarnate abilities being cool extras!
I might throw in Interface use with that Alpha since both can be used non stop. -
I posted it on the scrapper boards, but figured I would stick it here too. There is only one thing I am iffy on. I am not sure if I am going to take Maneuvers or Assault at 49. The rest I tested for months in the end game of DA, and it was beast. So sticking with it.
Here is his back story (Yes I play on Virtue.
Character name: Red Shepherd
Super Group: The Red Order
Cain killed his brother and God marked him so that none would harm him. Cain went to the land of Nod and took a wife. All of that is common knowledge. However it is not quite true. What God did was give Cain a task, and the skill to perform that task. Cain was different than the people of Nod because he had the breath of God in his breast. The people of Nod had souls, but not souls that were in the image of God. Cain was given a combat art called The Shepherd's Way, all other combat systems pale in comparison to it. Sadly, only those who carry the breath of God, which are the descendents of Cain (or are Nephilim), can use the Way without going mad, most can't even understand it. I am one such descendant. My order of monks, The Red Order is made up of other descendants of Cain, Nephilim, and others chosen by God. Our task is the same as Cain's. We are to protect those who can not, or will not protect themselves. We are Shepherds of men, and I am one such Shepherd.
My staff granted to me when I became a Shepherd is part the Cross Christ was crucified on. Many such artifacts float about the order, and are granted to those who become Shepherds. My powers are a manifestation of my faith, and are intensified by the staff. A further benefit is that Angels of the Host still communicate with us and teach us. This includes sharing their own technology with us. It is common to see Angelic armor, or cybernetics being used by the Shepherds.
