No, they don't. However, they can be bid upon, due to a bug in the system. Some people use them to store Influence/Infamy, as they can place a 2 Billion Inf bid, and know that they'll never buy the thing. That is why you can see them showing up.

Quote:Because game balance involves both the primary and secondary of an AT.Defender level?
Why would changes to the Secondary have that much of an affect on the Primary, just out of curiousity?
Blasters still have a higher damage scale. Something I realised when playing my AR/Ice after playing my AR/Pain corr for a long time. GODS the damage gap is HUGE, scarily so...
Adding survivability to the "high-damage" AT means that they would have to lower the damage to compensate.
It would be like saying that you wouldn't need to adjust Tanker survivability levels if you increased their damage to Scrapper levels. If you did that, almost nobody would play Scrappers, since Tankers would do more damage, and have better survivability. Changes to the secondary can indeed impact the primary. -
If you want 'pets' with you, make an MA arc or three that includes a lot of pet-class allies that you can put in there, and then you can run around with a full team and get what you want.
As for the real game? No thanks. It's an MMO. Any reason to stop making it worth your while to find other people to play with is a bad idea, IMO. -
Quote:Alternate spellings of in-game characters are fine.Hmm, I'm not sure if I'm in violation of the naming policy. After seeing how cool the Valkyrie costume from the Mac SE is, I picked it up. I just made a BS/SD scrapper with the costume. Sadly, I only now remembered that there is a CoH character named Valkyrie, and I named my character Walkure (the German name from Wagner's opera). Would that put me in violation of the naming policy? I thought about sending an ingame petition to ask, but I thought I would try here, first (to waste your time instead of a GM's, hehe).
Edit -> To a point. As long as you're not pretending to be a Dev, you're fine, though. Going to a different language is definitely fine. -
Quote:1) These DEvs have only this game that they are working on. NCSoft has multiple games, but they aren't sacrificing this one to work on others. In fact, they have put MORE money into this game that Cryptic did. So again, why do you think this is even close to true?*Do I think they are? Why not? they have other games they working with....losing a MMO with a few hundred thousand,IF THAT,won't hurt them that bad. They'll get their checks from the other games.
*Tankers have the 1 ranged attack per set, if that...Not a fan of Tankers, don't even play them, but really? And it seems that MM's get the short end of the stck...again...Thermal? What's next? Kinectics? Last I saw Empathy was in demand there...and the fire-demon set? Still waiting...
*Last time i played a Dev choice, decked out on high difficulty, still couldnt break 100 tickets, nor did I get any drops, no end rewards....therefore...No rewards...
*Not just MA badges...ALL badges. Capo Bosses? down by half...Eminators? Half...presents? Half....on and on and on
*Haven't checked our credit card balance? $16.23 vs $10.41...
*I have faith in the problems CoR will face....
*Don't care about PvP? By all means bro, I totally support you there. We all have our opinions. Alot of other's do tho.
2) Tankers are Melee classes. They are not meant to have a lot of ranged attacks. Otherwise, they'd be Tank-mages, and would likely be imbalancing. Why play a Blaster if you can have a lot of Ranged attacks, and more survivability? Game balance does tend to take precedence over player suggestions from a few people. Also, if you want to have a Tanker with a very few ranged attacks, get them up to higher levels, and you can.
3) The Demon set is coming with GR. They got Pain domination, and Thermal. MMs are still one of the more popular ATs villain-side. So I'd say that they're not getting the short end of the stick. Giving them Kinetics is likely not going to happen, considering how multiplicative it would be for them. Empathy, we were told by the devs, was highly unlikely to go to villains, for thematic reasons.
4) Did you think that maybe, just maybe, you were just on the receiving end of the Random Number Generator's equation? Bad luck can happen.
5) Yeah, these were brought down by player request. So please shut up about the devs not listening to us. People were having to farm to get these badges, and they didn't want to have to do that. Some of them were just unreasonably high levels, and could be brought down to a level that still takes work, but isn't ridiculous.
6) Move out of a State that taxes the game? It's $15. It's not going to break your bank. It's cheaper, per hour, than almost any other form of entertainment. If you play the game for 2 hours, it's $7.5 per hour, which is less than a movie, less than most books, and less than cable. So it's pretty economical as it is. -
Quote:First off, when you are trying to communicate in a written format, yes, it does help to make sure that you are understandable. In general, large paragraphs without breaks make it tough to read them. And proper punctuation can help the reader, who is the person that you're trying to reach."Witchhunt?" Hahahaha! funny stuff. Well, excuse 'ems if my sentence structure" and grammar's crappy, just never thought i'd have to proofread what i say, but putting this in "SUGGESTIONS", i had this alterior motive:
Devs...LISTEN to the PEOPLE. I mean they've been saying the same crap for years, and while i hate to agree with some of it, they are original ideas. Ya'll be saying ya wanted new suggestions, being in a Suggestion place? OOkies, here goes...
1.)Up the badge-counts BACK to where they were in the 1st place.
2.)You gave us colors for powers and such,EXACTLY like Champions Online. Why not coloring the pets for Doms,Trollers, and MM's?
3.)Instead of nerfing powersets in PvP, why not put them back? Slows,Immobs,Heals should work, after all, they do in PvE instances.
4.)Lower the price back to a "normal" state. You charged people double for both gaems, minus a small discout. Now that the 2 are one, why not get competitive with all the other MMO'S financial wise?
That being said:
1) Except, many of them were waaaaayyyyy to hard to get without farming. The Devs 'nerfed' them down to a more manageable level, AT THE REQUEST of many players. Especially with the desire to not make players farm the AE, it was a reasonable change.
2) Doms and Controllers can color their pets, so thanks for checking in on that before you asked for it. MMs are tougher, though, and if you'll look around the forums, you'll probably find out why. Might we get this ability? Yes. Was it harder to do than the other powers, which is why it didn't come in round one? (Also note: Kheldian and VEAT powers, Power Pools, and Ancillary Pools) Yes.
3) Because it didn't really work before, either. Granted, their solution may not have been the best implementation, but you can't say that PvP before the changes was great, either.
4) It's still only $15 a month. Less, if you buy in larger chunks of time. I believe that IS about the same as most other MMOs. Please, show us cheaper ones, that don't charge for every issue, or make you buy expansions just to keep playing the game. -
Quote:No, it wasn't a solid rant, because it had no basis in any logic whatsoever.Oh yeah, it's a rant. Is it a solid rant? I believe so. But hey, let's all make sure that we point out the "rebels" flaws and make sure we bury our heads in the sand so no one can get in trouble. I mean after all we don't want to rock the boat, after all, we might even get kicked! **shudder** So Skat's I'm with you on this one. Wrong place to post yeah, right words to say. Maybe putting this in the wrong spot will wake up folks. Or in this case, make other's go "WITCHHUNT!" and point out the flaws in the placement of it.
The Devs didn't make Tanks with Blasts, even though some players asked for it? Fantastic! Let's not unbalance the game, just because somebody wants something, okay?
The Devs nerfed the MA, even though they had asked the players not to exploit it, and the players did anyways? Yeah, they were going to do that, because otherwise there was no reason to play any other part of the game. The MA now might have lower rewards than it should for some tougher, player-created mobs, but stock enemies still give just as much XP as they do in the real game.
The Devs hitting the poor? How, exactly, are they doing this? By offering up some add-on packs, that aren't at all necessary to play the game in any way or fashion? No, that's not going after the poor. That's offering things for players. It doesn't hurt the poor to offer those packs.
Then he complains about the upcoming expansion pack, before he seems to even know anything about it, and forgets the fact that games have been adding expansion packs for decades now, and it's not a bad idea. Can't afford it? Don't get it. Simple as that. Doesn't seem too hard to me.
Then he seems to go on a rant about how heals and immobilizes aren't effective. Except, they are. Just because you need to use some strategy doesn't make something not effective. I've never found anyone in the game who didn't think that heals were useful.
So, no, this wasn't a good rant. It wasn't even a bad rant. It was a terrible rant, that had no basis in fact whatsoever. -

So, um, ditto?

Except on the Carnies. They can be very very mean. =@_@= Or they were last time I fought them back in '08. >.> ... <.<
Welcome back, Tundy! -
Wait, the Crystallized badge doesn't give the hat, it gives the boots. The hat is a separate purchase, and doesn't come with a badge.
Edit -> For the list of items, try here:

Make sure that you "Tops" option will let you have the gloves. Check the other types out, and see if they are available then. I do not believe that the gloves are usable with every Tops option.
Not sure what the hat is called, but it should be in there. -
The labels in the costume editor are different from the labels in the rewards section. I believe that they are called "Santa Gloves" and "Santa Boots" in the costume editor, instead of "Fuzzy".
-
That looks like a pretty solid build to me. Well done! And welcome back!

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree that this sounds horrible.
You've got whole missions where you're basically making it so that whole ATs won't want to play through them.
Mission 4 and 6 means that no Mastermind will ever want to play it, and probably most Controllers, too.
Mission 5 is just going to get Melee characters killed, so you've lost them, too.
Mission 2 is going to be tough to impossible for team-oriented characters to do. So you've lost a lot of Defenders, probably.
Mission 6 means that you're going to have next to no debuffs, or any AoEs being used, making this mission just tedious, not challenging.
Then you've got the fail mission that is Mission 1. No inherents? For some ATs, that's not a problem. However, many ATs don't have an actual "inherent" power. It's just a baken in effect of the power, that can't be turned off. Criticals, Gauntlet, Containment, Scourge, etc. These are all part of the power, not a true inherent that can be turned off. So, some ATs would lose their inherents, while others would work fine. That's not a challenge, it's only unfair. -
Also, the "guys in suits" probably want the game to be stable over the holiday weekend, when many of them might not be there to fix any issues that come up. So, downtime now saves Christmas game-playing.

Hey all,
Recently, I've been having a small, but annoying, issue with the forums, and I'm hoping that one of you fine folks might have an idea to help me out.
On my home computer, everything works fine. However, on my work computer (which I tend to post from more), the forum site doesn't remember me, even though cookies are enabled, and I click the box saying "remember me." The more annoying part of that, however, is that it takes me 2-6 times of putting in my login information before it actually logs me in. It takes me to the redirect page, and then puts me back into the forums, no logged in.
Has anyone else had this problem on the forums? Is there a way to fix it?
Thanks,
Aett -
What, you guys aren't in the Beta yet? Gee, that's pretty sad. I got in two months ago, and all I had to do was sign the NDA. There was a provision in there about breaking it, and then being shot by an arrow, but I figure that part couldn't possibly be true, right? I mean, it's not like they know where I liv...

Ha! You guys got my stunt double! I'm not at home now, I'm at wor...

Quote:I believe, though I could be wrong on this, that the spiders (and I'm assuming that you mean the Arachnos Spider Bots?) use the same skeleton as the Nemesis Jaegers. Basically, a cylinder with "legs." Basically, the cylinder moves, but with no relation to the movement of the legs, which might look okay one something with mechanical legs, but on something that is supposed to be an animal, would definitely look quite odd.Aett, you make a great point here, but it occurs to me that perhaps some of these skeletons already exist in a way. For instance think of the snake men, yet I can see the still humanoid skeleton only slightly altered. But what about the spiders? That certainly would appear to me to more of an animal skeleton than humanoid. I do agree with you there is a good deal of effort in adapting the skeleton for dogs, birds, horses, and what not. But perhaps if enough people keeps asking for them, the priority for them may improve.

Thanks for the support, all. To the OP: I was not trying to be rude, but I can see how it came off that way. I apologize for coming off that way, though, so please forgive.
All I was trying to say was that the answer here is pretty much the same as what you got in the PQ forum: that you can't get to Tanker-level resistances. However, as many have said in this thread, you can make yourself very tough. I do agree that Defense bonuses are what you're going to want to go for, over Resistance bonuses, because it's just plain easier to do.
Going for some Recharge bonuses would be good, too, in order to try to get Dull Pain to be permanently up. It's fairly easy to get to that level of Recharge, and can help a bit, especially against damage types that you won't have Defense towards, such as Psy and Toxic.
So, if you're trying to make an /Invuln Scrapper very tough, go for Defense and Recharge bonuses, and don't focus on Resistance bonuses, unless they come in sets you're already going for. -
Like was posted in your thread on the same subject on the Player Questions forum, you CANNOT get to Tanker level resistances on a Scrapper, the Resistance caps won't let you.
You can get to be pretty tough, especially if you go for Defense bonuses, but you can't get as tough resistance-wise. -
The boxes probably are, but if you buy online, you can only buy the version for your region. If you're in Europe, you automatically get the EU version of the game, and can't buy the NA one. You need to contact customer support to get it changed over.

If you don't want to take the train, then don't. You can get from any zone to any zone just using tunnels. Granted, it may take longer, but you can get there. Don't like that option? Use your super base, or Pocket D, or Ouroborus, or the Vanguard bases to access the RWZ, and get around that way a bit faster.
Travel in this game is already almost trivial. I'm not really a big fan of making it more so. -
He will need to contact customer service about this. support@ncsoft.com should be the right link to e-mail them at.
