Guess I'll have to swim over to America, creep into Statesman's bedroom and when he comes in tie him to a chair and write a request for non PVP Hero/Villain Zones in permament black marker on his forehead in mirror writing.

Then again, I wonder why I bother. Same with this thread and the bases one, people always seem to go "lol not for roleplay!".

For instance, in my characters:
Zortel is Zorielle Rolando, buisness woman, scientist and mother. She own ZorTel Industries along with her life partner, Tessa Rolando. Zorielle doesn't keep her identity a secret, because in her own words "If you keep something a secret, someone's bound to try and find it out."
She turns up at the statue either in costume or out, prefering to be called Zortel in costume and out of costume Mrs. Rolando, Zorielle, Zori (To close friends) or Mom, in the case of her daughter.

1. A group of people standing around talking and fighting amongst themselves, ignoring other people. Pretty good sign. Then again, they may not be roleplayers, but that's still no reason to jump in among them and beat the living tar out of them.

2. I suppose you could announce over broadcast that you're roleplaying in a certain area and would like to be left alone. Then again someone is bound to decide to head their to not leave you alone.

How so? In PVP you can decide not to attack a group. On a railway track the train has a pretty hard time slowing down to stop.

Exactly the bloody point, there is no other place to do it which isn't a PVP zone. If you don't have CoV, you can't use the base coalition option either to interact.

True, attacking people in a PVP zone doesn't make you a bad player. Attacking people who are minding their own business trying to do something they enjoy in a risky area because the game doesn't allow it any other way makes you a pretty bad person though.

And even if your character has such physical characteristics, there are others at GG who do. Demonic looking monsters, mutants with odd skin colours, giant lobster in a hat, beastmen.

Wouldn't the DoT from Death Shroud/Quills make the feared enemies still attack though? When I was thinking about this build, I thought of using Oppressive Gloom instead, hoping that the Slow part of Spine Burst and other spine attacks would stop them wandering out of the field, or coupling it with Dark Mastery's Teneberous Tentacles.

Well, if I come with my normal look and get changed later, look out for the girl who looks a bit like Zorielle, probably wearinh a long skirt and studded collar.

Any suggestions you could do to make it less 'dull' for some people? The problem I see, and with RP in missions too, is the lack of a DM client to handle events.

I've 'DM'ed' several missions now, and I can honestly say it's an uphill struggle. Could try and do it with the in-game fare of missions, but to be honest I find it a bit pointless. Nothing ever changes. The Justifier is still in need of rescue how many times you do it, Clockwork roam the streets even if you arrest the King, you can't stop a shop, bank or home being robbed, or stop people loading stolen goods onto the ships. Just my oppinon and view on the matter. I can't do anything to affect the world as a whole, especially in a way such as an open RP enviroment, so I do the only thing I can and affect my characters lives instead. Some may find it dull, some may not. The way GG works at the moment means you don't have to read through a backlog of history to interact. There are advantages and disadvantages to that, but in a game lacking RP'er friendly features, I, for sure, make do and improvise what I can.

Was all the OOC chatter in ((brackets)) or not? Because if it wasn't, then it probably was in character. Your comment about "exchange trivialities and banalities about real life" makes me ask this. My characters talk about -their- real life. One of my characters takes her pregnant partner to antenatal classes, and discusses parenting with other people at the statue with children. One of them talks about how his cafe is doing, another talks about her work, socialising and the latest computer games and comics she's played.

Hate to butt in, but I have a query about Ice/Storm, and seeing as there's this thread...

I was wondering about the potential of using Glacier or Frostbite to achive Containment status, and then using Freezing Rain and Ice Storm on a group of villains. My theory is that the resist debuff, plus double damage from containment, will be quite carnage-y. Suggestions?

Transfusion (Heal) Drains end from your foe to heal in a radius and debuffs regen.
Siphon Power debuffs damage to... 25% I think, and boosts your own.
Siphon Speed debuffs movement and rechage speed.
Not sure if Transference debuffs end recovery though.

Hmm... I'm not too sure if they have an inherent resistance to Confuse... I think that one of the buffs that go off when an LT dies gives them Confuse Resistance.

Most of the dialouge was written the night before the comic, we stayed up till 3am getting it done, hence errors. And the formating was my job, if I had more time to play with effects I'd have done it differently. The comic was done in two days. The school interior was great fun to do though, Ellie used a method of having a set camera angle, and then we just used two people using students to fill the classroom, and merged the images together. I'll have to ask her how she did that.

And I did most of the dialouge and text balloons in Microsoft Paint. :< Wish I had photoshop on this PC.
