Ok - so I flashed-back to some Faultline arcs that I'd never played before (I was waaaay past that level range when Faultline was re-vamped) and I had to switch from the build that I'm working on, to my primary/playing build. I went to speak to the resident hero contact, Mirror Spirit, and was actually surprised. Visually, she's a very well designed character. She even seems... 'advanced', in comparison to Ms. Liberty, who looks like she was recently drawn / put together with a pack of Crayola Crayons. Is it not time to re-hash some of the hero costumes? Infernal got given wings - can't Ms.L get a bit of a makeover?
Also - has anyone else noticed that the 'Merit Vendors' literally look like the output of a 'random' costume generator? The one in Atlas looks like a member of the Taxi SG, and I saw another that was a purple/green Vazilok experiment gone wrong.
Where's Gok Wan when you need him? -
See, I used to enjoy taking on the Sky Raiders in Terra Volta in mid-air
Now I just freeze'em and bring them to ground level - no point staying up there to fight - so yeah, I can't see 'flight fight' animations coming along
But it's a nice idea - I like the flight poses, so a few more 'tweaks' and additions to make flight look more realistic is a good suggestion.

Agreed - Coalitions seem a bit daft if you can't see their roster / active player list
-
Agreed, what with IOs being so easy to build
-
It 'helps', but the items 'hover' away from teh wall. I'm worried what's going to happen to bases build this way when it is fixed...

Has anyone managed any festive decorations for Christmas in their base? A cosy fireplace? Decorations? A Christmas tree???

Are the Winter Travel Enhancements in there, for the Winter Event?
-
The Frostbitten badge is given out when you log in after the event starts - I assume, therefore, it is new.
Will have to check out the new winter travel power. Does it look any good? -
Not bad suggestions for a download. Still, it's still a pretty hefty download.

Questions regarding the Winter Event:
1) Frostbitten Badge
This is a new one, right? There are so many 'frost' badges, I find it hard to keep track - and for some reason I can't get to badge-hunter at the moment. I believe that it is...
2) The Holiday Cheer temp giving 'Winter Themed Hat'
This is the old 'santa hat', right? The one that has been available previously?
3) Ski Challenges
'Enhanced Ski Run' for 2008 - Do with think there will be more badges? Or the same Gold/Silver/Bronze from last time?
4) Holiday Auras
From the way it is written, I assume these are two seperate 'items' to buy?
5) Winter Themed Enhancement Set
I heard this mentioned when people were discussing Mids (the latest version). Is this 'set' shown there? -
Loving the robot - the Council will be jealous!
Also - the slow field as a water effect is genius! I would never have thought of that!!! -
I left mine standing after I receieved the 'downloading file manifest' message, whilst I contacted tech support. After about an hour, it said 'fixing cityofheroes.exe', and REALLY slowly rebuilt the file (I assume that's what it was doing). After another hour (ish) I could login (but my internet went down, because Virgin are naff, and have been on-again-off-again for a fortnight - but no, that's not related to this issue!)
Haven't heard anything back from tech support yet - but it's nice (in a way) to know that I'm not the only one with this problem! -
Perfect timing - I'm creating a new build for my character in my 'second build' to eventually move over to, and having access to the new enhancements and changes is perfect. It's appreciated, Mids.

I just tried removing the checksum so that it re-ran it. Nothing - still getting stuck in the same place.

Oh, yes, I AM! I just put in in here as another thread....

I have had problems accessing the game since the last patch. This evening (right now) is the second time this specific incident has occurred:
1) I load the updater, and it says 'Checking Updater'
2) It then says 'Requesting Patch'
3) It then freezes on 'Downloading File Manifest' and simply doesn't do ANYTHING
This happened the other night, so I just left it and went off to read something. An hour or two later, I came back, and it was ready to go. However, it doesn't seem to be doing anything at the moment... and I really wanted / needed to get in (SG Task Force organised...)
I read that there seem to be various problems since the last patch / upgrade. Is this one of them? -
Sorry, missed that FFM. My apologies.
Aardvark - I agree, it needs pride and place on the shelves! I used to work in a GAME store part-time when I was a student, and would always put CoH or CoV somewhere where it would be seen, and I'd encourage people to buy / play. I'm sure if it came out to the shelves again, I could sweet-talk my ex-boss to do the same again for a nice number of weeks - he's an old member of my SG (defected to the world of XBoxes) and he'll understand and respond to my plea -
Ah, see, I'd be happy with a new version going out to the market (physical, not digital) so that the game gets back on the shelves...

Always good to have a backup disk to install from without having a HUGE download.
However, not 'essential'. Just nice. Chuck in a freebie (costume part? Badge) and then charge away. -
But Ctrl+Click would mean that you could hover over the 'stack' list, and just 'flush' your stored inventory into your personal inventory (something I need to do now and then whilst organising / mass crafting). All that dragging is... repetitive.
-
I don't expect this GFX upgrade to be chargable, tbh. Until we get told, anything else is just speculation, and debating over it, a tad moot.

re: The 'removing salvage from storage without 'click click click'
How about a Ctrl+Click command/option that picks it all up in one go? -
AND - if you delete the item, you'll have to re-craft it, as it doesnt go back into your 'personal items' list.
