No, I'm seeing posts like I quoted from Noxilicious as being vitriol. I also see the criticisms as pushing an agenda that would see free speech being curtailed. Some group perceiving themselves as victims will always come out of the woodwork and claim whatever they need to do to silence others.

They're ideas we literally grew up with, that were with us since we were born. Me? A couple of months ago I thought the R-word was awesome for just casually dismissing people and things I didn't like until one day I stumbled upon an intellectually-disabled-rights activist. I started researching their plight, I reflected on all the ways I've Othered and discriminated them without even knowing.
That post contains other examples of the caustic criticism I'm speaking of.

Because that is what art, and especially comic book superhero art, does. It exaggerates poses to give a sense of movement and action. You never show the moment at the beginning (start of the swing, or the sky about to fall) or end of a pose (unless it is an explosion, but rarely someone curled up in a ball), but something just after the impact.

Considering that is what I can count on getting (PUGs), I'm not sure that I'll be able to get the badges needed for this.

Um, no. You'll get a rare component though, and an Astral Merit. Not an extra Empyrean Merit.

And I seem to find a lot of people that seem to be unable to complete the BAF trial...

Easy and fast = more rewards. I imagine at some point, rewards for these trials may get adjusted.

My favorite is that they want the Master of Lambda to be harder (and it is) and yet it is LESS rewarding then Master of BAF.

Someone in the dev team is not thinking very clearly in this situation.
Yeah, before the change I was getting 3-4 Astral merits from Lambda. These days I'm lucky if I get 3. Most of the time I get two.

That pose is nowhere near. For one, her back is flat, and her torso is aligned with her hips. Sister Psyche's back is bent at a severe (for a spine) angle, and her torso is behind her hips. The unnatural bend of the back is the number one problem with her pose.
Well, it isn't as bad as a Liefeld drawing.

Is it the best art? No. Is it a cause for a rant on social issues? No. The vitriol is coming from those that are treating this AS a racist or sexist issue. If all you have to complain about is the pose, then my comments are not directed at you.

See, I can understand what YOU are saying here. On the other hand, those that are comparing this with racism, sexism, and prejudice against those with disabilities are the people that I'm disgusted with. I'm hoping that clears things up.

The green door is not included for the Bunker Buster badge. Only the red doors count (or so I gather, as I've not been able to get the badge myself). Still training the server I play on (Triumph), on how to run the trial before attempting badges . The green door is for those characters with high stealth (Stalkers, Illusion Controllers) to sneak in the back door.

  7. This is probably a case where they are starting low, and will gradually increase until it is what they consider "right" instead of starting large and have people scream murder over the eventual nerf.

BABs is, and will always be, a racial caricature. I'm sure that if the game had a R rating that his dialogue would be littered with f-bombs, black slang, and ethnic slurs from blaxploitation films in the 70s.

The woman has a similar pose. Though she is looking ahead, not behind her. The object of her terror is less than the destruction of the city. She doesn't have a super hero comic book figure, but if she did she would look similar to Sister Psyche.

They could make Astral and Empyrean merits available to the in-game store (like respecs, server transfers, and renames), but only on the test and beta servers. With the test/beta servers not connected to the billing servers, that would be a way to bypass this limitation.

Or the players can copy the same character multiple times to the test server and buy what that character can, claim the items, and proceed to the next copy. Even a character that only has 6 empyrean merits can, with multiple copies, buy everything. At that point everything will be unlocked globally on the test server.
  11. I seem to remember you can only make 3 purchases per day. There is also a setting in your billing limiting how much you can buy in a month.

Anyone else have similar stories? I find it very amusing, and not at all surprising, that the devs efforts to 'fix' iXP and have it apply to an entire league..seems to have ended up with us getting less.
Update..just ram a Lam. EIGHT % destiny xp. 8. Prepatch, every lam I did for destiny would be at least 15%. I wonder if this is working as intended, or just another thing the awesome testing doesnt uncover?
To put it in perspective, I have gotten under 5% on a successful BAF run before issue 20.5, and under 4% on a successful Lambda before 20.5.

On the other hand, before 20.5, players on the same team got different amounts of incarnate XP for the same kill. I wonder if that is still the case.
  13. None of the methods currently work.

    Sig Button Art

Thanks to this thread, I've been making a lot of "buttons" for the upcoming F2P.

Seeing they fall into this section of the forums, I thought I'd share.

I'm not sure where VoodooGirl got the Red/White/Blue buttons from, but I converted the original blank button she presented to fit in the forum sig rules (under 600x120) and cleaned up the transparency.

I intend to add more to the fansite / purely mine categories and will post them to this thread.

    Edit:
Due to bandwidth concerns, I've moved all my buttons, but have made the following single image for people to download and edit. There is nothing like several thousand views and people using the images on multiple sites to drive up bandwidth.

Also, I found the source image that VoodooGirl used. It can be found here:

  20. A few more buttons:

    Edit:
    Removed due to bandwidth concerns.

If you want to spend 20-30 minutes (more if an Invasion/Banner Event happens in the hunt zone(s)) hunting greys, feel free to do it on your own time.

So, only 1 of the 16 hunts goes?

How about removing the following additional pointless hunts too:

2.5.1 Defeat villains in Perez Park
2.5.2 Defeat 10 Clockwork in Atlas Park
2.5.3 Defeat 10 Outcasts in Steel Canyon
2.5.5 Defeat 10 Skulls in Kings Row
2.5.6 Defeat 10 Trolls in Skyway
2.5.7 Defeat 20 Vahzilok in Faultline
2.5.8 Defeat 20 Crey in Brickstown
    2.5.9 Defeat 20 Freakshow in Crey's Folly
2.5.10 Defeat 20 Sky Raiders in Terra Volta
2.5.11 Defeat 10 Family and 10 Tsoo in Independence Port
2.5.12 Defeat 20 Council in 'Boomtown'
2.5.13 Defeat 30 Warriors in Talos Island
2.5.14 Defeat 30 Banished Pantheon in Dark Astoria
  23. Here is a graph of my trial reward tables, The top peaks are Very Rare, descending to Rare, Uncommon, Common, Threads, and Fails (bottom). Each horizontal is a group of 50 trials.

Your question is fully based on the notion that higher participation = higher rewards. In my first post in this thread, I told you that is not the case. What I've been attempting to do is to make every player that reads this thread aware of the fact that higher participation does not mean that they will get a higher reward.

You might not see it that way, but it is what you are doing. If you had stopped and considered what you were being told instead of objecting, you might have realized that.

Yes, you hit a lucky streak. Like I said, random is random.
