Server jumping

I've got a friend who recently bought city of heroes, however he received the EU servers, and he didn't want those; he wants the US servers. I know plenty of people out of country who play the US servers.

How does he go about converting?

He will need to contact customer service about this. support@ncsoft.com should be the right link to e-mail them at.

There is no way to currently jump an account from EU to NA or vice versa. To play on the NA servers, they would have to start a new account with an NA version of the game.

However, in the past, Customer Service has been able to make an EU account an NA or vice versa, although the method used closes/seals off the original and starts a new one, and is only done for relatively new accounts.

So are the EU and NA boxes of CoX just not labeled as such?

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

He bought it electronically, since it's easier to that way.

The boxes probably are, but if you buy online, you can only buy the version for your region. If you're in Europe, you automatically get the EU version of the game, and can't buy the NA one. You need to contact customer support to get it changed over.

Depends on where you're buying from. A lot of places will give you an alternate download link to the other version. For instance, everything on the NCsoft store links to the other version in its details page. ("European version also available" etc.)
