Not to be ha-
No, actually. I'll be blunt.
Cry some moar. That giant maintenance we had on Thursday? Smack bang in the middle of EU prime time, and lasted until after midnight for us over here. That is a bad downtime.
Sympathy: You get none

/Signed. I kinda like the New UI actually (Makes life a lot easier for my empath with huge health bars, heh), but having Classic not BE Classic is...kinda...wtf? XD
-
/Signed for removing the crash
When I get my Fire/Fire/Fire blaster to 50 (a ways off yet) why would I bother keeping Inferno when I can use Pyronic V.Rare combined with Musculature V.Rare? Sure, it might not throw out nearly 2k worth of damage, but;
1) No End Crash
2) No PbAoE, so less likely to die
3) Way faster timer
4) Still excellent damage
Really, Nukes and Snipes both are in need of some love right about now. -
The Sergeant moved to cuff the Outsider and Wanderer. To his credit, he didn't 'slap the cuffs on', which tended to chafe and be a little uncomfortable, isntead putting them on quickly, quietly and professionally.
It did also mean he was caught in the same pit-trap as them and the Detective.
"Damnit! Take them down!" he shouted up "We've got a mage in there! Dispatch, suspects are making a getaway! Captain, we could use that support, asap!"
"Not to worry, Sergeant. We have some heavy hitters en route, over."
Up above, the jumpier officers opened fire, the others quickly following suit, although they were doing little more than shooting at a wall by now. -
She has ribs around her neck. It's wierd Oo and yeah, her face looks off from the front for some reason.
-
"Aww, hell," the Sergeant growled, thumbing his radio, "Captain, the suspects are moving to evade detainment!"
"Then arrest them! All units in the area, get in there and stop them! Pronto! Backup is standing by, over!"
"Right," the Sergeant acknolwedged, nodding to the men around him. Despite a few worried and borderline scared expressions, they all raised their weapons and sidearms. "You lot!" he roared at those of the group still out in the open, "Hold it right there!"
"Yeah, this is looking bad," Silver muttered, backing up fast to bring himself level with Mirel. "We are outta here!" The Autobots engine roared, slamming straight up to top gear as soon as Mirel and any others that there were room for were aboard. -
Yeah, some of the NPC designs (mostly the old ones) are starting to look really lax in the face of the Praetorian NPCs and all their shinies.
I'm hoping that David's Art threads eventually bear fruit and we get to see mobs get an overhaul. But, eh, we'll see. -
While I still hate Lambdas boss-clogged guts, BAF is quite fun now. While we sometimes struggle with one stage or other (prisoners if people let the LTs run, Finale if Siege's 9CUs get outta hand) it's also one that I've seen completed a good few times, the only losses being due to mis-timing a kill, and because the Prisoners spawn points bugged out and they came out the back of buildings.
So, BAF>Lambdurr

The Sergeant glowered slightly. Even given the situation, he wasn't used to taking backtalk from a Detective.
"I'll take that under consideration, Mulligan," he said curtly, motioning a few squadies forward with handcuffs, "But you don't see the Statesman or anyone turning folks to pulp just because they can. That's why theres laws."
Silver, being in vehicle mode, obviously had no face on which to hang an expression. But his voices tone did a good job of conveying 'raised eyebrow'.
"Well...up to you guys. What d'ya reckon?" -
A squad sergeant moved up, handgun lowered but still clearly ready.
"You even listening to your radio, Mulligan?" he muttered, tapping his own strapped to his flak vest.
"This is Captain Belle, to all units in Kings Row. I repeat, those at the killing scene are to be considered armed and dangerous. They are to be detained, asap," came the message again, over the radio.
"And, frankly, I ain't arguing," the sergeant added, nodding to the others, some of whom had lowered their guns and who now raised them again. "You lot, stay right where you are. I'd advise you don't make any more trouble. I really don't want to have to call SWAT and armour units in here."
From his expression, it was clear he was telling the truth, on multiple fronts. Mostly because the cops here would be no match for the group, but for most that wasn't going to stop them doing their duty.
SWAT and armour, on the other hand, could cause some damage. And some serious mess if the fight, should it come to that, got out of hand. -
Quote:Better example;Have you ever done a mission and were beating up on mobs (Getting xp/etc) and then failed the mission (due to whatever reason, timed, actually failing it, etc...)?
You still kept the xp that you got from the mobs right? Or does your character give the xp back when you fail somehow?
You run an ITF. Even if you fail, you keep the exp and the drops, same as here.
But if you fail you don't get the merit reward.
Here, not only do you get the merit reward even for failing (IXP and components) but you are expected to fail multiple times, like it's a good thing.
Thats the disconnect. -
Quote:So far I've seen none of that. Plenty of 'What the hell kind of cheat are the Praetorians using?', such as ludicrously high accuracy and auto-hit, long range bombardments, but that's because nobody likes being utterly neutered without any decent excuse other than 'But it's a challenge!'The game is still here.
Therefore: The people who predicted that Issue X or Feature Y would be the death of the game in the past have been completely wrong. And that simple fact is not stopping anyone from crying doom now.
So far, it has just been "I hate this new thing". But that's how all the "This will kill the game" doomcrying started before too.
I suppose there is a slight possibility that they may be proven right this time, but the chance is pretty minute.
I give it about a week before the first "This is killing the game" thread appears, maybe (probably) less than that.
'I hate X!'=!'Dooooooom!' -
Quote:Yes. Traps. Which requires being fairly close to direct combat. Which, without pets? On an MM? Good luck with that, bucko!the new trials hurt everyone..if one thing dont work try something else...you have secondaries for a reason you know
I'll give some examples because people clearly aren't getting what I mean by 'Getting shot for no good reason while trying to re-summon.'
Everytime a FF Fender puts a shield up, he gets auto-hit.
Everytime an Empath Fender heals someone, they get auto-hit.
Everytime a Blaster uses Build Up/Aim, they get get auto-hit.
Imagine how annoying that would be. That's pretty much how it feels being an MM trying to re-summon safely in Lambda. I.E. you aren't allowed to, for no good reason. -
Grats to the winners, and I personally would love to see the PPD advert in game as well. VERY nicely pulled off, and looks like it would fit perfectly.
All good stuff

Atlas Park, PPD Precint
The Captain leaned back in his chair, watching the feed for the events in Kings Row.
Technically, it wasn't his beat, but...
The silver robot, shifting into a car.
The symbol on the side.
He grinned, before tapping the button on his Police Scanner.
"This is Captain Ron Belle to all units at the Kings Row killing scene. Be advised, subjects are extremely dangerous, I repeat, extremely dangerous. Advise taking them all into max-sec custody, over."
At the scene, a number of cops glanced at their scanners, exchanging glances while a number of them pulled out their sidearms and, in a few cases, heavier weapons from the trunks of the PPD cars. -
Silver flashed Mirel a grin in return, before bringing his legs up and flipping himself upright in one slick motion, his landing causing the ground to shudder slightly as his feet hit the ground again. With a whir and a few clicks his morph-cannon shifted back to hand and a half mode, before being holstered behind one of his thigh plates, the compartment sliding back as to be near invisible.
"Well, anyone who wants a ride, hop in," he offered, machinery giving off the same distinctive sound as he transformed back to vehicle mode, the cars four doors popping open at the same time. -
Quote:I take it you've never taken an MM on a Lambda run then, to experience just how frustrating it is?Learn, adapt and overcome. When the game gives you lemons you make lemonade.
And I'll say it again just to make sure this point hits home: These new Incarnate trials are geared with the future of the game in mind. They are balanced for people who have slotted Incarnate Shifts. It's practically a given that without those shifts these trials are going to be fairly hard at first for EVERYONE, not just MMs.
All I'm suggesting is that you may be crying for a nerf to this trial far too early... -
Quote:Except that is patantly not true. And control powers being gutted during the BAF annoys the heck out of me.
As far as the Lambda, pay attention to the warnings. There is a clear warning before that attack (by the way that attack is from Marauder), so move your pets closer, then move them away when the other attack is announced.
ONLY the LTs are mez immune in the Prisoner stage. All the minions mez just fine, as I found by exploding poison traps in their faces, KB, caltrops, web nades, yada yada.
And the Boss mobs hold just fine too. It's ONLY Siege and Nightstar that can't be held, and that's true of nearly every other AV in game (nearly).
I'm also not talking about Marauder. I barely even get near Marauder. MY gripe is the auto-hit artillery that starts landing on you when you get 'too far' from him during the final stage. 'Too far' being a bloody necessity for MMs who's pets just got obliterated for the umpteenth time by the AoE spamming horde of Heavy Commanders and Warwalkers. -

All the redside ones have been better so far. Yet to check blueside.

Quote:Would you like a match or a flamethrower for that army of strawmen you've got there? You should know this by now Geko.
Different = bad for a lot of people.
Whether the old stuff is still there or not is completely irrelevant to those who have decided that the Incarnate Trials are ruining the game.
It's like every other thing that has prompted DOOOOOM posts in the past, the new thing they don't like is killing the game and nothing will convince them otherwise. Not even the fact that 100% of the gamekilling doomposts of the past have been proven wrong.
Edit: Agreeing with Carni though, what is this if not farming/grinding? When did that stance change? -
Quote:ChequeThe game isn't what the OP is used to playing.
You can send me the check later.
Also, really, if they WERE made TF like, in that you got nothing for failing, there'd be the biggest rage storm ever. Especially given how bloody hard the things are, and that you effectively need the rewards to have a hope in hell of doing them with- ok, doing Lambda at all. BAF is ok, completed that a few times already, and one run was cheated by 1% of health, the other two failed because prisoners suddenly started popping out the back of a building
But yeah, shock horror for once in that I'm agreeing with Geko and Claws on the matter of the Raids; What was your point again?
