Bases

Okay, i13 now rewards you if you log out in your SG base.

So...

Why can't we log on in our SG base instead for from where we last were prior to loggin out in the base?

Because your SG base is instanced: i.e. when there is no one in it it stops existing.

I really should do something about this signature.

Doesn't really answer the question Praf.

A record of were each toon is offline must be recorded to allow for the DayJobs data to be recorded.

Therefore why can't this data be used to instance the base when a toon logs back in?

If I were an RP'er I'd find it annoying that I leave my "self" on duty in the base, only to find myself kicked out when I return.

What do you get for logging off in the base? As far as I can tell the only one related to SG bases is the Monitor Duty and thats the base portal, which I thought was the portal to access the base in the city zones.

From pure guess work, Id say that to have bases, ALL SG bases up permanantly would take a HUGE ammount of server space, or the like.
I think it might also make base editing a whole lot harder?
Just guessing, leave it to GR or someone to verify that.

Monitor Duty kicks in if you log out inside your base, or beside a base portal.

That's because, when you log back in, you appear beside the base portal you entered your base from.

The game does not appear to be able to spawn an instance upon entering the game. If it did, you could get dumped back into missions on forced disconnects, and other such goodies. On that basis, it would seem that it is currently impossible to be spawned into the base.

Also, and I haven't tested this, so that people without a base or an SG can have a shot at the Monitor Duty day job too. If it actually required a base to be there instead of the portal there may be people who wouldn't be able to get it.

Fair, but tbh, Bases are free. Just form a one man SG, create base, put nothing in it, or just decorate it as a bachelor(ette) pad. So, not a big problem if you had to log out in a base. But you don't.

I would like to be able to log in and 'start' in my base. It's our center of operations, and most of the time when I log in, I have SG / base 'admin' to do before I start 'hero'ing

Convert entire racks at atime or option to remove 20 salvage of one type. Click click click gets dull after awhile.

Seeing that base items require specific salavage, increase the limit of salvage racks.

Nope.

What the game appears to do is record the length of time you are logged out, then check where you are when you log IN, and apply time to any appropriate day jobs for that location.

It's easier data to track, basically - it doesn't have to record anything at all, it just notes the conditions when you log in.

That's why.

Nah, that wouldn't bother me at all, really. I'd prefer to be out in the city somewhere than have to guarantee a zone load just to get where I want to be.

Thanks, that makes sense. The Day Job icon doesn't appear when you are in base which is why I was wondering.

re: The 'removing salvage from storage without 'click click click'

How about a Ctrl+Click command/option that picks it all up in one go?

You can drag from the shelf to your salvage inventory. That would instantly move 20 (or however many more you could carry) or the items to your inventory. Worked fine for Lorne just after the release of i13

But Ctrl+Click would mean that you could hover over the 'stack' list, and just 'flush' your stored inventory into your personal inventory (something I need to do now and then whilst organising / mass crafting). All that dragging is... repetitive.
