Quote:My tone is that the Gunslinger outfits for females looks like the attire of a Hollywood film harlot rather than anything period, sensible or seemly. Please note that Dressing Sexy doesn't make women sluts automatically I I think very much that is the tone most of the Anti-sexy posters are having here. Not to detract from their over all point that is valid but let us not heap on other stereo types while fining against one.
I have characters that have hero (or villain) work outfits, formal outfits, work outfits (A fair few of my characters have a nice selection of lab coats, being scientists and such, and a couple have overalls being mechanics and engineers and so on), casual outfits, suits (including dress suits and trouser suits for females) and so forth. Hell, one even has my idea of a Mighty Mart uniform, being his place of work.
Another poster mentioned Baron jackets and people wanting their female characters to dress like men, to which I say:
Special Operations Unit N would look bloody awesome if they could all wear Baron Jackets as military overcoats. Nachtbrecher, Hochstapler, Isaiah Creed, Gail's Force, Project Geist, Chromagia. Three girls in that set up.
Masugn doesn't get an overcoat because he's a walking blast furnace golem from Sweden.
I have other characters that'd love the Baron jacket for various reasons, from military to just looking cool to protecting from the weather. -
Quote:So...I don't see any issues with it. They are costumes representing dress of those periods in time. Sure there are exceptions to the rule but you can only incorporate so many pieces in one set. If the female version got all the male pieces you would have players complaining about not having the female only pieces.
Much...
RAGE!
THAT IS NOT A GUNSLINGER OUTFIT. HOW CAN IT BE A GUNSLINGER PACK IF THE FEMALE OPTION IS NOT A GUNSLINGER OUTFIT! HELL, THERE ISN'T EVEN A DERRINGER PISTOL TO BE SEEN! THAT'D LEND SOME CREDENCE TO IT BEING 'REPRESENTING THE DRESS PERIOD OF THOSE TIMES' AND YOU KNOW WHAT?
If I buy a Gunslinger pack I expect to look like a gunslinger! .
-
So the Gunslinger set is live. Buy it for males and huge characters, and get the positively burlesque Saloon Harlot costume pieces for females, free! Or not. Get horrible pre-tinting coloured pieces, parts that don't accept secondary colours, and nothing even remotely practical or worthy of the pack 'Gunslinger'!
Devs, if you're going to pull **** like this, take some advice:
1: Don't bother posting a feedback thread for the costume if you're not going to do **** about it.
2: Market it how it is. Rodeo Cowboy and Wild West Night at the Burlesque.
3: If you're going to pre-tint stuff, why not say "**** it" and just make it come in one colour choice only.
Maybe I'm odd in that the bug ridden release of Issue 21.5, the stupidity of the Super Pack and the to be honest lacklustre news from the Player Summit all made me grumble and cancel my second account's VIP sub, but this is the straw that's breaking the spine of a load bearing, behumped animal and making me consider dropping the primary account's VIP sub. -
Everything I hoped would go on sale, did not. :P
Character Slots
Costume Slots *
Enhancement Trays
Salvage Increase
Recipe Increase
Auction House Slott
(* Denotes things for my second account, I got the costume slots for my main account 1 for 800pp and the other 4 for 600pp.)
Also, I can't justify to myself spending £3.40 on one rare enhancement set for one character. -
Next up on the Paragon Market, a pack to facilitate a heavy session of drinking in a microbrewery goes horribly wrong.
-
Exclusive, Super Pack Only things in a choice of five random grab bag is an idea worse than removing Empyrean Merits from Lam/BAF and the 15 E-Merit barrier on certain Incarnate abilities combined and multiplied by the utter suck that is the Gunslinger/Saloon Strumpet split in the upcoming costume bundle.

Jacob would offer to help, feel free to use him however, Forse. -
Whatever news comes from the Summit will be the news that determines if I decide to stick with the game. Recent design decisions, even if later removed, have made me question the direction of the game.
Costumes: The Gunslinger set that's actually Gunslinger and Saloon Girl, in addition to the various other complaints about the direction of male versus female costume pieces.
Incarnate: The proposed and removed 15 Empyrean Merit lock on the new Alpha, Judgement, Destiny and Interface abilities vaguely being considered a good idea. Yes it was removed but I honestly thought the devs would have had more sense to ever let it go beta.
Content: Huge gulf in Blueside 30-50 content, especially 30-40. Lack of new Tip and Morality missions. The sub-class nature of being a Rogue or Vigilante and the excuse that 'you can do all content so no merits for you' when actually you can't start missions, use Ouroboros to do missions on the side you're visiting, and if you're a Rogue you can't even go to the Echo of Galaxy City.
There's other arguments and points I could raise, but I have to leave for work soon so time is limited. I hope the Summit pulls cats out of bags and rabbits out of hats and buffalo out of shoes as the team goes 'our bad, here's what we're doing right though, it's awesome, stay and play!' -
Taking a little break from FF RP for a little while, may drop by PD or something. Will be back on Isaiah to help out with the Sha'Atael mission then might swing by afters.

- Allow me to be perfectly blunt: We will not release a new costume part each and every week. We will not release a new power set every other week. We will not release something that you, yes you, specifically you, find compelling each and every week. What we will do is strive to put a variety of offerings on the Market which appeal to many different individuals. The wonderful thing is, if it doesn't strike you as compelling, then you don't have to spend your points on it.
I'd like to see more Account things have sales. Character Slots, Transfers, Respecs, Renames, Costume Slots, Storage Upgrades (Enhancement/Recipe/Salvage/AH) and so forth. Even just one a week would tantalize more. -
-
500pp for the Dog Pet that can't be used with walk?
Nein. Not going to get it, the price is too damn high.
Also, still no sales.
I've been hoping Costume Slots will go on sale again, and Character Slots would go on sale for the first time. -
Quote:So what you're saying is...My sister's pet peeve is when a company releases <something traditionally aimed at guys> in an attempt to rope in female consumers, and the product is exactly the same, except pink.
Female Baron Jacket pre-colour tinted pink? So if we want a white jacket, it's pinkish? :P -
Current Alignment Vendor Merit window spiel when you try to buy something and are on cooldown for A-Merit purchases is that you can only do it every 20 hours.
The change is a simple, common sense one. Rewrite this so it tells you how long it will take for you to be able to purchase something again.
I know I can only get something every 20 hours. It doesn't help if I can't remember -when- that 20 hours is up. If you tell me it'll take an hour, then that's much better. -
Ideas:
Introduction Mission at level 5, get him as a contact to call up afterwards when you want to change things.
Missions to unlock Hero Corps/Fateweaver as a Contact to call to change difficulty. -
Wow... I wasn't expecting that at all. Uh, thank you!
What started in mind as a story about a Praetorian discovering the joys of cable television quickly turned instead into a story of new beginnings. Maybe one day, a story will come about with a Praetorian discovering the joys of a TV experience where every channel isn't TPN. But not today.
I'll probably enter the others in the next six weeks, just because it's a nice little way to get the creative juices flowing. Good luck, and look forward to reading your stuff. -

“Our old place in Imperial was much nicer.” Denise Croft sniffed, looking around the small Kings Row apartment that her, her husband and her baby son had been shown to by the FBSA. It was sparsely furnished, with just the essentials in the bathroom and kitchen, and a couple of fold-away chairs and a small dining table in the living area. While the place itself was clean, the neighbourhood outside looked a little unloved, and there was a worrying lack of PPD presence.
“Lots of things about back home were nicer, dear.” Larry 'Ironjack' Croft sighed, dressed in slacks and jeans instead of his tight, metallic costume. “I was a Top Dog. We had the perks and the privileges. It'll take us a while to get on our feet here. Think of it as temporary. Because it is. I'll start searching for work tomorrow.” He paused, watching his wife looking out of the window at the streets below. She was right of course, but... she hadn't seen what drove him to uproot them across dimensions. If she had, then she'd understand.
A soft cry came from behind him, and with a big smile he lifted Daniel, his son, into his arms. “Sounds like someone's hungry, eh Champ? Denise, the formula they gave us, what bag is it in?”
“I'll go fetch it and make some up.” Denise said, looking away from the man with the skull mask menacing someone on the street below. She tried her best to smile for her husband as she went to the kitchen, but her heart wasn't in it.
Stepping up to the window, Larry and Daniel looked outside and quickly spotted the gang member.
“Son, I know when you're older you might wonder why we're in this city. It might not be as clean as Praetoria, or seem as safe... but that's why. It only 'seemed' safe. I did things, saw things, that I never want you to have to see. And that's why we're here now.” Larry whispered quietly, cradling his romper-suited son to his chest. “I'll work hard for you and your mom, and I'll help the city out, show them just what us Praetorians can do. So even though it'll be tough on us at times, I did it for us. For you.”
Larry trailed off watching a man, who back home would be Powers Division, arrest the thug with a mere gesture and command to render him harmless before placing some sort of teleporting beacon tag on him. The pair watched as the hero checked the almost-victim over, giving them a hand up from where they'd been shoved over before heading off with a friendly wave. Back home? The hero would have been forced into becoming a Seer.
“I did it so you'd have the freedom to do or be whatever you want, son.” Larry smiled, kissing Daniel's forehead. “Especially if you grow up like your old man.”

*hugs* I missed all of you so very much, and I'm not just saying that because in an effort to cure internet deprived loneliness I watched Strictly Come Dancing with my parents.

Now to get Five to 22 ready for tonight. -
Last night, Maxi said she'd see about loaning Five to the above cause, because she slices, she dices, she even makes julienne fries. There was much chatter with Theo too, and others as they arrived.
Then zombies came and they delivered a smack down on them. -

Quote:I think they should change it so that the banners are vunerable already, you just have to destroy them while fighting off the Unseelie. Bonus time for each one that you destroy to delay the arrival of the zombie apocalypse.Wasn't too bad, the new trial was quite good fun.
For Banners, I firmly hold the position that there should be a consequence for not doing them. As an RPer, I attend one of the regular nightly meets on Union, and when the Banner event triggers in our zone, the majority of people (including me) do absolutely nothing. Why? Because in 20 minutes, the event will end, and nothing happens.
I think that not dealing with the Banners should trigger a guaranteed Zombie Apocalypse, which would give people a judgement call to make: try to deal with the banners, or face the consequences.
Also, the Zombie Apocalypse needs a time to end counter.
The trial was neat, but like the zombies, you were doing it mostly for the badges and reward table, they were quite stingy with their XP/inf/prestige drops. (Not talking about the zombies in the final fight that drop Respites on death. They were rather neat.) -
Currently:
You need to be of a certain reward level as a Premium to earn Reward Merits and Vanguard Merits.
You must reaffirm your status as a hero, or be able to, to claim A-Merits from the SSA reward table.
Suggested Change:
You can earn Reward Merits and Vanguard Merits at any reward level. You have to be a VIP/of a certain reward level to claim them.
Heroes/Villains can earn A-Merits from the SSA's without reaffirming status, even at level 10+. You must complete 1 Hero/Villain Morality Mission to reaffirm your status and gain access to the vendor that converts A-Merits to recipes and such. -
Weak. No sales, no costume pieces, just 2 Mission Temp Powers and 1 Invention Salvage Power. For $5. On the penultimate day of the Halloween event.
Check yourselves before you wreck yourselves.
Or, actually, you want to make it cool?
Holy Shotgun, the Baseball Bat, Stun Grenades, Frag Grenades, Medkit, Revive Other, Gabriel's Hammer, SMG, Pistol, the Croatoa Iron Sword and the Croatoa Ghost Banishing Charm.
75 charges in each weapon. However many for the medkit and revive. For all characters. 400 PP.
That's what I call an Undead survival kit.

Fair points made by all.
What about a marketing style survey, even if it was just 'Pick 10 things out of these drop down menus you'd like to see.' rather than a more in-depth questionnaire?
